Fundamentals of Confusion.......2007-09-13

Before I purchased this textbook it would have been necessary to know that a work book (Working Papers) had to accompany the textbook. Because it came with a CD I thought "How clever!" That would contain all the work book pages and a student would learn how to do data entry using software. But no. In the textbook there was no introductory section detailing how the CD was to coordinate with the textbook, just assignments within lessons that had to be completed within something called working papers. And it takes 4-6 weeks for the Workbook to arrive. I'm homeschoolong and this is very, very aggravating.

Book was a little more used than described, but hey for the price it couldn't be beat. To bad my sylabus was wrong and the professor changed the edition. Anyhow, seller was excellent. Fast shipping and I would reccommend.

My first accounting book.......2005-02-16

I used this textbook for my first accounting class and it was by far the best. Examples are all spelled out step by step and the numerous exercies and problems contribute to a higher level of understanding. Buy the workbook offered. It will save you a lot of time normally spent setting up the problem. Much better then some of the higher level books I have used.

This text was VERY helpful. The illustrations and examples were enough to explain the topic without havung to read the entire book.. Also the problems given at the end of each section were very good. Some were tough; however, the author starts you out with easy problems and works up to the more difficult ones. This text definitely is a good learning aid.

In Disoriented: Asian Americans, Law, and the Nation State, Robert Chang examines the current discourse on race and law and the implications of postmodern theory and affirmative action-all of which have largely excluded Asian Americans-in order to develop a theory of critical Asian American legal studies.

This guy doesn't know the difference between a philosopher and a filafel. Anyone with a glimmer of a formal training in philosophy would know it. He uses some philosophers' names to prove the most mundane of points that require no citation at all while using others with the deft of a second year graduate student.

Having come from a similar background as an Asian-American in the field of law, I can relate well to many of the experiences highlighted in the text. This work accurately describes the intricate philosophies and common experiences held by many Asian-Americans, thus allowing vital insight into a often misconstrued culture. It represents a fresh look into this important segment of the American society. The text flowed well and covered a broad range of stimulating issues. A very satisfying read.

Thoughtful and perceptive.......1999-12-15

I really enjoyed this book, and thought it was accessible (I read it in a couple days), at times humorous, and smart. It contains multiple essays on law and Asian America, one of which is a thought-provoking discussion of the place/placing of Asian Americans in the Affirmative Action debate, particularly for those of us who are used to looking at affirmative action through a different racial/ethnic lens. I am very impressed with this author.

Great Supplemental/Review Material.......2005-04-06

For as cheap as it is, this is a great value. It reviews every concept in physical chemistry very well. Obviously it won't replace your textbook, but it will at least cover subjects that maybe your textbook omits. The outline was last updated in 1989, but, honestly, physical chemistry has not changed in at least the last twenty or thirty years. Conceptually, all of physical chemistry has remained the same, so I would not say that this book is obsolete.

No good, stick to your textbook!.......2005-01-21

The examples are from a different planet! The text is very general in the important concepts and too detailed in the obscure stuff; this is definintley not intended for someone new to PCHEM. Stick to you textbook, like Atkins, which probably has better explanations and problems.

GOOD, BUT OBSOLETE CONTENTS.......2003-03-02

The over-five hundred pages that make-up this "Schaum's Outline of Physical Chemistry" were dedicated to giving overview of every aspect of the subject. The book's presentations and analyses are easy-to-follow; and would be appreciated by any Physical Science undergrad.
I valued its exploits in the fields of: Thermodynamics, Equilibrium Properties, Chemical Kinetics, and Intermolecular Forces. Its information are concise; yet, detailed enough. There are both tutorials and worked examples in every chapter: hence, making it a fine revision tool.
However, bear in mind that the contents of this book are more or less obsolete. The fact that it has not been revised since 1988 is discouraging. In view of this, I am reluctant to recommend it!

Excellent supplement!.......2000-11-06

This book is a fabulous supplement to any physical chemistry text. It even includes reviews on quantum and solid state. I found this book especially helpful as i am a physics major taking p.chem with little chemistry background.
