                  This volume presents a mathematical analysis of cumulative processes of economic growth. In continuous time, the fundamentals of economic growth models are expressed by systems of nonlinear differential equations. With homogeneous dynamic systems as the unifying mathematical framework, the long-run stability properties and the phase portraits of the solutions to classical, neoclassical and Keynesian growth models are analyzed. The general structure and the solutions of two-sector growth models are also treated, with special attention given to output composition and factor allocation issues involved in general equilibrium dynamics. Among other results, this work shows that the dynamic structures and the kinematics of prototype growth models are globally robust. The monograph is divided in two sections: (1) Basic Economic Growth Models -- An Axiomatic Approach; (2) Basic Dynamic Systems. For scholars in economics and applied mathematics; recommended as a reference book for researchers and as a supplementary graduate textbook in economics and mathematics. A familiarity with calculus, ordinary differential equations, and the basic concepts of linear algebra is assumed.

                    The author shows that the enormous gap between theory and facts in modern macroeconomics can only be eliminated by nonlinear macroeconomic dynamics with the following special characteristics: First of all, only certain group-theoretical invariants generate the correct growth cycles with irregularly varying lengths, not any stochastic process as usually applied for this purpose. Furthermore, a special extended value function and generalized human capital are needed for a correct representation of scientific and technological innovation. Finally, the correct nonlinear macroeconomic dynamics are not reducible to microeconomics, for both of the above mentioned reasons.

                    "Meaning of Life" was the last of the Monty Python films, and it returned to the unrelated sketch format of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and the film "And Now For Something Completely Different." While some of the sketches just didn't work and it lacks the sheer brilliance of "Holy Grail" and "Life of Brian," it is a very funny movie in its own right.
                    This is the script book. It has plenty of colour pictures and is printed on high quality paper. It contains several scenes not in the final cut ("Adventures of Martin Luther"), and a couple of frills (bizarre intro. about fish, a hilarious correspondence between John Cleese and the editor of The Sun Newspaper.) While not containing the amount of frills that the script books of "Holy Grail" and "Brian" did, it is definitely worth owning.

                    This is the companion book to Monty Python's most outrageous film. Great color photos illustrate the script, but the REAL reason to own this is that it is the only place you may ever get to read/see some sequences cut from the film. These are "The Adventures of Martin Luther," in which Jones plays a very randy Martin Luther making the Jewish parents of two young daughters (mother Chapman and father Palin) quite nervous and an extended version of the "Middle Age" sequence featuring Carol Cleveland as a waitress in the Dungeon Room waiting on Idle and Palin. The text to these scenes is what warrants the high rating - otherwise, it's simply a souvenier.

                    Well, the Python Fellows have done it again! They have produced a book so funny, so rue to nothing, that it could be just a figment of a madman's imagination. If they think that someone will want to buy this book, they are definetly right on, chaps! I hope everyone will buy this book, read it, and then send it to me! (Just kidding!)

They make no bones about being political, even sometimes feel guilty about it. Plus in an effort to avoid Eurocentricism, they have Europhobic blind spots. Too much they are concerned about categorizing about 'uptown' vs. 'downtown' and being partisian about it.

                                  Still, it is a great book to read because of the issues it raises and makes you think about.

                                  And it is great to read about a Papuan New Guineau tribe's encounter with the performance of Nefertiti by the Miles Davis Quintet

                                            The last reviewer should be aware that a large number of the titles that "had a life" before appearing here in the states, were actually co-productions of WGBH (US) and ITV, BBC, Carlton and other British producers. They may have been filmed in the UK, but it was with the help and support of US underwriters.

                                            Very nice read but to my astonishment I find myself being told that shows, mostly funded by the British taxpayer (via the BBC), are described as "the undisputed jewel in the crown of American television". Sorry guys but the vast majority of shows featured in this book had a life long before they were bought for this sponsored series - it's just a shame that the book rarely acknowledges this.

                                            I only began watching Masterpiece Theatre about 12 years ago, so I found this book a great source of information and enjoyment about the early years and how the show actually came to be. I curled up with this book and couldn't put it down until I had read it cover to cover. I recommend it for anyone that is a fan of the show OR period drama.

                                              I am one of those freaks who would look at a bezillion books before settling with one. (Talking about computer books ofcourse!). This is especially significant when it comes to XML because there is so much tech jargon out there & it is really hard find a book that does not get lost in the details & instead introduce us to the core right away. This book does exactly that. You will start writing decent xml right away.

                                              The following will be helpful.

                                              1. HTML knowledge (a little)
                                              2. The concept of scripts
                                              3. The concept of CSS
                                              4. The concept of XML

                                              When I say 'the concept of', I am only talking about a surface level, "Purpose of existence" kind. Even if you don't know anything about XML, you will be fine with this book.

                                              The book gradually introduces the concepts & does a very neat job of explaining new ideas.

                                              Some experience with HTML might be mandatory. But, the examples are excellent and easy to follow. And the text is neither dry nor simple minded.

                                              This is a book for beginners. I bought the first edition and it gave me all the important information about XML before I started working with it. When I first read it, I thought it was a wonderful book and it was very easy to understand. You will now what's XML in one week and you'll be able to start using it in only two days just by looking at the examples.

                                              Unfortunately, right now I know there's so much more out there about XML than the information contained on the book and believe me, once that you read it, you are never going to used it again because it's not a good book for reference.

                                              I would recommend you to look for a different book with more examples, source code, advanced features or even one that can be used as a reference in your future work.
