This is insulting to my intelligence.......2007-07-06

I am a school teacher and my district required me to write a book review and comment on the most inspiring aspects of this text. Only problem is, I am not mill worker with a feeble mind; last time I checked I had a real college degree. The prose of this book insults me, explaining large vocabulary words and always dumbing elements down. The analogy of this book insults me, it's written like a children's book that children would hate to read. I am far less inspired to work hard knowing that my supervisors weren't willing to inspire me themselves and instead gave me homework to do. I do not recommend this book.

Another Good Book From Byham and Cox.......2003-02-27

For those of you that read Zapp! this book continues on the same idea. It's in parable form, which makes it easy to read and the points made are on target.

Helped me tremendously when I became a manager. How to tell people what needs to be done and let them figure out how to do it. Learn while following a story. You don't even realize you're learning all the techniques because the story is so fun to read.

The Managers Spell Book.......2000-09-09

Facing the constant threat of Dragons attacking the village, and encountering a mysterious gloomy fog each and every workday, was the reality for the people of Lamron. In order to preserve the village, and bring some meaning to the everyday work experience, change had to happen.

Heroz is a tale of a fictional village, of fictional characters facing problems common to the daily grind of work. Throughout the book, the people working in the arrow factory strive to determine and achieve the goal of the business, to make money and provide the knights charged with slaying the dragons, the quality arrows they need. Throughout the book, the factory workers and management personnel learn to work together, to enhance teamwork and motivation, and experience the enhanced ZAPP! gained by working together.

Heroz is a breeze to read, easy to identify with, especially if you experience the fog that rolls in the workplace at the beginning of the day, and lifts completely only after the last person has gone home. This book is one of the best accounts of WWII suffering I have ever read! Insightful, in-depth, and completely engrossing.

A personal and enlightening read.......2002-01-09

Robert Kee's name should be recognizable by any avid reader of WWII POW stories, and I was delighted when I saw that he had written a book about his experiences.

Starting with his being shot down and ending shortly after the camp is evacuated by the Nazis, Kee's work is a little more introspective than many of the other POW books. He concentrates less on the escaping and more on his feelings and impressions of what he saw and experienced. As such, his work gives the reader a new perspective, an excellent feel for what it was like to be a POW. He even details things that other books have tended to gloss over (and that I always wondered about): how bad the latrine really was, what it was like to live in such close proximity with others, and just how bad the lack of food was, to name a few.

Anyone interested in WWII, war, or POW stories will enjoy this book. I believe that even casual readers will find it an enlightening read, and I fully recommend it to anyone.
