Great help for college class.......2002-04-22

I am currently taking Intermediate Accounting. This book is a supplement to the text. It has been very helpful working through problem that are similar to homework assignments and problems on the test. It has 15 - 20 multiple choice questions at the back of each chapter that are simmular to what you find on the test. It helps you to understand what the author is trying to teach you in the text. Highly reccommended if you want to do well in the class and understand the concepts taught. I plan on buying the next volume for chapters 15-25.

Excellent Insight.......2002-02-10

Digital Mantrap provides a wealth of insight about health, nutrition and exercise. Most of the information I had never previsously considered when setting my training goals. I am an average everyday person who enjoys physical exercise. My trainer introduced me to James Autio's book, and the Woolly Mammoth workout last June. My workouts, eating habits and overall lifestyle have been positively influenced ever since.
You too will be influenced and find yourself throwing out all of those top selling fad books you have accumulated after reading this entertaining and highly informative book.

Jim Autio has done his homework. This is a big book, full of detailed information on health, nutrition and exercise. Many of the conclusions are surprising in light of today's fad diets, but the evidence is well-documented and carefully explained. If you want to live a long productive life, you'll never again go on a fad diet--you'll, instead, change your entire lifestyle, at least as far as nutrition and exercise are concerned. As an exercise physiologist dedicated to reading the scientific literature every month, I was surprised at how much I learned from this single book.

I was rocked by the section on digital boy. I have two sons. I have coached youth sports for both my 13 and 8 year old for five years. DIGITAL BOY ON THE ROAD TO DIGITAL MAN is solid and on target. I have witness this exact scenario a number of times. Fat parents, shoveling lard, shoveling kids into a minivan, and than driving through McDonalds again.--disgusting. While my children's diets need some tweaking, they look like WOOLY MAMMOTH BOY by comparison.

This new book is devoted to the problem of the frequency dispersion of optical constants of inorganic glasses. It is the only source providing a comprehensive discussion of this topic on a unified physical and analytical basis.Optical Constants of Inorganic Glasses presents thorough descriptions of the underlying physical phenomena, analytical models for the optical constants dispersion, and detailed information on the optical constants and related optical characteristics of glasses. The broad scope of the book includes such topics as general relationships for the response of a solid to the effect of an electromagnetic field, and specific features of optical spectrum formation for a glass and the resulting constants. The text details methods for reconstructing the spectra of optical constants from raw experimental spectra of glasses, and provides data on the spectra of optical constants in the IR and VUV ranges and on the IR band parameters for inorganic glasses. It includes factors responsible for the behavior of the refractive index dispersion of glasses in the transparency range.The reference fully details the opportunities provided by the recent version of dispersion analysis for glasses based on the specific analytical model for the complex dielectric constant. Until now, this information was only available in Russian journals. A large quantity of never-before-published data on numerical values of optical constants in the medium and far IR and of IR band frequencies and intensities is given for a wide variety of inorganic glasses. For vitreous silica, data on the optical constants are also given for the broad wavelength range in the VUV.Optical Constants of Inorganic Glasses provides the only comprehensive review of available dispersion formulas and methods for interpolating and extrapolating the refractive indices of glasses in the transparency range. Totally entertaining !!....SEX TOYS OF THE GODS is just plain fun. The characters are larger than life in a Hollywood Way, and keep the reader amused throughout. Jason, our "hero" is the kind of guy you could bring home to your mother, as well as a guy who rocks the bedroom. Have fun with this one!

I LOVE this book!.......2004-09-04

Christian McLaughlin joins Robert Rodi and Armistead Maupin at the heights of "gay" humor. But what makes all of them so funny is that they do not limit themselves to "gay" but examine the intertwined networks of real life. Every story connects to the next, and in the hands of a poor author you end up with a tangled fishing line. With McLaughlin, you end up with a macrame (sp?) owl.

Sex Toys takes the stories of a rock star, a wanna be, an actress, a nice, slightly confused guy, a totally uptight (and totally corruptable) chick, and maybe even a psychopath, and lets you see the overlaps and effects. Some characters may seem extreme, but caricature is part of the fun. Since only a couple of these characters are actually gay, calling this a gay novel limits it's appeal. The characters are well drawn and engaging, and the loops of the story will give you great laughs.

I just hope there is more writing by McLaughlin out there!

I never had such a good time reading. I was laughing out loud. The characters are great, most of them redefining the word sleazy. Thank god Jason appears to be normal. I hope there is a sequel or at least one in the works because this story is not over. Finishing this was painful, I could have read on forever, a soap opera at its finest.

As with his witty debut, "Glamourpus," Christian McLaughlin pours a bubbly mixture of pop culture and real-life humor that packs a punch. "Sex Toys of the Gods" gives his readers a titillating look inside the Hollywood machine, like "Valley of the Dolls" with a buzz. His second novel will have you laughing out loud and turning the next page faster than you can sing "Shake It Up." After two rounds from this hilarious young writer, I'm ready for another!
