Guiding The Fast & Furious.......2006-01-20
Sometimes, I often look into thrid-party strategy guides to see if they can be as helpful as they come out to be. For the guide for Need For Speed: Underground 2, I definitely was right. The guide tells you all the requirements you'd need to get through each of the five stages, as well as detailed tips for each of the well designed and conjured tracks for drag racing, outruns against underground street racers, circuits and point-to-point sprints, and the drift racing competeitions. It does add up very well for those who have Need For Speed Underground 2, and I absolutely suggest this if you get the game in new and used conditions.

Not worth the price of admission.......2005-09-05
Don't get me wrong, NFSU2 is a great game but it just doesn't warrent this book. I thought it'd be helpful but it wasn't and I just went through the stages of the game without the book and did just fine. There are plenty of free guides over the internet anyways.
The Best Game Ever!.......2005-04-01
When I first played Need For Speed Underground 2 it was amazing. You could play i for hours and not get tired.
Perfect guide.......2005-03-23
Well, why I say it is a perfect guide, it is because it covers all the cars, tracks and the process of each stage. For example, in this book, it tells me I need like 6 stars to get to stage 4, 9 stars to stage 5 and 10 stars to stage 10 and to beat the game. For the tracks, it tells me pretty in detail of how long, how to run and how to win a race by these tracks. For the cars, it tells me which is good and which is not good. Basically, this book tells me a hint of how to play it.

Hookin' up the cars.......2004-06-03
I really like this game. It has a lot of pimpin' cars and mods. It is one of the best racing games ever. It really brings you into the world of street racing.
On the flipside..........2004-04-16
Considering the game title is a fairly straightforward streetracing game, and a very well produced one at that, the book is quite well put together. There are no real secrets in the game to talk about other than "Drive as fast as you possibly can"; especially as much of the fun in the game is centered on customizing your car which can be a riot in itself.
Subsequently I find the book to have more appeal as supplementary information for the game and for fans of this entire great series from EA rather than as a profound strategy manual. Anyone that needs revelations in this form for racing games just doesnt get it. For the previous review writer, it sounds like he had a bone to pick with EA and/or Prima. Go back to reviewing toasters dude, your input is way SKU'd.
Don't waste your money. Riddled with errors........2003-12-03
After this abomination, I may never buy another strategy guide again. I was expecting some real insight from this book, but it didn't teach me anything in regards to how to play this game better. The only thing of any value is the listing of the races which tell you what new items you will unlock and when. Unfortunately, even this isn't as good as it could be, as it is flat out wrong in many cases. I don't know what to trust anymore. And lastly, early on, when listing the game options, they mention how you can turn "Car Damage" on and off. But this feature isn't in the game! My feeling is that they rushed to put this book out and used a VERY early version of the game. When the final version of the game was released, rather than updating their strategy guide, they just left it as is. Very unprofessional in my opinion, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth for ALL strategy guides that will come after it. A total waste of money.

Book Description
This text provides an unusually accessible introduction to key scientific principles for understanding how the environment 'works'. It has been designed and written specifically for geography and environmental studies students who have little or no scientific training, and for students with some scientific training but who require a ready reference to relevant scientific topics.
The book will also meet the needs of teachers of geography and environmental studies who require a firmer grasp of those scientific principles which underpin their discipline. The authors, who have extensive experience of teaching students of geography, have written the book in as descriptive a way as possible, anticipating that it will be used principally on a 'self-study' basis.
The book deals with basic scientific principles in 'bite-sized' chunks but in addition provides a more detailed coverage of relevant 'special topics', including biochemistry, water and silicate minerals. Extensive use is made of cross-referencing which guide the reader to sections which should be understood, and to sections which explore particular topics further. The authors, who teach in the Geography Department, University of Liverpool, each combine a scientific background with long experience of teaching students of geography and environmental studies.
Ian Bradbury is a biologist by training with bachelors and masters degrees in agronomy and a PhD in ecology. John Boyle's undergraduate and postgraduate work was in the geological sciences. His subsequent work has focused on environmental chemistry, particularly in water bodies and their sediments. Andy Morse combined geography with physics as an undergraduate and then pursued doctoral research in atmospheric physics. His current interests include atmosphere-vegetation interactions and the effects of climate on health.

She's ecstatic until she discovers that Malcolm's idea of "business" isn't exactly the same as hers. Horrified, Molly storms out of the office. Within moments of stepping onto the cobblestoned streets of Paris, Molly is swept up in an adventure that defies her imagination. Sweet Dreams..........2007-07-29
I really enjoyed this pleasant, good natured book. It's perfect if you want a nice, romantic light read and aren't up to being challenged, which how I usually feel at the end of a long work day. Relaxing and perfect for those who like to read for awhile before going to sleep...
Terrible Book.......2007-02-26
First of all, I am not a book snob. I enjoy the sometimes silly, fun books that don't have great depth but are still an entertaining read.
That being said, this was probably one of the worst books I have ever read in my life. First of all, everything was absolutely formulaic. You could always tell what would happen next, and the cliches just kept coming. From a young male French bohemian artist who isn't looking for anything but a fun hookup to his rich, suave and debonair father, there is nothing new in the characters, or even any likable traits. The "heroine" is one of the most stupid that had ever come into fictional being. A "very smart" girl who moves from a small town to London, who is stuck in a job she feels is beneath her, decides to go to Paris for the weekend. More cliches, but if that were all, it would be at least bearable. This girl, however, is unbelievably naive. She meets the artist one night, and 3 or 4 hours later she is "in love" with him and planning their transnational relationship. When she finally sleeps with him, she doesn't get that he's "just not that into her." She cannot stand up for herself and is one of the most annoying characters I have ever read.
Still, I could have read all this and just ended up disliking the book immensely, but not wanting to tear my hair out, if it wasn't for the part about the father.
The "cleverly and subtly included" hints and clues (note sarcasm) about her father were in actuality totally obvious. And what happens at the end is much too contrived and based on too many coincidences that don't even really make any sense. A deus ex machina is not the way to end a story, sorry.
This story is totally unbelievable and left me wondering how on earth something like this could be published. Don't waste your money.
My own Weekend in Paris.......2007-02-10
Absolutely true story... Two weeks ago, I had to go away to Paris for the weekend due to a family matter. I had 3 hours to pack, dress, and get to the airport. To avoid dying from boredom, I rummaged through by book collection for something to keep me sane. And, there it was "Weekend in Paris".
I must say I was completely entertained. There was no time to buy a guide book and it was fun looking and encountering the landmarks the author described in her book. She also noted a lot of French words and phrases which actually came in handy.
If you find yourself jet setting through Paris for the weekend, I would totally recommend this book. If you're looking for something with depth and meaning, keep looking!
PS. Just in case you're wondering, my weekend was nothing like Molly's.
Weekend in Paris.......2006-12-22
Weekend in Paris is a great book about Molly Clearwater's trip to Paris for the weekend.
It is a very fun and interesting book and if you want to have a big laugh I really recommends you to read the book.
Molly is a fun and person who always gets in trouble and makes mistakes. I think that the book is fun because you can read about her thoughts and that makes the book very fun.
When I started to read the book I thought that it was a boring book, but when I've finished it I was really sad because it was over. I wanted the book to be much longer than it was (389 pages).

Great for reading at the Doctor's office.......2006-10-22
While I enjoyed the humor, it didn't suck me in. I love books that you look up and it 3am. I took more than a week to finish the book, just because I couldn't stay focused in the beginning. I have enjoyed other books by Robyn Sisman, but this one left me annoyed at the end.

Customer Reviews:
Great walking tours.......2007-07-22
I love the walking tours of Paris in this book. This book has seven walks with easy street by street directions. There's an Islands Walk that takes you to Notre Dame and the Deportation Memorial (but my favorite part is past the pet market). The Left Bank Walk takes you down Boulevard St-Germain (but the highlight for me is the place Furstenburg, a scenic hidden square that's been in tons of films). The Marais Walk hits the antique shops in Village St-Paul and the beautiful place des Vosges. The Major Sights walk is perfect if you only have a little time in Paris because it hits the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysees. There's a Montmartre Walk past the Basilica Sacre Coure and the restaurant that was featured in the movie Amelie. And there's also a Culinary Walk (hitting some of the best food shops and markets in Paris) and a Da Vinci Code Walk (that takes you to the places featured in the book and movie). A great way to experience Paris!
