I feel as a student of finance that the book is too wordy and needs more examples of problems. You also need a written study guide not a disk. I had never had finance before and found your book not very user-friendly.

Great practical book.......2003-04-02

We use several of these books at our Spanish immersion center ILISA in Costa Rica. Of the few books on the topic out there, this is our preferred book.

And, it's also used by Hispanic teachers who don't see any offensive stereotyping.

The benefits of reading this book far outweight any room for improvement it may have.

After a semester of teaching the book . . ........2001-11-29

This book was assigned for me to use in a class on the use of Spanish in medical situations. We are currently nearing the end of the semester, and I feel justified in advancing an opinion over the book's quality. To begin, the grammar and vocabulary presents serious problems. At least one-third of the book uses inaccurate Spanish terminology and dubious grammatical constructions. Second, I take exception to much of the book's cultural contents. It consistently presents stereotypes of Latinos, portraying them as superstitious and poorly educated; the only one not so portrayed are those who have become acculturated to United States society. Third, many of the book's exercises are simply useless. Fourth and last, the illustrations are cheap and often tasteless.

I have a medical ground, am a native speaker, and teach in a university environment. I can testify that working with this book proved a nightmare. I would recommend that the authors carefully review the text with native speakers for greater accuracy.

great resourse for non-Spanish Speakers.......2001-01-04

This book is totaly focused on the Latino Patient. It is not driven by terminology but rather real world dialogs by Spanish Speakers. It includes two cassettes that help guide the learner through the converstations allowing the student to repeat. I also found it to be user-friendly. When I need to look up a particular term or concept, I found it easily and effortlessly. It also has exercises to reinforce what is being presented in each chapter.

I would recommend this book to anyone who truly wants to learn Spanish.

Microporous materials, including both zeolites and aluminophosphates are amongst the most fascinating classes of materials, with wide ranging important applications in catalysis, gas separation and ion exchange. The breadth of the field has, moreover, been extended in the last ten years by the discovery of the versatile and exciting ranges of mesoporous materials.
Computational methods have a long and successful history of application in solid state and materials science, where they are indeed established tools in modelling structural and dynamic properties of the bulk and surfaces of solids; and where they are playing an increasingly important role in understanding reactivity. Their application to zeolite science developed strongly in the 1980's, with the initial successes in modelling structure and sorption, and with emerging capability in quantum mechanical methods. The field was reviewed over ten years, since then there have been major developments in techniques and of course the power of the available hardware, which have promoted a whole range of new applications to real complex problems in the science of microporous materials. This book aims to summarise and illustrate the current capabilities of atomistic computer modelling methods in this growing field.

Government sucks.......2007-01-25

I think that the government did nothing good at this time(1992) and he still isn't doing anything good for us. The poor is getting poorer and the rich is still rich. We cant work because our brains are dieying with out food. This book is a wonderful but the tragic moments are very sad and disapointing. I dont think that anyone should have more power oer us no matter what. We should be exempt and work for our families in different countries. I will fight for the people in my community and it will be anarchy. I will beat the system and nobody will stop me!

Twilight : Los Angeles, 1992.......2005-08-28

This play offers the viewer a chance to reflect on recent history in California. It is an intelligent look at the discussion of race in America. Any chance for thoughtful self-evaluation is an opportunity to grow and learn. Anna Deavere Smith's work is grand.

AMAZING.......2001-11-12

Anna Deavere Smith truly brought out what the LA riots of 1992 were about. She shows us how blind we can all be, how an action of one person can actually cause the suffering of another for the rest of their lives. It was scary to think that this could have happened anywhere, or anytime. She showed us that sometimes, we have to open out eyes and watch was is going on around us. It was a great experience. The characters touched me deeply. I recommend it to everyone.

A largely unknown intellectual.......2001-08-04

I had the extreme pleasure of sitting in two classes with Ms. Smith as she talked about Twilight. It is a wonderful work with a documentary foundation that educates you on the happenings during the infamous Los Angeles riots, from Korean shopkeepers to Black gang members to White-male politicians--Smith has made sure every reader gets the full spectrum of views. Each monologue is actually an interview Smith personally conducted; each are placed in an order that somehow manages to flow together to tell a collective story of an unfortunate occurence in recent American history and justice. It will remind you that the passions of the event had personal roots for all involved.

Even though the reading of this book can't really capture all of the essence of seeing it staged, Anna Deveare Smith's Twilight is still something that should be bought. She takes interviews and performs the poeple exactly the way they are in order to reveal a truth. It's very moving.

Beautiful Box Set but Incomplete.......2007-10-01

For any Anne Rice Vampire fans you cannot go past this beautiful Box Set with modern artwork cover designs. My only complaint is why on earth isn't the Fifth and final volume of the central plot Vampire Chronicles (before all those spin-offs) included??? The fifth and final volume "Memnoch the Devil" should definitely be included in the Box Set without which it is simply NOT complete when the finale ends nicely with Lestat's famous last words:

I am the Vampire Lestat. Let me pass now from fiction into legend.

Lestat Rocks My Boring World!.......2007-09-16

Everyone else has basically described all four of these books for the most part, so let me make my review brief and to the point. Interview, Lestat, and Tale of the Body Thief were my favorite books of the four in the chronicles. Queen of the Damned, however was long, slow, and so detailed that it was the only book I managed to lose my attention to in streaks, and I have listened to them all unabridged, on tape, at work.

Sure, her books are a bit overrated, but they are also well-written and entertaining. Rice gives our dark heroes so much humanity that one can't help being attracted by them enough to want to become one as well at times. Nowhere is this point made more concise than by her favorite character, Lestat. I wish mortal men were as cool and insightful as "the brat prince!" Great, imaginative fun. Frank Muller's narration of the audio books is second to none.

I'm not big on vampire books but Anne Rice writes in such a way that you truly believe they are real people with real lives and all the thoughts and feelings we all have. In addition, they struggle with the issues of immortality and there are many.

Thought provoking but belaboured.......2006-09-29

I would certainly recommend anyone who has an interest in this genre to read these books. Rice raises some very interesting concepts from the mind of the vampire. My only gripe (and a friend feels the same way) is that Rice tends to ramble - padding out relatively meaningless stuff, or stuff that you've already gleaned the concept of after two lines. I found myself skipping paragraphs & pages, which was detrimental to the flow. With some judicious editing and condensing they would be worthy of 5 stars. The fourth book doesn't quite hold up to the stds set with the first three...might be worth finding the trilogy.
