Book Description
This symposium continued the tradition of mid-term meetings held between the joint symposia of International Geoid and Gravity Commissions. This time, geodynamics was chosen as the third topic to accompany the traditional topics of gravity and geoid. The symposium thus aimed at bringing together geodesists and geophysicists working in the general areas of gravity, geoid and geodynamics. Besides covering the traditional research areas, special attention was paid to the use of geodetic methods for geodynamics studies, dedicated satellite missions, airborne surveys, geodesy and geodynamics of arctic regions, and the integration of geodetic and geophysical information.

Book Description
Who is Little Monday's mommy? Is she Swan, Bear, or Chipmunk? What about Skunk? Little Monday asks nearly every animal in the forest, but he can't find his mommy anywhere. He's just about ready to give up. Then, late one night, Little Monday looks high into the sky and finally discovers her in a most unexpected place.
By weaving in the legend of the moon rabbit, this gentle story reminds us all that the bond between a parent and child is as far-reaching as the endless night sky.
Customer Reviews:
Wonderful children's story and message.......2007-09-06
A baby rabbit is born in the forest. And now he is all alone. When the other animals find him they name him Little Monday. He makes friends with all the other animals. But as he grows, Little Monday begins to wonder who his mommy is. And why isn't his mommy ever beside him?
Little Monday goes off to ask his friends if they are his mommy. Swan, Bear, Frog, Skunk, and the other animals all say that they aren't his mommy. Little Monday is kind of glad, because Skunk is stinky, and he can't swim like Swan and Frog. He can't fly like Owl or Bird. Each of the animals has some special trait that he can't copy.
Does Little Monday have a Mommy? Will he ever find her?
With You Always, Little Monday is a beautifully illustrated children's book, and an excellent bedtime story. The story blends the story of a mother's love with a worldwide legend. With You Always, Little Monday reminds us all that the bond between a parent and child is as far reaching as the sky.
My five- and two-year-old daughters both enjoyed looking at the pictures and listening to the story over and over. This is a new favorite in our house. Both girls loved the story, and are handing the book to anyone who sits down for a second so we could read it to them.
Armchair Interviews says: Pick up With You Always, Little Monday for your favorite child or grandchild today.
A really sweet book, if you put a little effort into it.......2007-07-08
Let me say that I thought this was a beautiful little book- the illustrations are just so winsome and sweet. The story itself is a familiar one- a little orphan bunny, raised by the other forest animals, goes looking for his mother. The ending is where it might lose your child- maybe before you read the book, explain the legend of the moon rabbit (in the back of the book), or simply show them the shadows on the moon that the story refers to. I didn't even get to the legend at the end with my daughter- she simply deduced that the mommy had died and was watching over the baby from heaven. I let her stay with that assumption- it was much easier for her to understand.
confused.......2007-04-25
In the forest a little rabbit is born. She looks all over the forest for her mother. Along the way she meets lots of animals but none of them are her mom. One night before she goes to sleep she looks up at the moon and sees what she thinks is a shadow of her mom. She fells comforted knowing that her mom is watching over her.
What did you like or not like about the book?
It didn't hold my children's attention very well
I really didn't understand the whole shadow of a rabbit in the moon thing and my kids certainly didn't get it either.
Book Description
Originally published in 1891, Wynema is the first novel known to have been written by a woman of American Indian descent. Set against the sweeping and often tragic cultural changes that affected southeastern native peoples during the late nineteenth century, it tells the story of a lifelong friendship between two women from vastly different backgrounds—Wynema Harjo, a Muscogee Indian, and Genevieve Weir, a Methodist teacher from a genteel Southern family. Both are firm believers in women’s rights and Indian reform; both struggle to overcome prejudice and correct injustices between sexes and races. Callahan uses the conventional traditions of a sentimental domestic romance to deliver an elegant plea for tolerance, equality, and reform.

Book Description
A young boy ventures into the woods and loses his way. He comes upon a rabbit caught in a snare, and frees the frightened animal.
The grateful woodland animals gather together to devise a plan for rescuing the lost boy and returning him safely to his home.
A bear feeds him berries; a wolf watches over him as he sleeps; a dove carries a message to his mother; an eagle will ultimately guide him home.
A warm and reassuring text, enchantingly illustrated, here is a book that's perfect for bedtime sharing.

A Must-Read Bedtime Story with a permanent bookshelf space.......1999-11-15
This book has become one of my 7-year old daughter's favorites, and I never tire of reading it to her, as I was the one who was initially captivated by the enchanting story line and possibly some of the most beautiful illustrations I have ever seen in any book. Its theme is gentle and sweet (albeit very idealistic; I wish every youngster who wandered into the woods alone could encounter such a happy ending); your child will find something new in the incredible illustrations with every reading for a long time!A knockout and must-read!
Beautiful.......1998-11-29
This sweet and gentle story is told gracefully and lushly illustrated. Our 5-year-old loved it, and we loved reading it to her.
Intellectually provocative for young minds.......1998-04-01
This book became my son's bed-time favorite because of the subtle interaction between text and illustration which provoked interesting questions and discussion about animals, child rearing, social relations, environment, agency, etc. --- so much so, that after having outgrown it, he reserves a special place for it on his bookshelves.
A great story with spectacular illustrations.......1997-08-11
If you get this book for your child, expect to be reading it every night for the next six months. My 20-month old daughter demands "Owl story" every night. Even after a hundred readings, we are still discovering new detalis in the illustrations. From a moose hiding in the background to a fairy on a leaf, this book contains more detail than any other children's book I've stumbled across

Customer Reviews:
A fantasy story for a young child with fear of leaving home........2001-08-21
This illustrated book uses the metaphor of a prince on a quest in a large forest. The young prince achieves a sense of mastery and discovers that the forest is not really as threatening as he had expected.
This would be a good bedtime story for a preschool child who is having some concerns about going to daycare, or starting any new activity. It does not directly address the reader about separation anxiety. For some children, the use of this type of indirect metaphorical approach works well. It is nice if the child can draw conclusions himself. However many children may also need the parents to talk about separation issues directly.

Book Description
This is a major biography of one of America's most influential and respected Supreme Court justices by a leading law scholar. In the late 1970s, Earl Warren's papers were opened and G. Edward White, a former law clerk of Warren, was given complete access to research this book. The result is the first study of the Chief Justice to cover his entire political career and to examine aspects of Warren's character that have seemed paradoxical. White goes back to Warren's roots in California Progressivism to illuminate his mid-century liberalism and the controversial decisions over which he presided in the Supreme Court. Based on a wealth of newly available information and White's understanding of Warren's work and personality, this is a fascinating, original portrait of Chief Justice Earl Warren.
