This book is NOT THE RIGHT ONE!!!! It is only half of the book for intermediate accounting. I will now have to re-buy the entire book in order to continue on. Total waste of money!

This book was a great help in studying for exams. The problems are good (and there are plenty) and the answers are immediately available with detailed explanations. I highly recommend this workbook.

Intermediate Accounting.......2005-08-03

I was struggling (what I call struggling) in the class until I bought this book along with Volume II. I found that it helped me immensely. Though my instructor is good, she goes through things a lot faster than I was able to take notes for. This book was definately beneficial for keeping my GPA!!!

The study guide is helpful when used along with the textbook. There is a summary of each chapter with plenty of T/F questions to determine if you understand the material from the chapters, and there are detailed explanations for false answers.

This book along with the Student Survival Guide was a great help to me. I just walked out of class with a 100 on my last test! Now for the final. Not near as nervous because these books have pushed me to remember the information that I normally wouldn't. Great buy!!

This was a pretty good study guide to go along w/ chapters 1-14 of kieso's intermediate accounting textbook (vol.1, 11th edition). Some of the lecture notes my prof. used were taken directly from the study guide - so there was some reptition. But there are also test questions such as T/F, multiple choice, and examples/self-tests for you to work on as you go through each chapter that helped out.

The text is pretty good and thorough for intermediate accounting - sometimes the study guide was a good help as far as summarizing ideas with key terms/key ideas in bold. The T/F questions and multiple choice helped as far as narrowing down important concepts and trying to gather what was really important - this is beyond the homework/and reading the text.

Overall - a pretty good supplement to the textbook and worth getting if you are serious about accounting/business/finance in the long run.

Great help for college class.......2002-04-22

I am currently taking Intermediate Accounting. This book is a supplement to the text. It has been very helpful working through problem that are similar to homework assignments and problems on the test. It has 15 - 20 multiple choice questions at the back of each chapter that are simmular to what you find on the test. It helps you to understand what the author is trying to teach you in the text. Highly reccommended if you want to do well in the class and understand the concepts taught. I plan on buying the next volume for chapters 15-25.

Mediocre, But Not Because of Peg.......2005-08-11

The social anthropology of large organizations. A fascinating idea in principle.

Peg says in this book that you can leverage this as influence to improve the organization's culture.

The shame about it is that many organizations since 1993 have created apocrypha around negative, not positive, events. What captures our collective imagination is Enron, Tyco and Adelphia, not so much the companies that create and share vitality and success.

So, if only we did legendary stuff...

This book is so authentic it will definitely make you laugh. Lala's story of a Mexican-American girl learning about the women in her family's lives are deep, lighthearted, funny, and serious all at the same time. There are serious themes and funny ones, and this book outlines life for Mexican women, and the traditions that follow.

In this familiar story, Cisneros uses the language in a very special way. She mixes English with Spanish expressions to show its bilingual and bi-cultural heritage. A must for all those who want to know more about the Chicano reality.

During the last 3 months, I have read three Hispanic books written in the USA. "Caramelo" "American Dreams" and "El Corrido de Dante". Sincerely, I believe they are the best that I read in many years.

Sandra Cisneros moves gracefully from hope to challenge and onto nostalgia, courage, adventure, and finally to love in "Caramelo". "American Dreams" and "El Corrido de Dante" by Gonzalez-Viana are probably one of the most creative and far-reaching books about the Hispanic immigration to the United States.

I have had the feeling that my readers are the new classic of the American literature for the present century.

In Sandra Cisneros's "Caramelo" Celaya, or Lala tells story of her family who travels to Mexico City every summer to visit her "awful" grandmother. Celaya has six other sibblings and as her family is not well-off, they had to share a tiny apartment in Chicago. Through the eyes of Lala, we learned about her the relationships among her extended family, which was reminded me a lot of the "telenovelas." Their relationships were rather complex as Lala's uncles (Uncle Fat Face and Uncle Baby) were somewhat jealous of her father, and her mother did not get along with her awful grandmother at all. This almost felt like a compilation of stories from different individuals, all told by the rather observant Lala.

I enjoyed reading "Caramelo" as the author did a fantastic job of describing the experiences of a Mexican-American family. It was also great to see things through the eyes of Lala, who was torn between two cultures and had to deal with the pros and cons of having a big family. The characters in this book were extremely memorable and their stories were well-explained. The writing was clear, concise and very conversational. I highly recommend "Caramelo" as it was highly engaging and fascinating.

Noto que los comentarios de la edicion en espanol son todos en ingles. Porque? No los se, pero yo por mi parte estoy contentisima que lo lei en espanol. La verdad, actualmente lo estoy leyendo de vuelta. Como me encantan las voces de los personajes! Ay, cuando la abuela enojona habla es como si estuviera saliendo de las paginas una persona tan inolvidable,tan reganona, tan unica... casi puedo oir su voz en mi cocina. Y saber mas de su ninez nos ayuda en entenderla mejor (aunque sigue siendo dificil...)

La traductora Liliana Valenzuela hizo un trabajo extraordinario con este libro. No hay nada de rigidez ni de torpeza- fluye con gracia y humor.

Me gusta este libro bien mas que La Casa en Mango Street. Este cuento esta lleno de color, de vibracion, de gracia. Lindisimo. GRACIAS!

I love Preacher and have no complaints with the content of the book, but I have a complaint about the paper quality of this volume.

My complaint is that this volume is, for some reason, printed on a noticeably cheaper grade of paper than the other volumes I have, which were printed on the nice glossy paper that all comics should be printed on. A few other Vertigo trade paperbacks I've ordered online recently have use this same grade of paper, is this some kind of cost-cutting measure that they've recently introduced? If the prices of the books were lowered accordingly, I wouldn't mind so much, but it's a little irritating to pay the same price as the volumes that have nice glossy paper and instead get the cheap phonebook-like paper.

I posted a question about this on the Vertigo message boards a couple of weeks ago, but I never got a response.

Stuff about Cassidy the immigrant, and his bastich acts. Early on in his life, Cassidy is fairly useless. He gets asked to protect someone, and fails, he gets in trouble, and runs away. Along the way he becomes a vampire. This just makes him a long lived scumbag, and does not improve things at all.

Stellar Series.......2007-03-19

The Preacher series is a "must have" for any collector of stories who likes a little extreme in their fantasy. Some of the greatest lines and characters are put forth by the incredible team of Ennis and Dillon. If one suspends disbelief on one's own feelings about God and the devil, one can enjoy lightheartedly this tale of servitude...or something.

Another masterpeice by the team of writer Garth Ennis(an Iraish crazed, yet genious writer)and artist Steve Dillon(Ennis's partner in crime, also a little insane, in a good way). These two have put together yet another blood filled, violent, bizzare, and funny masterpeice. The third installment to the 9 volume Preacher series, that follows Jesse Custer, a former preacher who have lost his faith, Tulip, Jesse's gun-wielding girlfriend, and Cassidy, an Irish vampire, on their journey to find God, literally.

This book begins with a flashback talking about Jesse's father John, and his navy days in the Vientam War. Then, the ending to the story arc started in Volume 2, the Grail. We follow Jesses, who have abandoned Tulip for her own safety, on his trip to France to save his buddy, Cassidy. He also meets the Allfather who is the boss of the Grail and can be described as a fat, murderous, digusting pig, another bizzare character created by Mr. Ennis, and also an appearance by the Saint of Killers. Then, the origin to the Irish vampire, Cassidy, telling us of how he became a vampire in the first place, and his early days in America. This series have material on its pages no other comic from any of the major comic companies would dare print, strap-ons, gay sex, extreme violence, profanity, and pure fun. This book is just another emample of the genious of Ennis and Dillon, a great read and a lot of fun doing it.

The art by Dillon was stunning as usual, depicting the graphic violence that not much other artists would dream of drawing. His work is beautiful and complements Ennis's superb writing very well, they make a great team.

This is a must-have if you're a mature reader who likes to disturb and shock oneself. I read this book in one sitting, all 231 pages of it. This is probably best appreciated if you read the last 2 volumes, but not totally nessesary. Don't even think about getting this book if you can be offended by graphic violence, nudity and sexual themes, and profanity. But if you're not, then do yourself a favor and get yourself a copy now, it's worth every penny.

Garth Ennis, Preacher: Proud Americans (DC Comics, 1997)

Garth Ennis' iconoclastic series rolls on here, providing us with a bit of background and developing the storyline. We get information about Jesse's father's time in Vietnam, Cassidy's transformation, and the Grail.

There's really not much to say about Ennis' incomparable series I haven't said in other reviews. This is great stuff. Get it. Preferably in order, but just get it. ****
