This book/CD is a waste of your time and money, mostly of your money as you can breeze through this ultra lightweight treatment in about 15 minutes. I got the impression that this was originally some kid's grade school video project because of its amateurish production values and condescendingly elementary content. It offers only the most superficial insight into body language and does not offer the depth of information you should expect (...). One segment even contains a clip of a child who looks to be all of 11, trying to convince his little friend that his Harry Potter book is really, really good...with that being about the extent of the little guy's persuasive skills, not withstanding his body language. It may be convincing if you're 11, but the whole package still has the feel of a 5th grade skit. And that kind of nonsense is passed off as some kind of professionally useful insight into body language, ostensibly produced for adult salespeople.

In the spirit of trying out their technique, I am leaning forward as I tell you that this thing is really, really bad. Photos and videos are small and grainy, making it difficult to see the postures and expressions the models are using. And making matters worse, the monotoned narrator is completely unenthusiastic and flat. I thought it was Emo Phillips at first.

This book/CD, despite its serious price, is not serious training for professional salespeople, in fact, it's insulting to view and would be embarrassing to show to others. Get the gold fish and forget this deal.

A Gem of a Book for Growing and Maintaining Blueberries.......2007-09-29

Originally I purchased The Highbush Blueberry book because of my hubby's interest in blueberries. We are not blueberry farmers but have a variety of wild blueberries, including the highbush, growing on our property in P.E.I.,Canada. He was mostly interested in pruning and pest control which are included in the chapters.

I found the book well organized and easy to understand. It contains a wealth of helpful and interesting material on blueberries but may be overwhelming for someone just starting out growing blueberries. By this, I mean the average person, such as myself, who has not done anything but go out to the backyard and pick the fruit, could not imagine all the growth problems explained in this book. My hubby always believed the blueberries grew so abundantly on this Island because of the sandy soil and, also, the moisture which is evident by the heavy dew every morning. The soil also has a lot of iron content.

Burning the fields is often done in this area by commercial growers. I didn't see this mentioned in the book, but burning could be dangerous and may be prohibited in some areas. Periodically burning the bushes, by a controlled fire, would certainly help take care of pruning, some pests and diseases.;)

In summary, Mr. Gough's book on blueberries certainly raised my awareness of all the aspects involved in blueberry management.

Solid Info, however a bit dated.......2007-08-23

The book is very informative, providing me with information I was looking for, however some of the reference material dates back several decades. I was hoping that more current methods of plant maintenance & marketing would be included, nevertheless still a wealth of information on most topics. I would recommend this to anyone interested in starting a blueberry endeavor, or even considering one, which will give you an idea of what is involved and what to expect.

This book is loaded with information. As a novice to blueberries, I will be coming back to this book for years to come as my knowledge increases and hopefully as by bushes grow and produce.

A very comprehensive reference.......2007-07-24

This book is basically a collection of monographs, each on a different integral transform (and most by different authors). There are additional sections which are general references, but they are probably redundant to most people who would actually be using this book.

The book is a bit weighted towards Fourier transforms, but I found the Laplace and Hankel transform sections very good also. I also learned a lot about other transforms I didn't know much about (e.g., Mellin and Radon transforms).

This book may be the best reference out there for non-mathematicians regarding integral transforms, especially regarding the lesser-known transforms. There are plenty of other books on Laplace and Fourier transforms, but not so on most of the others.

I liked the worked examples for almost each important property of each transform. For me, that I how I learn these things.

Rare glimpse of combat from the soldiers themselves.......2003-01-30

Nothing can really substitute for listening to the accounts of the soldiers themselves who fought in war. Much has been written by former soldiers of their trials in combat but rarely are they recorded in an interview. This is an excellent compilation, well recorded and produced, of such accounts from a cross section the various campaigns of WWII. Not many veterans open up to discuss war to their family or anyone so listening to these heroes is a rare exception. My father, a veteran of the ETO, saw horrible combat as he battled through France and into Nazi Germany but never mentioned a word of it to his children. These interviews help fill in some of the gaps in understanding the war from their perspective. Thanks to those soldiers who reopened those painful moments to be recorded for others to hear. Even if you are not a student of history I recommend these just for the inspiring stories themselves.

Whether you are unemployed or unhappily working away, "The Wolf At The Door" may be your first step at taking meaningful strides towards positive change. Sometimes we need someone to take us by the hand and walk us through the baby steps that reap great benefits in life.

It all begins with getting our heads on straight. When we aren't happy in our work, very often we are not happy in our lives. We can change that though. We can always change things. Section one, on grieving job loss, depression, controlling anger, stress and change, I think, is the most important section in the book. It is a section we can all relate to, whether or not our jobs are pleasurable or not. It is a section about yourself and the first steps you need to take to be happy.

Section two is all about getting to know your working self, the person you need to find in order to find the perfect job for you. It will help you to hone in on the skills you have and focus on the positive. Section three is all about the job search and how to make it your own goal setting plan. Section four concentrates on the final lesson plans and going out there to get that job.

The book is a workbook, complete with forms to fill in, breaking down the work into baby steps that we can all handle and appreciate. It is a guide to follow and a hand to hold. It is inspiring and encouraging, like a good mentor. More than an unemployment survival manual, it is a planning guide for happiness in life. I recommend this title to anyone who is even slightly unhappy in their work. I am certain that anyone who reads it will come away having learned something.
