Get this book.......2004-10-22

I have never wrote a review before but had to with this book. Of the 3 wi fi books I bought here, this one stood apart from the others. Especaily if you are looking to scale up from 1 or 2 user networks.

Best book for the money about 802.11x.......2004-08-09

I purchased this book for a good in-depth overview on the 802.11x protocol. It went above and beyond my expectations. Clearly explained topics and well written chapters come together for one of the best technical books I have read to date. Excellent coverage of the RF properties of 802.11x.Covers all the areas one must consider if building a WLAN, WWAN, or WMAN. This book really opened my eyes to the potential of wi-fi and its applications, I especially appreciated the authors inclusion of various economic aspects in the book. i.e potential for profit in WISP industry, and cost/efficiency analysis of wired VS. wireless networks.

An Easy Way to Understand WiFi.......2003-12-17

I checked it out at the library to get a better understanding of the WiFi technologies and how they can be deployed. As a new marketing executive for a WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider), I found the information easy to comprehend with enough depth to allow a non-technical person like myself to actively participate in highly-technical meetings. I immediately added it to my Christmas wish list.

I recently bought this book after I borrowed it from my local library. I tried to find it a second time, and it's always checked-out in all four branches of our library system. The call number is 004.678 OHR. Out of all the 802.11 books, this is one that is the most packed with the real information you need to install an 802.11 network - antenna theory, how to do site surveys, how networks connect together, how to do an as-built. The book also describes how to debunk and overcome the perceived barriers that keep people from using wireless - security, interference, regulatory issues... If I was to recommend one single book on 802.11 to anyone, this would be the one. It definitely earns its five stars.

This book fills in all the gaps!.......2003-09-08

I just got the book recently from Amazon. I was really impressed. I love it. I got just the right and meticulous amount of detail I was expecting compared to other books I've read on the subject. What was really great about this book was all the real-life scenarios which were taken up in detail as compared to other "theoretical" publications. The people who wrote this book really seem to know what WiFi is all about. I would really recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to deploy WiFi networks quickly. Its a great book from both the technical and business perspective.

I first purchased this book two years ago. I have used it in every labor studies class that I have taken and I wouldn't dream of not using it. The definitions are precise and clear. I feel so strongly about this book that I recently purchased another copy for my Local Union President. This book is a must have.

This book has a lot of history and definitions included. Awsome book. Every worker should know the struggle labor has indured.

A Masterwork of workers under masters.......2000-08-01

For 12 bucks, no one could find a more rich, and most important, more concise compendium of the American labor movement and American labor at work. Murray et. al. have done a service to everyone with this thoughtful, experienced addition to the record of American toilers.

A different kind of murder mystery book. I the plot was original and the story was laugh out loud funny. I didn't like the ending because *spoiler alert* the main guy and girl never got together.

Atypical writer meets her creation.

Maggie, a bestselling author of Regency detective novels, gets a nasty surprise when her fictional creations spring to life and plague her apartment. The debonair and not-quite-so-cool-in-the-modern-world hero and his bumbling but kind sidekick have multiple adventures and keep Maggie on her toes.

An amusing peek into the publishing world, never to be taken as more than tounge in cheek.

Bouncy little story and jolly surmise, I happily whiled away the hours reading.

Not a total flop, but darned near it!.......2005-04-01

I was really excited when I picked this book up at a discount book store. I had read the back cover and was intriqued by the premise of the storyline. I went home and quickly sat down with a nice cup of coffee and started reading. The story was great, the characters lovable, there was mystery, humor, and a wonderful sense that this book had a lot to offer. Boy was I mistaken.

After introducing all the characters and the fun of 2 book characters suddenly showing up in the authors living room, there were about 30 pages of fun while the characters become accustomed to our century's way of life, the story just became bogged down. The problem was the story just kept repeating the same stuff, over and over. It got so boring I wanted to throw the book in the trash, but was already commited to finishing it. The ending didn't get any better.

While not a complete waste of time, I wouldn't recommend this book if you have something else to read.

A blending of my favorite genres.......2005-03-26

If I could, I'd arrange it so that Ms. Michaels wrote nothing but Maggie's adventures. This series combines several of my favorite genres: Regency romance, romantic-comedy, and mystery. (Granted, I rarely read straight mysteries.)

Maggie (other than her smoking habit) is who I want to grow up to be: a successful author with several good friends and a place she is happy living. I can't get enough of her, or Sterling, or Bernie, or any reoccuring character in this series!

I'm generally better with reviews - but it's like trying to review a friend. You forget which qualities to point out because you think everyone should realize how amazing they are.

Impossible to Not Put Down.......2004-07-12

Well, sadly I bought the hardcover. It seemed interestng and at first I eagerly read on. She's a wacky novelist who smokes and devours M&Ms, and then her hero comes alive. And if things got any more interesting from that point on, a funeral would have broken out.

Saint Just is BORING and his talk is so, well, everybody else has said it and I'll say it too. CONTRIVED!

I hear rumors that a plot developes, where? I quit reading because I couldn't find a pulse in the darn thing. And now I hear there's a sequel? Dear God, nooo!

Don't even bother with it, lest of course your morbid curiosity demands it. In that case, check it out from the library or read it at the bookstore, just don't buy it. It's terrible.

I got about 150+ pages into it without hopes of a plot, and as one reviewer said the contrivence of the will is so outlandish it hurt to read it.
