This is an exceptional sales management book! I found it, read it, called the company and used their service. I don't know what the problem is with those other two reviewers. Obviously, they don't run sales teams. The author perfectly descibes the real-world problems sales managers face when hiring salespeople and building a salesforce. The problems are real and his solutions are right on target. I highly recommend this book to any "legitimate" sales management executive or business owner who wants to fix problem salespeople.

If you are responsible for hiring, training or developing a sales team, this book has great information for what to look for beneath the surface. Using an assessment tool is now a necessity for the hiring process and the author describes what attributes make up a great sales person. Very useful information.

Be Warned.......2006-11-17

i don't have a problem with authors who write books to hawk their consulting/seminar companies. but this guy took it well past a reasonable boundary in doing so. on the positive side, you can read this book in an hour.
on the down side, there is no value - i mean NO value - included between the covers. table of contents looks good, but the material has no substance and the whole thing is one big tease. spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Balanced, agenda-free & realistic.......2004-07-01

It's difficult to find a new book on outsourcing that maintains a neutral perspective and does not promote an agenda for or against. This is such a book. The author leads you through the key issues, devotes an entire chapter to the pros and cons of outsourcing with sufficient information with which to make an objective decision, then steps you through the process.

The process set forth in this book is straightforward. There are no innovative wrinkles, not should there be in my opinion. The tasks, completely covered in individual chapters, are:

- Establish objectives and parameters for outsourced services. Clarify the business drivers, define service objectives, analyze the business case, and examine factors such as staff transfers, etc. The business case analysis material in this book is particularly strong in that it looks at a multitude of factors. I also like the elicitation of stakeholder views and requirements in the initial stage of the process.

- Choose a provider. This is covers the RFI/RFP process, negotiations, selection and award. All aspects of due diligence are covered in the chapter devoted to this stage.

- Manage performance. There is a solid focus on service management and contract administration in this section, and is sprinkled with good advice throughout.

- Measure performance. This is one of the strongest sections. The coverage is complete and customer-focused. It is also objective and partners with the provider - one of many indications of the balanced and objective approach the author takes.

- Risks and controls. This section addresses the transition to the provider, associated risks, and how to effectively use the contract as a control mechanism. Key risks and how to deal with them during the life of the contract are outlined. This information shows the depth of experience the author has, and the advice is genuinely useful.

- When outsourcing fails to deliver. This section is tied to the previous one. It provides common symptoms, how to proactively resolve them, escalation when necessary, including arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation if necessary (and permitted by the contract). Knowing this information in advance can help to craft contract terms and conditions that anticipate them, and protect both parties and their respective interests.

The book wraps up with a section on alternative supply models, such as application service providers, managed providers of storage, security and other models. This information shows not only future trends, but may spark ideas about how to source your services in ways other than traditional outsourcing.

Information provided in this book will work with both on- and off-shore providers; however, be aware that there are additional issues with off-shore providers, including off-site staff, time zone differences, and perceived control.

A book that I recommend reading in conjunction with this one - before reading it in fact - is "Outsourcing: How to Make Vendors Work for Your Shareholders" (ISBN 1892606046). It is more of a sanity check document that will cause you to think about objectives and alternatives to outsourcing before you embark on a course of action that leads to outsourcing.

Fenomenal.......2005-09-30

The complete kit offered by Dr. Anosike O Benji is complete, including in cases of deportation. He explains it step by step without just telling you the basic. This kit is designed to help your from the beginning to the most complex case you could think of. Luckily, he accurately explains it and define some terms which makes it understandable. I love it and I hope he writes a new edition to keep the readers in the latest in imigration law

Good intentions but flawed in so many silly ways:.......2004-08-10

I picked up this book from the library to learn more about the steps necessary for me to marry my American girlfriend. I had already read quite extensively both on the "About.com" pages but also on the official US immigration site.

The content of this book is, as far as I can tell, fairly accurate although I question one of the statements (see below). So why did I only give it 2 stars then?

My problem with this book can be divided into two parts, the authors fault and the publishers\editors fault:

The publisher\editor
The book is hardly more than an unfinished draft. On several pages, printed words have been blocked out with a pencil and corrections made by hand. One paragraph heading used the word "ENTERY" where the second "E" had been crossed out with a pencil. In other places, commas have been added and whole sections painted over and typed on top. Sometimes the headings are misaligned compared to the rest of the document and at one place it was so bad that some letters of the heading had "fallen" off of the page and been written in by hand. The booklet is also riddled with misspelled words. I don't pretend to be super-qualified in English and I know of the difficulties faced when writing in a non-native language, but then again I haven't published my texts as a book yet. To me it seems that someone messed up and handed in one of the unfinished draft papers to press instead of the finished, edited and proof read draft.
As a footnote, the printing quality in my version of the book was of low quality, often it looked like the press was running out of toner and a good light and straining eyes would have to be employed.

The author:
As for the contents, it is detailed, quite well organized, and as far as I can tell, accurate. My biggest grief was caused by the extremely long sentences used throughout the book.
(example: "Whatever else may be said to be involved in obtaining an entry visa by which an alien can become lawfully admitted into (or to remain in) the United States, the process itself is, at its most basic level, primarily a clerical and ministerial operation, requiring no complex "legal" procedures or expertise or any specialized technical theories or knowledge of law, or one which calls for a lawyer or other such professional.")

In my opinion, after having read extensively in the book, the text leaves a lot to be wished in terms of "easy reading", but is quite covering non the less if you can force yourself to keep reading.
However, one advice I can not figure out. In chapter 7 "The K-1 Visa: A Special Entry Visa For Fiance(e)s Engaged To Marry A U.S. Citizen" it was written that: "In fact the K-1 Visa has no real value or purpose - other than, in other words, to serve as a preliminary step to getting a permanent resident visa." (The quote is accurate down to the bad sentence structure.) He also claims that money would be saved by just go ahead and marry and then file for a visa as an immediate relative instead of first getting the K-1 visa, marry and then apply for the immediate relative visa. At first this sounds reasonable, and the claim that you would save money sounds true, BUT consider this:
If the alien travels to America with the intent to marry, he has to lie to get in, or risk being turned away at the border (this is why the K-1 even exists), and in order to get the immediate relative visa based on marriage, you have to enter America legally. Clearly the alien can not go to America to marry then. So the American travels to the alien and marries there, adding expenses in the form of extra round trip tickets. Also, the newly wed could not return to America as a couple, rather the "better half" would have to stay in his country of origin pending the processing of the "immediate relative based on marriage visa". Maybe I just missed out on something, somewhere, but I honestly think that the 135$ K-1 Visa fee is worth it, since you can then travel to America, get married and stay. Also, in the chapter of marriage based Visa, he goes on in great length about the importance of honesty throughout the application process and the difficulties of proving that the marriage is real and not a bluff to get a green card.... So why not do it the proper way through the K-1 visa then??

To sum up: Do not buy this book (pick it up at your library instead), look for other books on Amazon or better yet, spend the hours on the official page and guides. It has good information, but is not worth the money and almost not the time it takes to read it either. The information contained can for the most part be picked up using the official web-page, although that isn't trivial a task either. Libraries are a fine thing, use them.

1. We show that tachyons exist within Black Holes. 2. We extend Special Relativity to include left-handed (Superluminal) transformations to reference frames moving at relative velocities greater than the speed of light. This set of transformations forms a group that includes the Lorentz group as an invariant subgroup. The speed of light does not change under the transformations of this group. We find new features in frames moving at a relative speed greater than the speed of light such as length dilation, time contraction, and tachyons decaying into more massive tachyons - "reverse fission." 3. Using the (Superluminal) transformations of this enlarged group we are able to define tachyons of half-integer or integer spin. We show these tachyons are local and satisfy canonical commutation relations in light-front coordinates (the "infinite momentum" frame). Thus a standard quantization procedure is possible and a conventional light-front perturbation theory can be constructed. 4. Free spin ½ tachyons violate parity and CPT but do not violate C or T invariance. 5. The requirement of Left-handed Extended Lorentz group covariance implies an extended Dirac equation for spin ½ particles with doublets of spin ½ particles: a Dirac particle and a tachyon. We identify neutrinos with tachyon members of lepton doublets, and "d-type" quarks with tachyon members of quark doublets. 6. Further considerations lead to most features of the Standard Model for one generation of leptons and quarks. Thus the general form of the Standard Model, including a rationale for the form of parity violation, SU(2)?U(1), and left-handed doublets and right-handed singlets, is derived. 7. The theory requires quark confinement. The theory does not explain the existence of three generations or the mixing of generations. SU(3) is found to be the minimal symmetry group of the strong interaction if spin ½ baryon bound states are to exist.

This book describes a theory of the origin of the universe, the Big Bang, using a combined quantum and classical approach. In the Beginning the universe has a finite infinitesimal size and finite but ultra-high temperature and occupies a complex space-time "balloon." After an instant called the Big Bang Epoch the universe expands in a manner expected in conventional Cosmology.

The book is based on a new form of quantum field theory called two-tier quantum field theory which does not have divergences and can be applied at the point of the Big Bang since all forces become zero at short distance in this quantum field theory. At ultra-short distances gravity actually becomes repulsive - "anti-gravity."

This book describes the infinitesimal geometrical foundations of two-tier quantum field theory, develops in some detail two-tier complex General Relativistic models and applies these models to create a two-tier version of complex space-time Cosmology based on the unified two-tier Standard Model and Quantum Gravity. (A new generalization of Cauchy's Theorem for many complex variables (coordinates) in a curved space is derived.)

The nature of the energy density in the first instants of the universe suggest that the universe contains a new type of particle imagyons that are a generalization of tachyons (faster-than-light particles). We develop a theory of tachyons and imagyons of spin 0, 1/2, 1, and 2 - hitherto considered to be impossible.

The complex nature of space-time in this theory implies an icosahedral symmetry, which in turn, suggests the universe has a dodecahedral shape (shaped like a Platonic solid called a dodecahedron).

The book shows that inflationary theories of the evolution of the universe are unnecessary.

The reader is assumed to be familiar with quantum field theory and features of General Relativity. Other readers will be able to read passages that will give them the flavor of the theory and its implications. The book is a highly mathematical research text and is meant for cosmologists, physicists and mathematicians.

I have seen the light!.......2001-01-17

When I first began to read Boswell, I can honestly say that I thought it was dull and boring. What's the point of this book? is what I thought to myself. But as I read on, I began to see the light, the light of comedy in literature. Never before had an author used comedy so cleverly and and easily as Stanley Elkin does. His comedy is not only funny, but brilliant. he can take a three word sentence and turn it into a humorous event that has comedy and meaning. Not only was the comedy very good, but the stucture of the book was clever as well. Elkin would use different stratagies to keep the reader interested, such as interrupting the plot of the story with small stories that didn't really have anything to do with the story , but added humor and sometimes moral lessons. If you as well want ot see the light of comedy, I strongly recommend Boswell to you.

Humorous but..........2001-01-02

also a little annoying. Elkin's original writing style, as well as the content, is what makes this novel funny, but it is also what makes this book annoying. Reading the book for my AP Composition class and paying attention more to style than actual content, I noticed that Elkin used several different literary techniques (as most writers do), but it's how he used and combined then that sets him apart form other writers. Elkin makes several plays on words and commmon phrases (such as having a character say, "the plot thickens" while working with clay) and at times uses very descriptive imagery, along with various allusions, hyperboles, and metaphors. While this all made the book interesting at the beginning, it gradually also became overwhelming as the book went on, and certain parts seemed unnecessary and dull.
