Nothing You Can't Get On The Net.......2006-01-27

Basically everything in this guide you can get on the Internet and more. Your not told how to get any of the important things you buy this for like How to unlock moves and characters and after an hour of toying with this you finally get up and take it back. I went on the net and got character moves, special arenas, and characters. Do yourself a favor to save cash and just get everything off a cheat and codes website.

a complete waste of money.......2005-02-22

The guide provides a very brief, uninformative overview of the different game modes, an incomplete list of individual character moves, and a compendium of the capsules available that only vaguely points to how they can be obtained.

Many questions that people will have about the game go completely ignored, such as:

- how to specifically unlock various characters, locations, and the dragon arena mode

- how the character stats function and how points added to a stat affect performance

- how to perform certain moves and techniques like fusion

- where to find the dragon balls, money, capsules, and events in Dragon Universe mode

This book should not be considered a "game guide", but rather a limited overview. Save your money and do a search for tips and guides on the internet instead.

Not What I Was Expecting.............2005-02-16

Okay, I was waiting for 2 weeks for this to arrive in the mail.Every day i'd get more and more frustrated because it didn't come, and it was not worth the wait. I bought this from Walmart, and it said it told you where and HOW to get each and every capsule(in those words).That was absolutley wrong , it has a generic explanation on how to collect capsules , but not individualy.It says where to get them , and in wich scenario, but not how, You're better off just looking on the internet.

print guides are dead.......2004-11-18

I'm a big DBZ fan so I got the Prima print guide for Budokai 3 and the iGuide (which is a game guide on dvd) and I think that the iGuide gives you so much more. For the same money you get these really cool, funny videos and all the same info. The Prima guide says that they reveal all 500 capsules...but its just a bunch of screen captures. the prima book has an interview with the associate producer of the game, but the iguide has a video interview with the lead designer of the ENTIRE SERIES and some other cool bonus videos, too.

I dont know why you can't get the iguide on amazon, but trust me, the prima book is a bad deal.

Average historical romance.......2007-02-13

And my review:

I bought this book because I'd really enjoyed another of this author's books, MCKENNA'S PROMISE. And while THE GUARDIAN was an okay book, it did not come close to measuring up.

Elizabeth Lane's sense of history is very good. She gave me a real feel for the time period without ever sounding like a history textbook. However, I felt that the character development was lacking in this book. I could see why the hero would love the heroine (she was such a strong woman), but I had a hard time seeing why she'd fall in love with him. He was a honorable man, for sure, but he had so much hatred inside of him that it started to overwhelm his good aspects after a while. Sure, he was different by the end of the book, but it was a long time in coming.

Since the character development was lacking, I kind of felt that convenience and sex were really the only reasons why the hero and heroine were together. And it did stretch the bounds of believability that a woman could find sex so enjoyable so soon after childbirth (barely a month had passed). Not realistic, but then, it is a romance novel, so maybe that can been forgiven.

Maybe I just expected more of this author, since I'd enjoyed her work so much more in the past. If you want to try Elizabeth Lane, I recommend getting a copy of MCKENNA'S PROMISE. That book was really good. Unfortunately, I can't say the same of THE GUARDIAN. It was just okay, but nothing to rave about. If you can find it at a garage sale or a thrift store, go ahead. Otherwise, save your money.

Enjoyable story.......2006-05-22

The Guardian is an amazing story combining historical romance with folklore.

While traveling west with her minister husband and other missionaries, Charity Bennett finds herself alone and unsure about her husband's decision to go west where so much is uncertain.

Black Sun, an Arapaho doctor on a spirit quest, finds her alone and injured and cares for her, though he cannot wait until he can leave her with other white people.

I was further pulled into the story by the folklore that Black Sun shared with Charity, I felt it was very meaningful to the story and helped make the story more than just historical romance. Elizabeth Lane's imagery of both the prairie lands and the difficulties faced by Charity and Black Sun wrapped into my imagination filling every sense. The Guardian is an enjoyable story for a rainy afternoon.

A stellar ending to the trilogy!.......2007-06-08

The evil sorcerer, Schlechter Zauberer, has managed to steal the Chaos Cup from the current winning team. Unfortunately for the team members, they noticed the sorcerer and tried to stop him; thus the team exists no more. The huge Chaos Cup may be a trophy made from what appears to be skulls, but it is also so much more. By possessing it, Zauberer has unlimited dark magic. And Zauberer has plans of vengeance on Blood Bowl player Dunk Hoffnung (with the Bad Bay Hackers). To ensure no one kills Dunk before he does, Zauberer lets everyone knows that anyone that harms even a hair on Dunk's head will be immediately executed by black lightning. It does not take long to make everyone believe it either!

Captain Pegleg is thrilled by the easy touchdowns. The fans and advertisers are not. Since Pegleg will not allow Dunk to sit out of the games, Dunk does everything he can to make sure no one is stupid enough to get near him. (Because we all know that Pegleg makes sure Dunk has the ball constantly.) But it is all about to come to a head when Zauberer zaps the entire stadium of the final Blood Bowl game to the demonic realm. Dunk and the rest of the Bad Bay Hackers must play not only to win the championship, but also to keep the entire kingdom from the Blood God's grasp.

***** Author Matt Forbeck does an outstanding job bringing all his characters to vivid, breathing, heart beating life. This includes the undead characters! Listening to Bob Bifford (vampire) and Jim Johnson (ogre) narrating all the Blood Bowl games are some of the best sections of the entire trilogy. The sport of Blood Bowl has often been described as "nearly-organized chaos" by its many critics; they are right on target too. Here, in book three, readers learn all about the backgrounds of Dunk and Pegleg. The author throws in some surprising characters as well. Very highly recommended. *****

Fast, furious and fun!.......2007-04-23

A sports book for the fantasy genre is a novelty and a treat! A real fun read, lots of clever witticisms and great use of tie-ins with modern day professional sports and advertising.
