Book Review.......2000-04-23
I liked this book because it had more and better examples than the competition such as Lambers Review Course. It will not repeat practice excersices. It has pointers and tips on how to build knowledge in a logical and reinforcing way. The first time I took the exam I paid $1000 for a Lambers Review and I did not pass any part of the test. The second time, using Wileys Review books ( $129.99 approx.)I passed two parts.

Book Description
This is the first publication of AIJA's Antitrust Sub-Commission of the International Business Law Standing Commission. The book is the result of the reports from twenty different jurisdictions for the working session organised by the Antitrust Sub-Commission during the Annual Congress of AIJA in Sydney in September 1998. The reports were based upon a questionnaire prepared by the General Reporter and Editor and generally reflect legislation up until January 1999. The purpose of this book is to discuss the critical issues in applying antitrust laws to the media sector, having in mind three main issues, namely deregulation and convergence in the media industry worldwide, the effect of antitrust laws on the new media environment, and the balance between sector-specific regulation and antitrust rules.

Book Description
Global climate change is the result of a complex system of atmospheric processes and their products. A main factor in this system is the increase in surface level ultraviolet (UV)-B radiation, which is known not only to cause human melanoma but also to affect terrestrial and aquatic life in general. This book illuminates the effects of UV-B on global agriculture. It reviews the assessment methodology, the mechanisms of action and the effects of elevated UV-B on crops, weeds and pathogens.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent book! (I scored 800).......2005-02-05
This is an truely excellent book. I am not fortunate to have a very deep chemistry curriculum available in the schools in my city (it is actually well recognized as being terrible) but after completing all the chemistry courses available to me I ordered this book off Amazon and realized how much I did not know. I probably spent about 30 mins a night every night give or take for a month, near the end studying several hours everyday. The lab questions in this book, what I found to be the most difficult part, are largely useless and are not on the actual exam but are still good practice.
I would however advise this book for only those seeking to achieve high scores because the content is somewhat difficult and demanding. Good luck
Extraneous info...myriad typos.......2004-06-02
This book has a lot of information in it, but the extraneous matter shifts your focus away from the important stuff that's actually covered on the test. The practice tests in the book in no way reflect the real ones. Worst of all, there are countless mistakes, typos, and missing answers. Don't buy this book.
Long and Detailed Review.......2003-06-08
The Barron's SAT II Chemistry book is extremely long and detailed and has tests that exaggerate difficulty. Each chapter does a good job of covering the core material but it also adds alot of extra information that will probably not be seen on the test. In fact, in the nuclear chemistry section, the book goes into sub atomic particles known as quarks, which havent been seen on the test in ages. The practice tests at first are very pessimistic and are quite difficult.
Yet, if you do study this book completely, take the practice test and correct your answers, there is no reason you shouldnt get an 800 on the SAT II. I found the exaggerated difficulty annoying at sometimes, but, its a tough way of forcing you to do good. In short, if you have plenty of time to prepare for the SAT II, buy this book, and do it cover to cover. Your results should be wonderful.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!!!.......2002-10-13
Way too much unneccessary information. It's too compact. Most of the stuff do not appear on the real SAT II. It will give you a migraine every time you intend to study from it. But if you do buy this book, stay away from the laboratory setups, and do not attempt to memorize anything. It's useless and come test day you will be juggling pieces of rubbish in your head.
Chem SATII Review by a Chemistry Teacher.......2002-05-29
An excellent Chem SATII prep guide--includes 5 practice tests with correct answers and their explanations, test breakdowns by subject matter, and chemistry content summaries by topic.
Cautions:
Be aware that there are some typos/incorrect answers to test questions. The book also emphasizes laboratory set-ups and some chemical reactions that aren't likely to be part of ANY high school chemistry curriculum for safety reasons (i.e., collection of H2S and HCl gases); nor are they part of most current Chem SAT II tests.
Average customer rating:

Customer Reviews:
Good material, thats it.......2007-06-04
I am an above average student taking Honors Chemistry. I got this book because I had used the Barron's series of SAT II review books before. The material in this book was good, it has very good explanations, the lab setups were descriptive and overall the explanations were very helpful. Then I moved on to the practice tests. Going through the answers to the practice tests, I made an alarming discovery, some of the answers were blatantly incorrect. The book kept switching endothermic and exothermic reactions on its test answers (for example, they had the graph of the required activation energy for a specific reaction however it was incorrectly labeled as being endothermic when it was really exothermic) For questions 100 - 115 on the test, if statements A and B were true and CE, then there would be no explanation for the answers at all. On occasions, the book said that information on a specific topic could be found on page X but once I got there it was nowhere to be found. There were other, numerous incorrect answers that they said were actually correct.
So overall, the book has very good information and it is a good study aid, but you must make sure that when you take a practice test you actually check the answers that the book provides to make sure that they are correct because on several occasions, the answers they provide are incorrect.
THANK YOU FOR AN 800!.......2006-10-11
I credit my 800 on SAT Chemistry mostly to this book (partly to McGraw-Hill's). It has an impressive depth of explanation that is easy to follow, and doesn't miss a thing.
EXCELLENT MATERIAL.......2006-07-04
This book, as the title suggests, is an excellent review book for the SAT II Chemistry. I found that other prep book such as Kaplans was completely useless compared to this one. The Barrons book offers many practice tests which are a bit harder than the actual test. I got mostly 780s and 1 800. However on the Kaplans test, I got lower scores (760, 780). Besides the tests, this book explains the experimental section (which many books lack) of the AP Chemistry test very well. It even gives you an organized table of physical properties of commonly tested chemicals. Although the book may look dissapointingly thin, it is a must for all SAT II Chemistry takers. On the real test, I got an 800.
my savior. .......2005-12-24
i had a chemistry teacher who went over the entire acids&bases unit in a week, and im not a fan of our textbook. My whole review was based on this book, and i got a 800 on the exam. This book does a very thorough job of covering everything(maybe a little bit more) you need to know, and the practice exams are a teeny bit harder than the real test which means u will be very well prepared. I recommend going over this book fully(buy it, mark in it, et cetera), then borrow the princeton review book from the library or something to do the practice tests and skim over the contents because it's a bit more organized. don't bother with the kaplan book. it sucks.
Well organized, but little practice questions........2005-06-06
This is a good book except for the fact that it lacks enough practice questions. It provides a very good review but needs more practiºce material.

Book Description
On the eve of Passover, Henry Harmon gets himself locked in the basement of a kosher bakery that will be closed for the next eight days. Not a crumb in sight and with no way out, Henry prepares himself for death by starvation. He recalls the events that led him there: his complicated life as a divorced parent, his head-spinning involvement with a supermodel, a multi-million-dollar diamond heist tied to a Hasidic enclave in Brooklyn and his unsuspecting association with one of the world's slickest con men. The most disturbing recollections are of events some twenty years earlier, involving other people and other places, that eerily mirror his current predicament. Putting himself in the same kind of jeopardy and not learning from his mistakes, Henry wonders if it is a matter of unavoidable fate, a lack of awareness, or is he just plain nuts?
Customer Reviews:
fascinating .......2004-10-06
Besides being entertaining, I found Deva Ju to be very informative. It opened
my eyes to the lifestyle of Hasidic Jews. They seem to be alot like everyone
else. There are Hasidic good guys and Hasidic crooks. We know about Hasidic
scholars, but there also Hasidic goofs. They are all part of a story about
diamonds and murder. There are lots of plot twists and weird characters, but my
favorite parts were those involving the Hasidic community.
A good read!.......2004-09-23
The author has a light touch in the telling of an unusual crime story. I see
it as a combination of Alfred Hitchcock and Elmore Leonard. Hitchcock's
ordinary man caught up in extraordinary circumstances and Leonard's assortment of bizarre characters. In this case, there are international con men, a supermodel and an off-beat community of Hasidic Jews. Deva Ju is a breezy and fun read.
