This is an excellent overview of finance and related topics. focuises on macroeconomic factors, such as aspects of national banking and finance, international trade and currency exchange systems, etc. Also focuses on corporate and business finance. Also contains excellent exercises for math and accounting functions.

Description:
This paper describes seven case studies in which ecotechnological approaches are being used to reduce the discharge of nitrogen to the environment in three local government jurisdictions in the moist subtropical zone of eastern Australia. Both technical performance and factors relating to acceptance of the technologies are examined. Three of the technologies have survived early setbacks to achieve increasing acceptance. Composting toilets and reed beds (sub-surface flow wetlands) have achieved takeoff in the on-site wastewater context in the Lismore City Council area where the level of adoption (based on 2004-2005 figures) for both technologies was approximately 30% of newly approved systems. In both cases, the level of adoption has been favoured by local scientific studies which have confirmed claims regarding technical performance and by regulations which encourage the reduction of nitrogen discharge to the environment. Free water surface (FWS) wetlands are installed as polishing devices at three of the 10 sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Lismore and the adjoining Byron and Richmond River Shires. Early problems arising from inexperience at design, construction and management of these wetlands have been overcome as local familiarity has increased. This confidence has been a factor in the decision to support a major upgrade to the West Byron constructed wetland system and to install a further three wetlands locally. A further two technologies each have one full-scale system in operation. A 24ha multipurpose wetland regeneration project for effluent polishing and transpiration, acid sulfate soil management, wetland regeneration, and carbon sequestration, recently installed at the end of the West Byron STP treatment train, is reducing total nitrogen concentrations from approximately 4-1mg/L. A landfill leachate treatment system incorporating pond, macrophyte zones, horizontal flow gravel filter and single pass sand filter is reducing NH"4-N and TKN concentrations by 95% and 84%, respectively. The final two technologies described are associated with the reuse and/or treatment of municipal wastewaters. The annual crops hemp and kenaf have both exhibited high N uptake rates in irrigated crop trials. However, their short growing season has resulted in rejection as production crops at one STP in the Byron Shire. The recent realization that the perennial pasture grass Setaria sphacelata can perform the role of wetland macrophyte has given rise to the concept of the ''wet-and-dry-land'' cell. Still at the pilot stage, this ecotechnology may have application in areas with distinct wet and dry seasons.

Few inventors can develop, manufacture and market their product without any use of plastics. Even if your product does not contain plastics, the packaging often does. This book is essentially an encylopedia of plastics and provides a comprehensive overview of plastics history, theory, characteristics and selection, forming, fabricating, and decorating. It has 135 pages of appendices including a glossary and detailed descriptions of plastics families and characteristics. If you need plastics in your venture, you need this book.

This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Computer Analysis of Images and Patterns (CAIP'93), held in Budapest, Hungary, in September 1993. Formerly, the events in this biennial conference series were thought as a forum where East European researchers and professionals from academia and industry had an opportunity to discuss their results and ideas with Western colleagues active in image processing and pattern recognition. Now, CAIP'93 has a much more international scope, and in the future these conferences will not any longer take place only in East European countries, but roam throughout whole Europe. Besides invited talks by Belikova, Gimel'farb, Haralick and Roska, the volume contains 114 contributions, either presented as lectures or posters and carefully selected by a highly competent international program committee from a total of some 230 submissions; thus the book gives a thorough survey on recent research results and their applications in image processing and pattern recognition. Description:
A procedure for the consistent application of digital terrain analysis methods to identify tectonic phenomena from geomorphology is developed and presented through two case studies. Based on the study of landforms related to faults, geomorphological characteristics are translated into mathematical and numerical algorithms. Topographic features represented by digital elevation models of the test areas were extracted, described and interpreted in terms of structural geology and geomorphology. Digital terrain modelling was carried out by means of the combined use of: (1) numerical differential geometry methods, (2) digital drainage network analysis, (3) digital geomorphometry, (4) digital image processing, (5) lineament extraction and analysis, (6) spatial and statistical analysis and (7) digital elevation model-specific digital methods, such as shaded relief models, digital cross-sections and 3D surface modelling. A sequential modelling scheme was developed and implemented to analyse two selected study sites, in Hungary and NW Greece on local and regional scales. Structural information from other sources, such as geological and geophysical maps, remotely sensed images and field observations were analysed with geographic information system techniques. Digital terrain analysis methods applied in the proposed way in this study could extract morphotectonic features from DEMs along known faults and they contributed to the tectonic interpretation of the study areas. e study areas.

This volume summarizes in 16 chapters the petroleum geology of the Békés basin with respect to its geological setting in the Pannonian Basin. The work was accomplished by a joint effort of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Co. and U.S. Geological Survey.
In contrast with other books that discuss the geology of Hungary, this volume identifies, in detail, potential source rocks and reservoir rocks, and evaluates the maturation, generation, migration, and entrapment of hydrocarbons. The outstanding points are: (1) its summary of the petroleum geology of the Békés basin with respect to its structural and sedimentological setting in the Pannonian Basin; (2) the identification of geographic areas, structural trends and stratigraphic zones that remain relatively unexplored; and (3) a summary of `petroleum plays' with an assessment of their recoverable, undiscovered resources of oil and gas.
This book is primarily for petroleum geologists interested in oil and gas exploration in Hungary, and earth scientists interested in the geology of the Pannonian Basin.
