This book is NOT THE RIGHT ONE!!!! It is only half of the book for intermediate accounting. I will now have to re-buy the entire book in order to continue on. Total waste of money!

The study guide is helpful when used along with the textbook. There is a summary of each chapter with plenty of T/F questions to determine if you understand the material from the chapters, and there are detailed explanations for false answers.

This book along with the Student Survival Guide was a great help to me. I just walked out of class with a 100 on my last test! Now for the final. Not near as nervous because these books have pushed me to remember the information that I normally wouldn't. Great buy!!

This was a pretty good study guide to go along w/ chapters 1-14 of kieso's intermediate accounting textbook (vol.1, 11th edition). Some of the lecture notes my prof. used were taken directly from the study guide - so there was some reptition. But there are also test questions such as T/F, multiple choice, and examples/self-tests for you to work on as you go through each chapter that helped out.
The text is pretty good and thorough for intermediate accounting - sometimes the study guide was a good help as far as summarizing ideas with key terms/key ideas in bold. The T/F questions and multiple choice helped as far as narrowing down important concepts and trying to gather what was really important - this is beyond the homework/and reading the text.
Overall - a pretty good supplement to the textbook and worth getting if you are serious about accounting/business/finance in the long run.

Great help for college class.......2002-04-22
I am currently taking Intermediate Accounting. This book is a supplement to the text. It has been very helpful working through problem that are similar to homework assignments and problems on the test. It has 15 - 20 multiple choice questions at the back of each chapter that are simmular to what you find on the test. It helps you to understand what the author is trying to teach you in the text. Highly reccommended if you want to do well in the class and understand the concepts taught. I plan on buying the next volume for chapters 15-25.

The symposium on high salinity tolerant plants, held at the University of Al Ain in December 1990, dealt primarily with plants tolerating salinity levels exceeding that of ocean water and which at the same time are promising for utilization in agriculture or forestry.

This volume (1) deals with mangroves and inland high salinity tolerant plants and ecosystems and is divided into the following categories: 1. Vegetation analyses and descriptions of mangroves; 2. Ecosystem analyses; 3. Physiological analyses; 4. Utilization of mangroves and saltmarsh plants; 5. Soil and water analyses. Volume 2 deals with the improvement of salinity tolerance for traditional crops under marginal soils and irrigation water and is published in `Tasks for Vegetation Science' series (TAVS) Vol. 28.

C N Yang, one of the greatest physicists of the 20th Century, was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1957, jointly with T D Lee, for their investigation of the relationship (parity symmetry) between left- and right-handed states, leading to a discovery that astounded the world of physics — the nonconservation of parity by elementary particles and their reactions. With R L Mills, he created the concept of non-abelian gauge theories, the foundation of the modern description of elementary particles and forces. Professor Yang has worked on a wide range of subjects in physics, but his abiding interests have been symmetry principles, particle physics, and statistical mechanics.
In 1999, a symposium was held at the State University of New York at Stony Brook to mark the retirement of C N Yang as Einstein Professor and Director of the Institute for Theoretical Physics, and to celebrate his many achievements. A noteworthy selection of the papers presented at the symposium appears in this invaluable volume in honor of Professor Yang.

PARODY PAR EXCELLENCE!.......2002-06-14
This is a masterpiece, from the Foreplay tot the Prosodomy. A voluminous work, it includes everybody from Chaucer to Russell Edson. Aldous Huxley observed that parodies and caricatures are the most penetrating of criticisms. Among those that try their own gifted hands at their famous predecessors' work are John Keats (Edmund Spenser), Lewis Carroll (Wordsworth, Longfellow and Tennyson), Cyril Connolly (Aldous Huxley) and John Updike (Jack Kerouac). A few of my favorites are "Anne Sexton's" From The Brothers Grimm to Sister Sexton to Mother Goose: One Transmogrification, by David Cummings, in which a spider comes to warn Miss Muffet against her un-American health food breakfast; "Sylvia Plath's" Ragout, by William Zaranka himself, and "Allen Ginsberg's" Squeal, by Louis Simpson:
"... They came here to L.A.,
Flexing their members, growing hair,
Planning immense unlimited poems,
More novels, more poems, more autobiographies."
But that's merely scratching the surface. This unique anthology is best digested over a couple of weeks or months, and never fails to yield more gems. Brand X Poetry is a treasure trove of humor, a book that one returns to again and again. The index of first lines, titles and authors comes in handy of course.
A real gem........1998-10-08
This collection of poetic parody, written by dozens of authors and edited by William Zaranka, is one of my most treasured books. I return to it time and again for inspiration and amusement, often chuckling out loud at the brilliant writing Zaranka has assembled. I deeply regret not purchasing a dozen copies or more to share with friends before it went out of print.
