This book does not provide what the title indicates. Was very disappointed as I had expected this book would divulge some little known info for tax breaks. Unless you own a business or have tons and tons of money invested I would pass this by.

I was very disappointed to find that even though "2002" was part of the title, nothing in this book was current. I strongly recommend Taxes for Dummies. Don't waste your money on this one.

Didn't answer the questions I had.......2002-03-21

I read this book at Borders Bookstore. While the book is helpful for those who fill out forms and want a general understanding of the new tax codes, it like many books of its type don't deal with the constitutional principles of taxation. Otto Skinner who wrote The Best Kept Secret is the only one I've seen who does this. So, this book is good to a certain extent, but the reader is no where closer to getting beyond the confusion about direct and indirect taxes.

I purchased and read this book. I felt it was too full of generalizations as I was expecting more specific examples. So I next visited the IRS website to read the real stuff. Now the real pain started - I found could read most of the book(excluding the "Dick & Jane" examples) on the IRS website FOR FREE!

If you are interested in this book, you'll LOVE "Lost Star," by Cruttenden. You also might want to read Swami Sri Yukteswar's little book, "The Science of Religion," - even though it requires sustained concentration on every word. More accessible are related passages in Paramahansa's "Autobiography of a Yogi."

Arguably, this is the best review of hydrocracking I have ever read. The authors discuss all aspects of commercial hydrocracking. The bibiography alone justifies the purchase price. The emphasis is on catalyst preparation and characterization, but reaction kinetics and process specifics are also discussed.

The 2nd International Symposium on Hydrotreatment and Hydrocracking of Oil Fractions, which is also the 7th in the series of European Workshops on Hydrotreatment, took place in Antwerpen, Belgium from November 14 to 17.

The Symposium emphasized how oil refining faces increasingly severe environmental regulations. These and the increasing application of heavier crudes containing more S-, N- and metal components call for more efficient hydrotreatment and hydrocracking processes. It is clear from the keynote lectures, the oral contributions and the posters of this meeting that adapting the operating conditions will not suffice. Adequate catalysts need to be developed, with different composition and structure. Surface science techniques and molecular modeling are now well established tools for such a development. They should be of help in widely different aspects, like the role of precursors in the preparation or the modifications undergone by the catalyst under reaction conditions.

The improvement of hydrotreatment and hydrocracking also needs accurate modeling of the chemical reactor. This requires more representative hydrodynamics and kinetic models whose validity extends to the very low S- and N-contents. These areas should be vigorously developed.

This multidisciplinary book focuses on the relationships and interactions between palaeobiogeography, biogeography, dispersal, vicariance, migrations and evolution of organisms in the SE Asia-Australasian region. The book investigates biogeographic links between SE Asia and Australasia which go back more than 500 million years. It also focuses on the links between geological evolution and biological migrations and evolution in the region. It was in the SE Asian region that Alfred Russell Wallace established his biogeographic line, now known as Wallace's Line, which was the beginning of biogeography. Wallace also independently developed his theory of evolution based on his work in this area.;The book brings together, for the first time, geologists, palaeontologists, zoologists, botanists, entomologists, evolutionary biologists and archaeologists, in the one volume, to relate the region's geological past to its present biological peculiarities. The book is organized into six sections. Section 1 Paleobiogeographic Background provides overviews of the geological and tectonic evolution of SE Asia-Australasia, and changing patterns of land and sea for the last 540 million years. Section 2 Palaeozoic and Mesozoic Geology and Biogeography discusses Palaeozoic and Mesozoic biogeography of conodonts, brachiopods, plants, dinosaurs and radiolarians and the recognition of ancient biogeographic boundaries or Wallace Lines in the region. Section 3 Wallace's Line focuses on the biogeographic boundary established by Wallace, including the history of its establishment, its significance to biogeography in general and its applicability in the context of modern biogeography.;Section 4 Plant biogeography and evolution includes discussion on primitive angiosperms, the diaspora of the southern rushes, and environmental, climatic and evolutionary implications of plants and palynomorphs in the region. The biogeography and migration of insects, butterflies, birds, rodents and other non-primate mammals is discussed in section 5, Non Primates. The final section 6 Primates focuses on the biogeographic radiation, migration and evolution of primates and includes papers on the occurrence and migration of early hominids and the requirements for human colonization of Australia.

It was the read for my book club and I was surprised of how much I enjoyed it. At the begining it was hard to keep track of all the characters and what was going on but if you stick with it you won't be able to put it down. I would have never picked a book inspired on the Bible not becuase I'm against it but It sounds boring. This is book was not boring at all.

I have a hard time getting into a lot of contemporary literature, but I just LOVED book! I've read it twice -- first in my twenties before I had children and then later in my thirties after having my first child. In my twenties I was enchanted by the first part of Dinah's story -- her childhood and relationships with her various "mothers". Then, later, as a mother I was moved by Dinah's story after giving birth and her bittersweet relationship with her own child. Maybe I'll read it again in another 10 years...

So much more than expected!.......2007-10-07

I donated my first copy of The Red Tent to the Goodwill without having read a single page. Because I'm not one to give to much thought to the bond I share with other women just because we're women, and because I don't have sisters or share a deep connection with many women in my family, I assumed this book was not for me. Years later, however, I decided to give the The Red Tent a shot; and it turned out to be a page-turner.

The Red Tent offers a thought-provoking emotional read . . . An amazing story of strength, love, survival, loyalty, and betrayal. I cared about the characters from beginning to end (regardless of whether I could relate my own experiences to theirs) and found myself so full of sorrow at one point I actually put the book aside and sobbed. Colorful images, beautiful descriptive language, realistic fiction . . . a inarguably well-written novel with immense depth. Highly recommended!

It was an excellent book. I really enjoyed it. It did follow the Bible somewhat but then it is fiction, based on some facts.

The Powerful Women of our Past.......2005-07-12

This was a great read, I had bought it about a year ago and never actualy read it.
Went on a road trip this summer, read it in three days. I could not put it down the story had me enraptured by the world that Dinah lived in, that I had to follow her to the end.
It shows a side of biblical times that has gone untold for too long. It is good to see the strength of women in times where stories of women went untold.
