This book is an excellent aid in the study of chemistry. It explains concepts from chemistry far better than most textbooks. The only problem is that there are multiple mistakes throughout the book among the worked out problems and examples. I hope the publisher and author read this and makes the necessary corrections. It would be a much better book without all the mistakes.

I'm in a Registered Nurse program and was struggling to understand chemistry and the textbook that the school had supplied. I had failed one exam and several dry lab assignments so I bought this book, referred to it often, did the exercises and exam questions in it and I ended up passing with an A, but also with the top score in the class! The practice exercises are great because they explain why an answer is correct-that way if you didn't get the right answer the first time you can see what you did wrong. I would recommend this book to any beginning chemistry student

This is a truly remarkable book. It is as if the author is sitting right next to you and listening to your mind as you read page after page and as questions arise in your mind, the answers begin to unfold. The author anticipates them and answers them.

This is a must book if you wish for a painless refresher on the very basic fundamentals of chemistry explained and taught in a very friendly and understanding style.

Chapter 3 on atomic structure is a masterpiece. You just cannot afford to miss this chapter ! It is the centerpiece of this book as far as I am concerned. The author does not rush. Book Description

Walking from a parked car to a shop, driving to a planned or unplanned shopping centre and virtual exchanges through the Internet are all part of 21 ^st century trips in human activity spaces. Can these diversified types of trips be linked in a common framework?

In a bold and innovative analysis, the author shows how such a diversity of trips can be linked by a universal vision of spatial interaction modelling. He uses one special differential equation, describing exchanges between time lines, to model both real and virtual trips to shopping centres and through the Internet. These theoretical time lines are part of a time-space convergence, a concept that appeared in the time geography literature at the end of the 1960s. Whilst the spatial contexts are different, the process of time exchanges is the same for both real and virtual trips. It is shown how distance decay is fundamental to this type of interaction and is dependent on the time boundary defining the exchange. Time boundaries can be defined as the trading hours of shopping centres or by the rotation of the Earth. The startling conclusion is that distance does matter, not only in walking to shops, but in defining the movement of internet traffic.
