This book demonstrates to the reader how you can look beyond your cash flow problem to the underlying issues, and then gives sound advice and principles in how to deal with those underlying issues.

In every case the path from no to yes is similar:
1. Determine your problem. Is the loan delayed because the banker doesn't like you, or because your income statement doesn't show enough in the asset column?

2. Make sure your dealing with one problem at a time. Don't try to rework your marketing at the same time that you trim your staff.

3. Focus on facts, Make sure that your own fears and worries aren't blinding you to the way things really are.

4. Become an expert. Immerse yourself in your problem; assemble all of the information you need to understand your needs and wants, as well as those of your opposite number.

5. Create an environment of trust; and, if you need to, Turn NO Into YES.

Now that you know the secrets to the authors principle, you should invest in this book and read hundreds of scenarios , ahowing how this technique can be applied in your life, and eventually become a piece of your self-worth fabric.

An excellent tool to solve financial problems.......2000-09-16

I bought this book because I was familiar with the authors (I had read their books Die Broke and Live Rich which helped me very much). In the first part of the book, They explain the six step-approach to solve financial problems.I was really looking for a book like this one. We face many kinds of money problems every day. In the past I bought books about logical decision making and none is more useful and well thought than this one. Parts 2,3,4,and 5 give examples on how to use the method. I recommend to read these parts; they can be consulted in the future if are not needed at this time. Also by reading them, the whole concept is better understood and practically the six steps are memorized. Please do not think that you need to behave robot-like and use the entire six steps every time you face a problem. In my opinion,this book teaches that We need to approach every financial problem as much rationally as We can.And The more We try to do it the better We are going to become at it.

The book gives you straight answers on how to face challenges, financial and otherwise, that come your way in life: on the job and at home. I liked the examples the authors used; they were vivid and real. Bottom line is solve the problems you face and take responsibility for your actions.

Recommend this book in conjunction with another book on self direction and leadership I use called: "The Leader's Guide: 15 Essential Skills."

The IMF/World bank Structural Adjustment Programmes (SAP) have been the subject of intense academic debate since their wide adoption, particularly in Sub-Saharan African countries. The present study analyses the effects of the SAP on tradable agriculture in Nigeria using the example of cocoa farming. Based on the dependent economy framework, the study examines how far economic prerequisites required for the successful structural transformations were met in the Nigerian case. Questions relating to the magnitude and length of real devaluation were empirically investigated. Furthermore, the quantum of changes in relative incentives between agricultural tradables and non tradables were analysed using the policy analysis matrix. The study also examined the factors that constrain the achievement of intended policy objectives. These include among others, dualistic institutional regulations and the effects of multiple exchange rates. Based on the findings, policy reforms were then suggested.

Statistical analyses of the numbers, lengths, and orientations of fission tracks etched in minerals yield dating and thermal history information valuable in geological and geoscience applications, particularly in oil exploration. Fission tracks can be represented mathematically by a stochastic process of randomly oriented line segments in three dimensions, and this "line segment" model can describe and explain the essential statistical features of the data, providing a rigorous foundation for quantitative modelling and simulation studies. Statistics for Fission Track Analysis explores the line segment model and its consequences for the analysis and interpretation of data. The author derives the equations for fission track data and the theoretical probability distributions for the number, orientation, and length measurements of the tracks. He sets out the theory of fission track dating and through numerical examples, presents methods for analyzing and interpreting fission track counts. Later chapters address statistical models for situations in which samples contain mixtures of fission track ages. These methods, along with observation features of the various measurements, are illustrated by real examples. I bought this book for check the apatite fission tracks ages obtained in my MSc thesis. The book it's very clear and easy to read, with examples and exercises well explained.

If you use external detector method for your apatite fission tracks analysis, it's a very good purchase, all is explained in the book. But if you use the new Laser Ablation Inductebly Coupled Plasma Mass Spectometer method (LA-ICP-MS), this book will not serve to respond all your questions (the LA-ICP-MS it's not mentioned in this book).

I recommend this book for: students and academics interested in apatite fission tracks analysis using the External Detector Method. The methodology, advantages and problems associated to this method are explained cleary and concise.

Finnally, if you want to use the LA-ICP-MS method, this book will serve to understand the basic topics of Apatite Fission Tracks ages.

A big MAGNIFICENT book full of real hunks and stallions!.......2000-05-26

If you're a female (or well, at least a gay), better brace yourself and get ready for a glossy, eye-filling page after page of the finest young men ever born and bred in the whole world! Those sexy studs are very artfully depicted here in a stylish vein by a very creative fashion designer like Gianni Versace and most of them are quite scantily-clad and some of them even completely naked. A very bold and unconventional piece of art that you can find on any coffee table! Too bad this handsome album is just plain too expensive for me to merely pluck right off a bookstore shelf!

Not Just The Men--The Photographic Inter-Melding.......1999-12-14

Okay, the males are stylish and handsome both--possessed of muscles, adorned with Versace's jubilant, expressionistic attire. But there's more expressionism in the photos themselves. I know of no other book where visual images (here, photos) are not just presented 1-2-3 in static procession, but where portions are repeated--echoed later on--blended with following photos--in a creative interweaving which can only be "art" in the definition of "dynamic combination of symmetry or order, and asymmetry or tension." A beach scene appears, then is blended with another scene later. And interblended with the written text, too. Rare is this twin-starring of word and image, plus this permutation-and-combination of images. Only in comics do word and image so vitally interact. So check out this book for its design-artistry, as well as its aesthetic dudes.....

What caught my attention...................1999-05-24

was supermodel Marcus Schenkenberg on the cover. That's why I brought it home! But when I opened it up, I was thrilled to see that every photo was marvelous and artful. Kudos and love to the late Versace, who created this brilliant piece of art.
