This study of the first 10 volumes of Advances in Accounting Information Systems (AiAIS) and the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems (IJAIS) uses content, participation, citation, and article download analyses to assess the journal's success of meeting its purpose, intended audience, scope, and reach. Results suggest that its redirected focus in 2000 to expand its international audience, removal of section designations for articles, implementation of a quarterly publication approach, and inclusion in an electronic, searchable database (ScienceDirect) have well positioned the journal for the future and to assist in disseminating quality AIS research. This study's analyses of articles published in the journal specifically indicate an increase in publications in recent years, numerous identified AIS topic/research method opportunities for future research, a variety of AIS topics examined, various research methods employed, and participation by all faculty ranks. Further, the author's school of publication and university of degree show a variety of large, public institutions participating in the journal. Outside citations by articles in other journals to AiAIS/IJAIS articles indicate an increase in dissemination of knowledge in recent years, while article downloads show an exponential growth pattern. The study concludes that IJAIS has come into its own and is recognized by academics and professionals as a quality accounting publication that contributes to the literature.

In today's fast-paced, brutal business world any small company faces threats by major corporations and larger businesses. Salespeople are the key to help keeping the company alive and active. But you not only just need salespeople, you need GREAT salespeople! This book helps the reader (and the small business owner) to choose wisely in their sales candidates. I found this book to be extremely informative and highly valuable to learning how a small business owner (like myself) can weed out all the bad sales candidates and to only settle for the very best. Miller is really great at explainning the method for narrowing down and using some good tactics to hire the right slaes person for your company. HIs easy to read style keeps you entertained and the chapters are broken down step by step. More than anything I enjoyed learning about the various types of salespeople and how each can bring good results depending on their personality and environment.

Really, a must get for any business owner who wishes to keep the most important department of this business alive and thriving. The key to any business is sales and you shoudl invest in either improving it or building it fromt the ground up again. This book will help you.

Good Introduction.......2007-01-04

Interpreting the New Testament Text: Introduction to the Art and Science of Exegesis edited by Darrell Bock and Buist Fanning is divided into two parts. The first deals with methodology. This section travels from defining "Exegesis" through 13 chapters to application, ethics, and preaching.

In between the authors survey and explain textual criticism, grammatical analysis, diagramming, lexical analysis, exegetical problem solving (validation), background studies, genre studies (narrative, epistolary, apocalyptic), the Old Testament in the New, and theological analysis. All of this covers just over 300 pages.

The second section of the book provides 150 pages of exegetical examples of these activities written by some big name scholars such as I Howard Marshall and Edwin Yamauchi and many other lesser known but still excellent scholars.

The book as a whole is extremely well organized and has the wonderful benefit of bibliographies at the end of each section.

Overall the book is an excellent introduction for those who are just beginning to study New Testament Interpretation. For more indepth study Stanley Porter's Handbook to Exegesis of the New Testament is a more advanced level book, but even still don't loose Bock and Fanning, it has made a valuable contribution to the field.

Also unlike some similar books, Bock and Fannings's book is a hardback which will last longer.

Finally, the book is a Festschriften (a sort of tribute) to Harold Hoehner, who had a major impact on how exegesis was done at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Quality text, quality workmanship, five stars.
