Never liked the title, but there's enough solid information in the book to make it worth the read. Trading is 90+ percent psychology and money management. Otherwise brilliant people can perform miserably using a top notch proven trading system without these 2 factors in check....
NUTS AND BOLTS MISSING.......2007-09-03
Great theory, a stock that goes up 15 points will cover losses of 14 stocks that go down 1 point so control your losses and come out 1 point ahead. No practical information on how to set up a trading system, only generalizations. This is the same book this guy wrote 10 years ago.
Great suggestions like be like Warren Buffet. Don't waste your money.

From the 4 stars and the fact that I got both the older edition and new edition of the book, I think this book is good. But constructive criticism will be given here instead.
In the foreword, The author admitted his confusing explanation of the topic on "expectancy" in his older edition, which was improved in the new edition. I just wished he could have improved the technical sections as well.
explanations for deeper technical aspects of trading strategy and indicator are vague and require additional resources for explanation. such as the section on explaining ADX indicator and Perry Kaufman's system are very vague. these sections of the book are very confusing and slow to get through, yet, I have learned a great deal in searching other sources for explanations on these topics. So for trading strategies and indicator, technical stuff, this book is confusing. but I like how the author gives his opinions on the effectiveness of various tools out there. cus we all know the tools are there, just need to know which ones are good and how they should be used.
other parts are wonderful. good book. read the other positive comments, I agree.
THE book for mathematical systems traders.......2007-07-30
I've read a great many books about trading and investing, and in my opinion this book is the most informative and educational book on the market for traders who trade non-discretionary systems, or would like to learn the proper methods for doing so. His discussions of risk management, position sizing, and obtaining a real edge in the markets are second to none. Discretionary traders and investors will also benefit from this book, though systems are his focus.
I don't understand how some of the other reviewers could call this book nonsense. It is not nonsense. As a trader who trades every day, I can tell you that you will learn and improve if you read and understand this book.
Until you clearly understand risk management you do not have a significant long term edge in the markets. This book is one of the few out there that can teach you this.

I did enjoy this offering from Chua; it is an informative read. It is not overly technical. There is, however, a shortage of intra-day strategies.The bulk of this text focused on swing-trade techniques.I am ticked about the CD-ROM that was advertised to be included with this book. Everything changed after the release date; no CD. The Sammy site offers the CD, but does not deliver the product(spam trap). Requests for an explanation get no response. Yo' Sammy, what's the deal? I want my stuff, man!

The Microfinance Poverty Assessment Tool was developed as a much-needed tool to increase transparency on the depth of outreach of microfinance institutions (MFIs). It is intended to assist donors and investors to integrate a poverty focus into their appraisals and funding of financial institutions through a more precise understanding of the clients served by these institutions. Used in conjunction with an institutional appraisal of financial sustainability, governance, management, staff and systems, a poverty assessment allows for a more holistic understanding of an MFI. The Microfinance Poverty Assessment Tool provides accurate data on the poverty levels of MFI clients relative to people living in the same community. It uses a more standardized, globally applicable, and rigorous set of indicators than those used by conventional microfinance targeting tools. The tool employs principal component analysis to construct a multidimensional poverty index that allows the poverty outreach of MFIs to be compared within and across countries. Originally field tested in four countries on three continents, it has subsequently been applied by microfinance donors and MFI networks in numerous other countries. Although the Microfinance Poverty Assessment Tool was designed for microfinance, the tool can also be used to measure the poverty levels of clients of other development programs. Paleomagnetism is the study of the fossil magnetism in rocks. It has been paramount in determining that the continents have drifted over the surface of the Earth throughout geological time. The fossil magnetism preserved in the ocean floor has demonstrated how continental drift takes place through the process of sea-floor spreading. Book Description
This major, two-volume work is devoted to the methods of the spectral theory of operators and the important role they play in infinite-dimensional analysis and its applications. Central to this study is the theory of the expansion of general eigenfunctions for families of commuting self-adjoint or normal operators. This enables a consideration of commutative models which can be applied to the representation of various commutation relations. Also included, for the first time in the literature, is an explanation of the theory of hypercomplex systems with locally compact bases. Applications to harmonic analysis lead to a study of the infinite-dimensional moment problem which is connected to problems of axiomatic field theory, integral representations of positive definite functions and kernels with an infinite number of variables. Infinite-dimensional elliptic differential operators are also studied. Particular consideration is given to second quantization operators and their potential perturbations, as well as Dirichlet operators. Applications to quantum field theory and quantum statistical physics are described in detail. Different variants of the theory of infinite-dimensional distributions are examined and this includes a discussion of an abstract version of white noise analysis.
