This Cram 101 book is really not worth the price. You are much better off getting the study guide. All this book has is a bunch of words (terminology) used in the text and the meanings with blank pages for you to add notes. I ordered the textbook, this Cram 101 book and the study guide hoping to gain as much knowledge as possible for this Corporation Finance Course that I am taking as a requirement for my degree program. I was disappointed in this Cram101 Textbook outline book. I think the Study Guide is by far the better value of the two books. Don't waste your money on this thinking that it will help you study or cram for exams etc. It will not! Take it from me, as I wasted 20 bucks on this book.

an excellent starter for anyone interested in finance.......2006-04-17
This was my first textbook in corporate finance at the undergraduate university level (I have the 2nd edition). I found it fairly easy to understand but rigorous enough to motivate me to want to learn more. I now manage instituional portfolios of over $3 billion in bonds and derivatives, and I still refer to it today, nearly 20 years later.

The book is far too easy for professionals and for university students. The blanks exercises are really stupid. If you are not experienced in mathematics or statistics you will probably like the book because there are no derivations of formules or demonstrations of theorems.

The Ohio Employer's Guide provides the "lay of the land" of personnel law and regulations and integrates the state and federal law that is relevant to an employer. Each section of the book attempts to include both the underlying concept and a simple, straightforward rule.
This book is written in small, self-contained sections. The reader does not need to refer to the rest of the chapter, much less the rest of the book, to find information about a topic. Although this method of writing causes some duplication, it more than repays the reader in the efficiency of its use.
The Ohio Employer's Guide is supplemented at least yearly, and more often if major legislation or court cases require. In order to incorporate updated pages easily, the book is published in a three-ring notebook. The Ohio Employer's Guide is, and will continue to be, one of the most current employment law books available anywhere in the nation.
"Memo English" is used throughout this book. Whenever possible, the author has avoided terms not found regularly in a newspaper and discussions that would appear out-of-place in a business memo. This book is a non-technical discussion of technical topics.

Book Description
The physical principles of spectroscopy of quasi-particle excitations in metals at low temperatures by means of point contacts are presented. The point contact constitutes a tiny metallic bridge connecting bulk electrodes. Along with the most thoroughly studied phono excitations, the interaction of electrons with other quasiparticles (magnons, crystal-field electron excitations, paramagnetic impurities, two-level systems, etc), are reviewed. Various experimental techniques for point contact production are described. Examples of point-contact spectra are presented for pure metals, alloys and compounds, as well as for semimetals and semiconductors, heavy fermion systems, Kond-lattices, mixed valence compounds and more. Superconducting point contacts are considered in respect to Andreev reflection and Josephson effects. Special attention is paid to contact conductance fluctuation, and new trends of research are outlined.

Know what you're getting.......2007-05-29
The walks that I did in this book proved the book to be useful, but do understand what the book provides. The 35 walks cover all of Ireland. So, if you're touring Ireland for, say, 2 weeks, only a small number will be in the area your area -- unless you're one of those tourists who hits all the high points in the four corners of the island. (I spent just under 2 weeks on County Kerry and Clare.) The guide is designed for those without a car. It provides information on public transportation to get get back to your starting point. Personally, I would have liked more "loop" walks. Again, know what you're getting.
Not as expected.......2007-05-15
I think it's bad when I have to get another map out to figure out where this walk is in relationship to the area. You may or may not get the actual length of the walk. Often, the author uses estimated time. I was also looking for some of the longer walks like Dublin to Wicklow. If I could, I would return this book.
Walk and don't get lost!.......2001-02-20
Planning a walking trip sight unseen is always an act of faith. This well-written guide makes it easier to discover Ireland off the beaten path and be confident that you are setting off on walks that you can handle, that you know what to expect along the way, and can judge ahead of time whether to take one walk versus another. Booth includes information on where to find food and water as well as toilet facilities. I looked at three walking guides for an upcoming trip to Ireland, and this is the only one I am taking with me.
Easy to Follow Guide for Irish Walks.......2000-09-09
While visiting Ireland for a week my Dad and I enjoyed two of the walks described in the book. Walk 16 from Spa to Tralee winded next to a quiet stretch of ocean and canal. While following the trail through farmers's fields spotted cows slowly blinked at our presence. We viewed horseback riders, the Blennerville windmill, and wild flowers during our trek. It was an up close view of the beautiful green Irish countryside. We also enjoyed walk 14 on Inishmore (one of the Aran Islands). The book gave helpful advice on using local transportation to travel to the starting point of the walk. Starting at the mighty fortress Dun Aonghasa we marveled at the sheer cliffs protecting the fortress. The view was incredible. Leave extra time for listening to the crashing ocean waves and exploring the rocky walls. On the return walk the ocean view was captivating. We saw a local farmer repairing a stone wall by hand. This walk allowed us to enjoy a unique part of Ireland firsthand. The 35 walks listed in the book were from 2 to 9 miles in length and descriptions of elevation and estimated walking time were included. Public transportation information was provided where available which we found helpful since we did not have a rented car. Using this book we were able to enjoy recommeded sites, but also get off the beaten path to see the real Ireland.

I bought this book mostly because I am buying a lot of books about NJ and because I enjoy hiking. I truly didn't expect to learn anything I didn't already new but I was genuinely surprised. The book managed to avoid being simply a description of every state and county park by throwing in a wide array of things to do that involve long walks, including butterfly zoos, vineyards, battlfields, arboretums and flower gardens as well as cemteries. This variety truly keeps it intersting.
If you enjoy being outdoors, this book will surely show you something you didn't know existed, and make you yern for a day off from work and a warm sunny day

The author, Derek Storey, was one of my Host Parents when I studied abroad in Scotland in the fall of 2000. We went on many walks around Edinburgh and Glasgow. A favorite of mine was the walk along the Clyde River from New Lanark. It is a gorgeous walk in the fall with the leaves changing color. Derek knows his stuff, and checks on the walks when he can to see if there are any new developments. He even takes out his host students on these walks. I can't think of a much better way to see some of the countryside than strolling along a meandering path. I highly recommend the book and the country it explores.
