It covers all the bases with respect to how within the financial sector companies can adjust to environmental change, include environmental reporting in their balance ledgers, and learn about the wide variety of investment products with origins in environmental issues being introduced into the market. Truly a pioneer in a field that commands attention.

An excellent overview of an emerging field. Discusses the development of environmental policies and products as well as the new products that are being created, such as pollution permits, weather derivatives, catastrophe bonds, etc. A good resource for those interested in hedging environmental risk and exploring the growing intersection between finance and the environment.

The establishment of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in December 1990 was a landmark in China's institutional transformation. With this in mind, the authors consider the factors relating to institutional change - such as changes in the financial system, the scale and structure of the stock market, operational efficiency and the regulatory system of the stock market. During the course of its development the Chinese stock market has experienced speculation, dramatic fluctuations and violations of market regulations of frequent and diverse natures. There is therefore urgent need for the discussion contained within this volume of best procedure policies for the establishment of a properly ordered and regulated market.

The authors assess the operational performance of listed companies, and changes in the external environment such as the impact of China's accession to the WTO on the stock market. The authors find that WTO accession will have a more serious impact on the more heavily protected agricultural sector and on capital-intensive industries such as automobile, instruments, cotton and wheat to name a few. They argue that the fundamental reason for the inefficiency of China's stock market is the weakness of the competitive mechanism leading to imperfect competition and rent-seeking activity.

This book will be of great interest to academics and researchers of Asian studies and money and finance. Multinational enterprise managers, as well as brokers, dealers, business economists and others involved in the global financial markets will also find this book of value.

Not All It Was Cracked Up To Be.......2000-07-02

Although I have found some of Petersons's guides helpful in the past, this was not one of them. The information contained in it is pretty basic as far as law school stats go. The book rarely provides any information that you can't find on a law school's website. Even the listings of law schools that it provides are available elsewhere for no charge. It is nice to have all the information put together, but the editors provide no student opinions or answers to other quality of life issues which need addressing. Overall, I was not pleased with this purchase at all.

A tender, plausible fable.......2006-11-27

I loved this book. Lately I've been passing along to other people my Christmas books and decorations that are not Christ-centered, and whittling down my collection to things that seem to me to be more germane to the season. This lovely book certainly will take a prominant place in my reworked collection. The story is beautifully told, and very plausible. If events didn't happen exactly like Ms Wilson imagines, well, they certainly could have!

The illustrations are also lovely, although I wish the Holy family had been more middle-Eastern looking. Oh well.

A Book that Brings the Spirit of Christmas.......2006-11-21

This book is so wonderful and it brought tears to my eyes! It made the events of the Christmas story real for me in a way nothing else ever had. The skillfull writing and inspired story will touch your heart and make you say a prayer of gratitude that that joyous event took place. A must have for any Christmas Book collection! I'm buying it for everyone I know for Christmas. :)

When former classmate Molly Shepherd returns to town, however, Beau finds himself torn between scars of the past and a desire for a different sort of future.

Molly returns for the Homecoming hoping to discover answers to her past. Since her mother's fatal accident, her father refused to discuss her mother. He destroyed even the pictures saying he could not bear the reminders. But Molly's tentative inquires into the past lead to silence that forces her to only delve deeper. Moreover her former high school crush on Beau runs abated even after ten years. But his scars from the past threaten any possible future for the without a bit of a holiday miracle.

A celebration of the holiday season, THE CHRISTMAS WIFE is a delightful holiday tale readers will treasure any time of year. Although Molly's coping skills with Beau's children seems a bit idealized, her need to create a new life and find answers to the past results in a well rounded character. Beau's foibles as his struggles with parenthood and priorities will strike just the right note of realism with the reader. Indeed, Sherry Lewis displays a knack for capturing the essence of the challenges of a single father in a small town. A delightful read, THE CHRISTMAS WIFE comes highly recommended.

In Serenity, Wyoming single father Beau Julander struggles between raising his two preadolescent children (Brianne and Nicky) and his career. Adding to his overworked schedule is his community volunteerism with this time serving as a member of the Serenity Homecoming Week Committee.

Molly Shepherd has returned for the homecoming festivities. Beau and Molly are attracted to one another and she is so good at nurturing his two kids. However, he carries scars from his ex-wife's desertion of him and their kids. Worse he expects her to leave once the week is over and he refuses to allow any woman to hurt his children like their mother did even if he loves her and she seems to return the feeling for the Julander trio.

This is an affectionate tender holiday fare about relationships. The lead male is a great overwrought character struggling between the right balance for his children, his work, and his community. Forget R&R for him. Molly is a bit too perfect though the audience will enjoy her Mary Poppins manner with the children she quickly loves. The unspiked eggnog crowd will be warmed with this delightfully serene tale.

Norris is one of the finest of short story writers. Because she is an artist rather than a commercial writer, she can devote her time to this literary form which is no longer lucrative. And how carefully crafted her stories are; they should be read aloud, in order to savor the music of their rhythms. Of special value is the insight given into mature lives. Writers who celebrate youth exist in abundance, but how many have mirrored the particular joys and sorrows of later years? The title story of this volume, which became a movie with Julie Harris and Jason Robards, Jr., does for maturity what Salinger's CATCHER IN THE RYE did for youth. It is more than a great holiday tale. It is a classic, alone well worth the price of the book!

"Colorado Christmas" contains three really special love stories written around Christmas time during the 1880s. Each one is special in its own way. There is an underlying Christian theme in each of them. What really made this book stand out is that these are good, clean, faith-based stories that can be enjoyed by several generations in a family, from grandma down to the granddaughter. Family values are also very strongly reflected within the stories. I think that this makes "Colorado Christmas" a very special book because it can be left out for everyone to read during the holiday season.

I really appreciated that the men, that the women fell in love with in this story, had integrity, valued honesty, and stood by their faith. That is so rare to see in most romances. The three stories themselves were also very interesting and enjoyable to read. Rosey Dow doesn't need to rely on sex scenes to be able to capture your attention. How refreshing!

I recommend "Colorado Christmas" to romance readers groups, Christian women's group and to families who want to be able to share reading wholesome Christian stories with each other. These stories will leave a warm place in your heart. Reading "Colorado Christmas" would be a great way to bring in the holiday season.
