Do NOT buy this book.......2006-03-11
I just bought this book and there is no answer key available, even from the publisher. You will have no way to check your work. It's basically worthless now and it is not a cheap book.
Great Way To Learn Accounting.......2001-06-19
I am an accounting instructor at Fresno City College. I use this text in my course. The text is very clear and easy to follow. The application problems are extensive and straight forward, allowing you to practice everything you learn. I highly recommend this book if you want to learn accounting.

Book Description
This is a selection of Lord Irvine's major lectures and articles since 1995. It surveys the Constitutional Revolution that has taken place in Britain since the Labour Government came to power in 1997, taking in Devolution and House of Lords Reform, but with a particular focus on Human Rights. The evolution of a new human rights culture is traced, from the policy underlying the Human Rights Act 1998, through the scheme of the legislation and the preparations for implementation, to an analysis of the impact of the Act during its first two years. The work is of particular interest because Lord Irvine chaired the four main Cabinet Committees on constitutional change and introduced the Human Rights Bill to Parliament.
This Collection is a timely contribution to the debate on Human Rights, Constitutional Law and the English Legal System at the turn of the new millennium, and will be of interest to Judges, academics, practitioners and students.

I like this book so much I am buying copies for my students!.......2005-01-12
I have been a college student and subsequently a teacher of chemistry for a number of years now and this is the first book that has really impressed me enough so that I want to continue teaching from it for years to come. I think the writing is clear and at the appropriate level for junior college students in a general introductory course. We only cover the first 11 chapters in our quarter, but the content, problems, and photography are superb.
I detest the racket of publishers putting out new editions every other year or so, forcing poor college students to fork over $120 per book for a course that may require more than one textbook! So I have taken it upon myself to buy up used copies of this edition (no way will the college bookstore buy them back from the students!) and distribute them to my students on a loaner basis for the duration of the course. Sure wish I had had a teacher like me! This book is a 1000 times better than the text I used at the University of California in the year-long sequence! The new edition (4th) is essentially the same book, just a nice new cover and an inflated price. My only complaint about the book is that it was not glued together well at the plant when they made them, as all of the first pages tend to fall out or pull out with too much use when students refer to the periodic table inside the front cover.
So that's my 2 cents, just please don't compete with me for the reasonably priced used 3rd editions. I already have bought over 50, though, so you really wouldn't hurt my program, but I intend to keep snatching them up!

i liked this book. the examples were easy to read and the book was a decent introduction to chemistry. if u are required to get this book for an introductory class. dont worry too much its not that hard.

Physics with Multiply Charged ions is a helpful and comprehensive resource of the various aspects of multiply charged ions. Sections of particular interest include discussions on QED effects in MCIs, and the structure and layout of an EBIT. The only problem is that it doesn't provide enough introducotry material. The topics are presented more in the form of a series of research papers, and this hurts the readability of the topics. I bit more material on X-ray Spectroscopy and a connection of MCI physics to normal EM theory would be appreciated. Other than that, Physics with Multiply Charged Ions is a wonderful resource.

Memory Lane!.......2005-06-23
When I picked up the book just to browse through it, I got such a feeling of relief knowing that I'm not the only one who had some really hair-brained experiences with the cops. The officers were rather cool but, some were either dumb to believe my story or just didn't want to deal with the paperwork and used their descretion. In any case, the book is really great! It tickled my funnybone in more ways than I thought.
License To Laugh.......2005-05-16
I don't think there's anyone with a driver's license who hasn't dreamed of some kind of harebrain scenario that would get them out of automobile hock with the cops. Personally, I remember making a Detroit cop car smash into a retainer wall back in college while stupidly backing out an onramp to a freeway two days before Christmas. When they tried to come after me their car died, literally - like right out of a corny movie, halfway down the ramp. A dream come true or just plain dumb luck. Why I wasn't stopped further down I-75 and beaten silly, I'll never know. I just remember them jumping out of their black and white and waving their fist at me as I sped down the ramp, out of date driver's license, no insurance, no plates and no registration in my clown-nose red 1969 VW Bug. "Officers, if you read this, I'm sorry about your car, and I'm glad you didn't get hurt." So, if you have a story saved somewhere deep inside your guilty mind waiting for a place to belong, Close Calls with the Cops: Volume 1 is the sanctuary for you. Michael Kenworthy is right on the bumper with this hilarious book. It's guaranteed to lock you up with laughter, spin your wheels with ideas, and slam the door on your troubled past forever.
