This "handbook" is actually quite large and comprehensive. It covers areas relating to starting a practice (this section is especially helpful and includes a very realistic timetable from conception of a practice to seeing patients), enrolling with health insurance carriers both private and public, buy/sell agreements, employment, and retirement plans as well as many other things. With this book a physician has the resources available to start up a practice without incurring huge costs from a consultant. In addition to the text portion of the book, a CD-ROM is included with form letters and schedules to use as needed. I highly recommend this book for those individuals new and even not-so-new to solo/private medical practice.

A Seed is Something Special Indeed.......2002-03-12

Over the years, the diversity of seeds available to the gardener has decreased considerably. For vegetables, for instance, the number of non-hybrid varieties offered by seed companies is approximately 5,000 between 1984 and 1994, according to one of the authors in this fine book. Not only is this a matter of concern in terms of the stability of our food supply--lack of genetic diversity makes the few remaining species that are widely used much more vulnerable to unforseen problems--it means that many gardeners are being denied the opportunity to grow vegetables that are widely held to be better tasting. One solution is to grow heirlooms and save the seeds year after year, and Starting From Seed is a concise and readable introduction to the vital process of starting and collecting seeds. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to other beginner organic gardeners.

(Alternate carrot seeds with radish seeds because when the radishes sprout, they help to mark the row and break the ground.) 2. Starting along the strip's long edge, fold a third of the paper over the seeds, then fold the other third over. Tamp the paper, misting it again to secure the seeds. Make as many of these strips as you need. Then fold the strips up and carefully carry them to the garden. 3. Make shallow furrows in the prepared soil, lay the strips down, and cover them. A great book for those who are just starting out.......2004-02-02

This book is exactly what it says in the title: a PRIMER and an ALMANAC. It is perfect for those who are starting seeds for the first time and want to know more about preparing, planting and harvesting a garden throughout the year. I loved the monthly to-do lists for each USDA hardiness zone. Now I know what I need to do each month to keep my garden running smoothly. I love Rodale books and this one is no exception. I found this book helpful, informative and inspiring. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to start their own seeds indoors or just needing a good gardening book.

Not much about actual seed starting here!.......2003-02-16

I was looking for a seed-starting primer, like the title promised. Instead, I got probably one full chapter on seed starting, and eleven chapters on general gardening. I usually like what Rodale preaches -- I'm a dedicated composter myself. But if you title a book "Seed-Starting Primer" then I think it should be mostly about starting from seed.

I'm very disappointed and am now looking for an actual seed starting book.

An excellent study of an unknown wonder.......2003-09-13

The loess hills of Iowa and Missouri are the gift of Ice Age dust storms, which deposited this very fertile soil in large piles on the East Bank of the Missouri River. My 2nd grade son loves all of the Ready Freddy! books. The stories really speak to him. Super Secret Valentine was one I thought he might turn his nose up at because of the subject matter, but that was not the case at all. He was more interested in this one than some of the others. We also love Junie B. Jones & Magic Treehouse.

Abby gets a lot of Valentine notes. It happened when she was not ready for a date. She asked Anna if she did it but she said no. In this book, Aby was acting real snobbish.

This book was about a group of young teens Baby sitting and they was haveing alot of problems, it was therer first time and they didn't know what to do. I relly did like this book it tought me alot about Baby sitting. YES, I would recommend this book to other people like young children, and it would be better for young Teens. Because to me it seem to me like if it could teach me alot it will also teach you alot.

Yup, we've all read how moralistic this book is and how if Abby isn't ready for a realationship, then all the more power to her! I agree wholeheartidly but this story is like bones with no meat. It lacks depth and, well, OOPH. You know what I mean, I assume. It is like Anne wrote it in a few minutes, and then ran off to her publisher to get the book published. I love the BSC books, I have been an avid reader from the very start. But it is getting very clear to me that all the new BSC books are getting flowery and kind of, well, stupid. I think it's time to move on to a new series! :)

This book is not very good because Abby finds a lot of Valentine notes on the walls.Her friends try to help her who's been writing notes Anna her sister says she didn't write them at all.

Abby's Unvalentine shows that Abby isn't ready to have a relationship yet. It teaches us to take oour time, if we don't want to do it. Don't. You probably are not ready for it.
