Customer Reviews:
A complete rip-off - outdated, focused on New Jersey; a complete waste.......2007-05-21
This is easily the worst purchase I've ever made from Amazon. At just 104 pages, AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE MADE SIMPLE is priced at $0.19 a page. At this rate, the new Harry Potter would cost $150, and you're likely to find just as much worthwhile insurance information in THE DEATHLY HALLOWS as you will in this book. Not only is everything contained in AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE MADE SIMPLE common sense, outdated, or available online; the book is written for New Jersey citizens only - despite the fact that this is not prominently disclosed. Even New Jersey consumers will be wasting their time with this pitiful excuse for a "guide," since their state laws have recently been overhauled. Quite literally, this book is not worth the paper it's printed on.
nice, but these days there are a lot online resources.......2005-01-12
nice book.
also these days there are a lot online resources,
like at http://www.10-auto-insurance.com
Finally, a clear explanation of auto insurance!.......1999-08-23
I have just completed reading this book and for the first time I know what coverage I have and what type of protection it provides! I took out my insurance policy and went over it step by step. What an eye opener this was. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in knowing the truth. These guys really seem to be interested in helping others to understand their auto insurance. Not only is it simple to read, it was fun!

Book Description
This book provides a comprehensive look at the changes that have occurred in the distributions of both income and wealth in the United States since 1960. Both historical and current data are used in the analysis of the interactive effects of these two distributions on the standards of living of various segments of American families. In assessing the changing pattern of the distribution of income, the author employs a variety of standards against which to measure the level of income received by various segments of the population. This book is unique in that the analysis looks at all income classes. Such topics as the causes of poverty, the shrinking middle class, and the concentration of wealth holdings amongst the rich are all examined in detail. The book also explores the impacts of both distributions on such specific groups as Blacks, Hispanics, women, and children. In the final chapter, the author proposes a series of policy measures that should be pursued to move the United States toward more equitable distributions of both income and wealth. Part One of the book examines the distribution of income during the period 1960-88. Part Two looks at the changing distribution of wealth in the United States. The work concludes with an examination of the effects of the distribution of wealth on the distribution of income; a review of the causes of the patterns of distribution as seen in the data; and a discussion of the effects of these changes upon American society. Individuals associated with policy planning groups, both in government and in the private sector, including advocacy groups, should find this book quite useful to their work. It should also appeal to academics concerned with the issues of economics of poverty, the economics of discrimination, human capital theory, and urban economics.

Book Description
This accompanying book to Mankiw and Taylor's Economics does three things. First, it reinforces the text and improves the student's understanding of the material presented in it. Second, it provides the reader with experience in using economic theories and tools to solve actual economic problems, that is it bridges the gap between economic concepts and economic problem solving. Finally, the Workbook and Study Guide includes a self-test to confirm areas of successful learning and to highlight areas needing improvement. Each chapter in the Workbook and Study Guide corresponds to a chapter in the main textbook - Mankiw and Taylor's Economics.

Book Description
This workbook accompanies the second edition of Stephen Turnovsky's Methods of Macroeconomic Dynamics. New problems have been added to most of the chapters, particularly those that are new to the second edition of the book. In general, those exercises near the beginning of the book and the first few exercises of each chapter are the easiest to solve.
Customer Reviews:
Good support for the use of Stephen Turnovsky's book.......2000-04-17
This workbook is a very good tool to professors, teaching assistants and students. It provides an excellent support to really understand the different topics covered in Turnovsky's book, that sometimes are really hard to understand quickly. I used this workbook for a course of International Macroeconomics when i was teaching assistant and helped me to explain some points in a very practical way.

Book Description
What's your biggest regret in life? Author Barry Cadish discovered that thousands of people, via the Internet, were willing to answer this one intriguing, universal question. The results - some funny, some heartbreaking, all heartfelt - provide an unprecedented collection of life choices. Posed with a provocative question about their biggest regret, people from all walks of life answered by logging on to Cadish's Web site, RegretsOnly.com. Teachers, lawyers, factory workers, secretaries, business owners, senior, nurses, teenagers, and prison inmates shared their stories about childhood, love, careers, children, money, addictions, crime and more. Together, these reflections on choices made - and not made - make for a compelling new book that gives readers deeper insights into their own life decisions.
Customer Reviews:
What not to do in life.......2006-04-17
I have always had this desire to make the best use of my time, especially in life. This book is fascinating in how you can learn from the experience of others. Also a good book if your parents and people around you never really shared thier "If I knew then what I know now" stories and you really need that kick in the pants.
Also a great motivater to use this one life the best way you can.
A very familiar feeling.......2005-02-15
Haven't we all wished we could go back and change something in our lives?
This book is a collection of short comments...brief stories from people expressing their regrets. Some are humorous and others are sad, but they are always interesting.
James Green, author of "If There's One Thing I've Learned."
A Must Read!.......2001-09-19
This book is a wonderful insight into how we all think about the would of, could have and should dones in our life. It makes you realize how human we all are and not alone in any real circumstance if we open our hearts and thoughts to those around us. How to trust your instincts. It will make you think about what is important in your life and how time, pain and experiences make us all grow into better people. The stories are so sincere and heartfelt...kind of like reading someone's diary. I laughed, smiled and cried. I bought several copies for friends and they appreciated the books messages as well. Be Well!
A fascinating read, a treasure of humanity.......2001-07-19
Thanks to the author for compiling this marvelous wealth of human experience and insight into such a delightful format. I only wish that a book like DAMN had been published years ago before I amassed my own regrets.
Don't let the title deceive you, DAMN is a book that inspires because it allows the reader to take the long view on life through the rear view mirror of the choice of others. Very rarely does a book come along that resonates the results of so much experience without sounding the least bit preachy or pious.
I keep a copy in the glove compartment of my car so that I have something bite sized to review whenever I have to wait for something or someone for more than a few moments and I want to keep my mind engaged. It has spawned a number of great conversations with my children and several other passengers. This book makes a great gift for anyone who considers life a journey and is willing to weigh the consequences of the mistakes of others as they make their own important life choices.
JM
Needs more older people.......2001-05-19
This is a brilliant book in parts but I was disappointed that so many of the regrets are from quite young people who have yet to experience enough of life's tumbles to have regrets that the rest of us can learn from.
Worth a read as some parts are outstanding. However, to be considered truly a guidebook by which you could lead your life, I think that it falls a little short.

Customer Reviews:
Not What You Think It Is.......2001-06-29
Based on the title, I purchased this book thinking it would be commentary from Tori on life, her music and lyrics or philosophies. Instead, this is merely a compilation of quotes and fashion pictures - just like a coffee table book. Although she is a beautiful woman with funny and intriquing comments, I'm more interested in her thoughts....If you were looking for "Images and Insights", read her Biography.
I LOVE Tori, but............2000-04-20
Although the book is full of wonderful pictures I was a little disappointed that there wasn't much to read. I love pictures of Tori, but these were much of the same style (backround, hairstyle, pose, etc.). I do have All These Years which is an absolutely amazing book that I could've done fine with just pictures because she just looks gorgeous in every one. Now that's a great book! I am a big Tori fan, but this book just didn't do anything for me.
Pictures, Pictures, and more Eyecandy . . ........1999-03-15
It's a pretty book and almost entirely pictures. I was rather under the idea that it was going to have more text --text that allowed what Tori was really thinking about. It does provide brief exerpts from numerous articles, but most of them, I found anyway to be too brief. You're getting a great deal of images, but the insight is limited --so beware. I am glad to have this book, so don't get me wrong. I just wanted to let interested readers know that there isn't a whole lot to read . . .
WOW...I am stunned.......1998-09-24
This is just an excellent addition to any toriphile's collection. I went to a show, had the book autographed and it was beautiful...My favorite tori book because it lets you see her art through her own eyes...and combined with Cindy Palmano's amazing photos...just wow!
Wonderful! An insight into Tori's soul........1998-07-18
This book is great for anyone who wants to know Tori's private thoughts and feelings. It gives a better understanding of the woman behind the name. I loved this book!

Book Description
Since 1952, when Eisenhower's media consultants decided they could "warm up" the General's personality and overcome selective exposure by using short spots on television, advertising has played a major role in American presidential campaigns. By the late 1990s, candidates and their political parties spend hundreds of millions on TV ads. Political spots have become the dominant form of communication between voters and candidates. Kaid and Johnston report the results of a systematic and thorough analysis of virtually all of the political commercials used in general election campaigns from 1952 through the 1996 presidential contest. Important to scholars, students, and other researchers involved with political communications, mass communications, and presidential elections.

Book Description
You know all those hidden techniques and amazing features you spent months discovering in Visual Basic 6? Imagine you could read just one book and regain all of that knowledge. Imagine a book that clearly shows you how to do practically everything you want in .NET – and provides real-life code to get you there. Imagine a book that goes beyond the basics, yet doesn’t get bogged down in detail, a book that will save you hours. That’s what this book is all about; it is the number one book for all your VB.NET code demands.
Download Description
Have you noticed that the majority of .NET books seem intent on hiding you from real-world code? You can buy a 1,500-page draft excluder, study it exclusively for a month, and still be none the wiser as to how you can put together even the most basic of programs. This book isn't like that. Whether you're a hardened pro or new to .NET, this book is the one you'll want to keep on your desk 24/7.
Within these pages, you'll learn: how to create exciting new XP-style interfaces; how to code ultra-thin Windows applications that automatically update via the Web; dozens of hush-hush ASP.NET secrets; how to push your DataGrid to the max in Windows applications and on the Web; and how to add powerful Google, Amazon, and TerraServer searches to your applications.
You'll also find out how you can steal Microsoft code and save hours of development time; uncover the truth behind creating fast programs that run on anything from PDAs to mobile phones to microwaves; be exposed to a hidden .NET language; and also find out why you need to know at least some C# then given a cheat course on the basics.
These aren't updated Visual Basic 6 code scraps: everything within these pages has been created and tested for VB .NET and ASP.NET. And it's all super useful code snippets and .NET programming tips that Moore has personally discovered and developed over the past three years.
Customer Reviews:
This book is for VB .NET 2003.......2007-03-21
I did not get to use this book due to the fact that it was written for VB .NET 2003.
Since the changes between 2003 and 2005 were so dramatic, my search for a good book continues.
I have rated this 5 stars because I didn't use it.
Use just one of two examples and this book pays for itself!.......2006-02-25
I love this book. When I am not looking for an immediate solution to my .Net issues, I am skimming it to pick up some new techniques. Excellent code and explanations. Great for vb.net and asp.net beginners and seasoned programmers who want to save themselves time.
Not a primer but a great collection of obscure tips and tricks.......2005-10-01
I found this book to be full of useful and somewhat obscure information that the author had obviously collected by spending time working with VB.NET. Definitely not an ideal first programming or .NET book, but once you understand the rudiments of VB.NET and the CLR this book can save a lot of time by exposing common pitfalls and providing a ton of code snippets that can be directly integrated into projects. A great timesaver and a large collection of tips and tricks - I'd highly recommend it.
Backdoor Tips and Tricks You Never Knew.......2005-09-07
Being a moderate VB.NET developer I needed a book like this. One that cuts through the chase and show cool tips! I really enjoy the writing style of Mr. Moore. Serious yet comfortable to make you smile and think "I know exactly what you're talking about." But this book isn't really for the beginner. It's for the programmer that's been playing with Windows Form and Web Form development for a while and just need that extra edge. I've built custom controls from some of the reference in this book as well. Great book, would love to see another one.
too popular.......2005-03-11
The content is ok, however the writing style of Karl Moore is really bad. He tries to be funny whole the time. The first few pages I thought it would be ok, however he continues until the very last page of the book.
Example: "I'm really pleased you're sticking with the tutorials. You're obviously one of the few people that truly arent't offended by my smell" and " Well, hurrah and hujjah on coming this far" and "So a round of applause and well done once again!
". You get this type of information every second sentence. It really distracts you from the content and it gets really annoying. Otherwise, it would be a good book (with 100 pages less).
