This book should be valuable to strategic management scholars and practitioners alike. Graham Kenny's book employs contemporary stakeholder theory in the service of a practical method to improve strategy. I find it more theoretically rigorous and effective than the similar but more widely known Balanced Scorecard method.

This is one of the best books in its genre. I highly recommend it for all levels of readers.

Nice presentation of Strategy - Performance interdependence.......2005-10-13

The author did a great job in explaining how to link strategy formulation to performance concepts. Define strategic factors, stakeholders analysis, the importance of defining strategic factors/objectives for each stakeholders group, not only for clients/customers. In this way we are going to define strategic factors for shareholdres, employees, and other stakeholders groups. This process is well known to ones familiar with Project Managament Body of Knowledge from Project Management Institute.
Readers advanced in Strategy Formulation and Performance Management might find several useful ideas. Intermediate readers can learn how to better define objectives, to design a strategy and implement it. Readers which are begginers in the subject might find a lot of interesting and new topics to explore. Nice and pleasant book, with a lot of examples from real world.

PS. In the book are several places where is written "if you'd like assistance... our organization has developed...". To say this and present the company once, it is OK. To mention it several times in the book made me feel like I'd paid for a commercial that was supposed to be free.

Practical Insight Into Strategy Decisions.......2005-08-31

Graham Kenny's approach to organisational strategy and performance is practical and action-oriented. Graham takes a subject that can be clouded in mystic, demystifies it and provides a practical way forward. Of most value to me from Graham's book was to clearly see the link driven from a view about stakeholder outcomes, cascading to behaviours and KPIs. The case studies provided are clear and convincing. An enormously helpful read!

Magnetic Fields play a key role in the physics of star formation on all scales: from the formation of the large complexes of molecular clouds to the formation of solar-like planetary systems. The plasma physics involved is non-linear and very complex, which requires the development of large numerical codes. An additional difficulty is that the detection and study of magnetic fields is not easy from an observational point of view, and therefore theoretical models cannot easily be constrained.

In the week from April 21st to 25th in 2003, a meeting was held on the Campus of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) to join theoretical and observational efforts to address these issues. The objective was to define a set of relevant problems for the physics of star formation that can be properly addressed with the current or near-future instruments.

This book summarizes the results of this intensive week of work. The book is written in a comprehensive manner and reviews our current knowledge of the subject. It also represents an updated account of the ideas and thoughts of the scientists working in the field of Star Formation. The contributions are presented in six chapters which correspond to the six fundamental issues (sessions) on which the discussion was focused during the workshop: the physics of turbulence in the Interstellar Medium (ISM), the formation of structure in the ISM, the formation of stars within dense cores of molecular gas, the physics of accretion disks, the physics of outflows and their interaction with the ISM, and the interaction between the stellar magnetosphere and accretion disk.

Each chapter starts with a comprehensive summary written by one of the editors, which includes input from the contributions as well as the editor's own thoughts on the subject. For all these reasons the book is well-suited as a primer to introduce graduate students in the richness of this field of research.

This book describes what is essentially docking calculations in the context of the Accerlys software. The text is very qualitative and does not provide enough instruction to do any "molecular modeling". It seems to be more guidlines for various software packages sold by Accerlys.
