It is a great book that covers many areas of CDL secrets. However, to pass the test you need more. The interactive tests CDL COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE MANUAL offered by AplusB Software Corporation on Amazon, would be a perfect addition to this book. The information presented visually is received and processed by the brain faster than only a written message. People think much faster than they can read, so their minds tend to wander during a reading. The CDL COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE MANUAL, visualised software application helps keep you focused on the information.

    2 out of 5 stars Combination Vehicles.......2006-04-08

This book combines Combination Vehicles with Doubles and Triples. They are seperate test. The book does not go into the Trailer Hand Valve (trolley valve, johnson bar); Tractor Protection Valve; Trailer Air Supply Control, which are all required reading for the Combination Vehicle test. Beware if you are taking the CDL in the state of Texas the book does not cover Special Requirements for Texas Commercial Motor Vehicles. That is 16 pages of missing information that you need to know.

4 out of 5 stars Good for Spanish Translation of English Truck Terms.......2006-03-16

I bought this book for my spanish CDL students whose english is limited. I felt it was a good companion to the english CDL study guide. It was helpful for translation of truck part terms that you cannot find in an english/spanish dictionary. I also bought the spanish video that goes with the book and found that useful and informational as well. I would recommend the book and video as a supplement to the english CDL study guide and videos when studying for the CDL permit tests. The only downfall is that if the instructor does not speak english and spanish this may be a problem as the instructor needs to understand both languages to correctly translate the book.

5 out of 5 stars Great book, includes info needed for CDL exam, and industry........2003-03-18

I purchased this book b/c I am looking to get into the trucking industry. After I received this book, I was pleased. This book is well-layed out and describes all aspects of the trucking industry and CDL requirements. Each chapter is followed by a series of questions and the authors give tips throughout the book for passing CDL exams. Includes all endorsements, and the book was published in 2001, so you know it is not out-dated. Overall, I am satisfied with the contents and hope to get into the industry.

          Book Description

This second volume of the book on spin dynamics in confined magnetic structures covers central aspects of spin dynamic phenomena, so that researchers can find a comprehensive compilation of the current work in the field. Introductory chapters help newcomers to understand the basic concepts, and the more advanced chapters give the current state of the art for most spin dynamic issues in the milliseconds to femtoseconds range. Both experimental techniques and theoretical work are discussed. The comprehensive presentation of these developments makes this volume very timely and valuable for every researcher working in the field of magnetism. It describes the new experimental techniques which have advanced this field very rapidly. Among the techniques covered, particular attention is given to those involving high temporal, elemental and spatial resolution as well as to techniques involving magnetic field pulses with very short rise times and durations.

            5 out of 5 stars Excellent!.......2002-09-24

Finally, two Christian authors give the general reading public a thorough, theologically-sound take on how science and Genesis fit together. For too long, unsophistocated readers have been offered nothing but a non-stop ... of "young-earth creationist" clap-trap (like the one star reviewer on this page) that really distorts the Bible in the name of "simplicity." Serious studies that take treat both the Bible and science with respect have been written only for readers who are significantly smarter and more intellectually inclined than the average Bible student. Hopefully books like this will help bring sound Biblical hermenuetics down to earth for 100-IQ readers (who are, statistically, the larger chunk of the population) who'd otherwise be sucked in Young Earth Creationism....

            1 out of 5 stars Christian Compromise!.......2002-03-09

While easy to read and understand, this book is another terrible attempt to marry evolution and creation, two diametrically opposed ideaologies.
In short, it takes the very flawed idea that the creation story in Genesis is figurative, and that God used the big bang and subsequent molecular evolution to bring about life as we know it. Much worse, it comes from 2 authors who claim to be bible teachers, one of them even a church elder, and who also claim they believe that scripture IS the authoritative word of God.
If they do believe the Bible, I have trouble believing they have thought their position through. The book of Genesis is clearly written as an historical account meant to be taken literally, not as a parable, or in figurative terms such as Psalms (poetic). The word "day" in Genesis, used in that context, can only refer to a literal 24 hour day, not long periods of time. Most of all, the Bible clearly teaches that God created a pure world, placed Adam and Eve in it, and pronounced it as "Very good." It further teaches that death, spiritual and physical, was the penalty of Adam's sin and God's resulting judgement on mankind. Of course, through Christ, the way of redemption is made clear, spiritually now, physically at the end of time when there will be "no more curse". Belief in Stan and Bruce's compromise means that death was not the penalty for sin, but instead was the mechanism God used over millions of years to bring man into existence. Death and bloodshed were part of the "very good" creation. This problem, amongst others, is never addressed in this book.
While I do not believe it was the authors' intent, they, and others with their view, do Christianity much harm. If Genesis does not mean what it says, where else in the Bible can you apply this logic? This view is saddening when it comes from people who say they are Bible teachers, but are unwittingly misleading many a Christian through such publications.
"If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?" Ps 11:3 Evolution was born to be a naturalistic explanation of how the world came to be without the need for God. Most scientists understand this. Books such as this help Darwinists accomplish their goal of relegating the Bible to be a book of myths and mother goose fairy tales. Stan and Bruce would do better to just stick with the story our Creator gave us, back in Genesis.

            5 out of 5 stars DrJ.......2001-12-27

I strongly recommend this book for any layman new to the Science-Bible discussion.

"Bruce and Stan's Guide to How It All Began" is an excellent summary of real issues related to the Science-Bible and Creation-Evolution debate. They do a great job of keeping the main things the main thing and explaining the technical details in terms that layman can understand. I plan to use this book to supplement classes that I plan to teach on Genesis, Science and the Bible in the future.

              Book Description

This book attempts to provide a synthetic view of fundamental theoretical physics. It describes the ingredients which may have to be used in order to build a theory which will unify general relativity, quantum field theory, and the known fundamental interactions. The books written so far have either considered a specialized topic in much detail, or they were too superficial and general. This book unites both approaches: it provides enough detail to start with, but does not go too far in developing a particular special field. Instead it turns to another special field and then shows how different fields are interrelated in a fascinating way. Many surprising new findings are revealed. Audience: This book will be of interest to those who would like to explore how the `Theory of Everything' could possibly be formulated. It will be of interest to researchers and students. A background in general relativity and quantum mechanics is recommended. The introductory sections, and especially Part IV: Beyond the Horizon, need no such background knowledge. They are intended for the reader who is interested in the conceptual and even philosophical questions.

'Here Comes Heavenly' makes for good, light-hearted reading. The plot is interesting and not heavy and boring. The characters catch you with their vibrant descriptions and you really want to read on, and find out more about Heavenly Litebody, the mysterious nanny who suddenly appears. Where did she come from? Who exactly is she? and so on. It's very fun. I finished it and I wanted to read the sequel immediately!

                4 out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down!.......2000-04-16

Reading Here Comes Heavenly was fun, and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next! The Rand children live in a nice neighbor hood, with a nanny, or actually not one solid nanny, the kids can't seem to keep one! One day right after the old nanny quit Heavenyl Litebody was in the kitchen cooking breakfast. The kids asked her how she got in, since they have a 'state of the art alarm syster' but Heavenly found a way to get around that. Weird things start to happen when Heavenly is around, and most of them are benifical. Like, when Kit, one of the kids, wants a boy to be her History partener and the teacher picked Kit's enemy, the grl offeres to have Kit as a 3de person in the group. This girl was never nice, and Kit starts wondering why. The when Heavenly tells Samera, the youngest girl, to do her homeowrk in the kitchen. Samera says NO! and when she tries to go up stairs with er book bag, it breaks, not matter how hard she tries, she cant seems to pick up all her books. Read more of this amazing book, and enjoy!

                Book Description

                Here Comes Heavenly...

She's cool, she's punk, she's Heavenly, the nanny for my little brother, Tyler. And she makes magic. But this time not even Heavenly's magic may be strong enough to save us from disaster!

                SPELL DANGER

We're back from Rome and all I can think of is Rafael, the boy I left behind. Then we hear that the people in Soundview Manor think they've discovered a witch: Cocci Nelliday, the woman who raised Heavenly. She saved a family by levitating them over a speeding truck. Yes, there were witnesses. Lots of them. They're all gossiping about Cocci. And now they're wondering whether Heavenly -- our Heavenly -- is a witch too. Reporters are surrounding the house, following us everywhere. We're so afraid of losing Heavenly that we may have to reveal her secret to motormouth Samara...and Mom and Dad!

Our piano teacher, Wes Shackelford, is crazy about Heavenly. He'd be more than happy to rescue her. And Roy is back in my life, confusing everything even more. Where is Heavenly's magic when we need it most?

5 out of 5 stars Here Comes A Great "Here Comes Heavenly" Book!.......2001-05-08

I have read all of them but this is probably the best one. It's another story with Kit Rand as the narrator. This time, the Rands have just got back to their home, Soundview Manor, from Italy! In town, a lady named Cocci Nelliday (pronounced "Coke-y")has been accussed of being a WITCH! They say that she saved a family by levitating them over a speeding truck. And yes, there were MANY witnesses. And now, they are all wondering, is Heavenly, the Rand's nanny, who was brought up by Cocci, a witch, too? Reporters are following Heavenly and the Rands everywhere! They are so afraid of losing Heavenly that they might even have to reveal Heavenly's secret to big-mouth Samara... and even their Mom and Dad! Their piano teacher, Wes Shackelford, is in LOVE with Heavenly and would do ANYTHING for her. So, of course he would rescue her. And Roy is back in Kit's life, confusing everything even more, if possible. This new Heavenly story was very thrilling and kept me on my toes through the whole book! It has a very exciting but happy ending! EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!!! It's a very great book! HERE COMES TODD STRASSER WITH THE BEST HEAVENLY BOOK EVER!

This was by far one of the best books I have read. Believe me I've read a few. All of the books are outstanding. I wish he would write more. You really had a chance to think. Personally I wish it was Kit instead of Jessica(You would have to read the books to find out what I mean)
All in all I wouldn't change a thing except for the fact that there aren't anymore in the series.

This is a great book. Tyler, Sammara, Robby, Kit and Chance can never keep a nanny. That was there 6th nanny in 2 years. After the last nanny left, suddenly Heavenly Litebody appears and know even thing about the children. She made them breakfast and bossed them around like she was there nanny. She even knows the secret password for the alarm system. We all wonder wear she came from, who hired her, and how she got in the house?

                HERE COMES HEAVENLY...

She's cool, she's punk, she's Heavenly, our nanny for my baby brother, Tyler. And she makes magic. So who'd ever believe she is afraid of flying?

                PASTABILITIES

Hi, it's me, Kit Rand. I thought I was getting friendly with Jessica Huffington of the fabulously wealthy Huffingtons. Then I found out she was really just using me to get to my gorgeous stepbrother, Chance. So it was sort of a relief to hear that Mom has been offered a big job in Rome and she wanted the whole family to fly over for vacation and see if we liked it. I mean, at least we'd be out of Jessica's reach, right? Mom and Dad had to fly over to Italy first, and Heavenly was supposed to bring us later. But it turned out that not only had Heavenly never been in a plane, she had hardly been out of town! The thought of flying turned her into a basket case! Chance and I had to take over.

Heavenly was so freaked she almost used her magic powers to shut down the airport. But we finally took off, and when we got to Rome, guess who was waiting there for us? Jessica! But then I met handsome Rafael...
