Book Description
This study covers the latent demand outlook for artists’ chalk and crayons, modeling clay and other modeling material, tempera colors, fingerpaint, block printing ink, and watercolors excluding drawing and India ink across the regions of Greater China, including provinces, autonomous regions (Guangxi, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xizang - Tibet), municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Tianjin), special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and Taiwan (all hereafter referred to as “regions”). Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,100 cities in Greater China. For each major city in question, the percent share the city is of the region and of Greater China is reported. Each major city is defined as an area of “economic population”, as opposed to the demographic population within a legal geographic boundary. For many cities, the economic population is much larger that the population within the city limits; this is especially true for the cities of the Western regions. For the coastal regions, cities which are close to other major cities or which represent, by themselves, a high percent of the regional population, actual city-level population is closer to the economic population (e.g. in Beijing). Based on this “economic” definition of population, comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city’s marketing and distribution value vis-à-vis others. This exercise is quite useful for persons setting up distribution centers or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each region and city of influence, latent demand estimates are created for artists’ chalk and crayons, modeling clay and other modeling material, tempera colors, fingerpaint, block printing ink, and watercolors excluding drawing and India ink. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent resource for managers.......2001-03-16
I have read and used Bob Nelson's "1001 Ways to Energize Employees" and "1001 Ways to Reward Employees" in developing my business. As the president/co-founder of an executive recruiting firm, I have used his practical advice and tips to motivate our salespeople. I would recommend this book to any manager interested in nurturing top talent and performance within their organization. Bob's methods are simple, easy to implement and they work. I have also given copies of "1001 Ways..." to clients who have also found his advice extremely useful.
This library can change behavior.......2001-03-11
As an HR manager, I've been attending Bob Nelson seminars and buying his books for years. These books are full of highly practical, actionable advice that, if followed, can literally change the behavior of talented but sullen employees who often simply don't get the validation they need from their managers. Research shows that employees don't leave their jobs, they leave their managers--and in this climate we can't afford for that to happen. I will also recommend Beverly Kaye's excellent book "Love 'Em or Lose 'Em" as another great tool for retaining your best and nurturing your brightest.
Book Description
It's the million-plus-copy bestseller that every manager and employer needs, whether they supervise one employee or one thousand. Because what really motivates people to perform are thoughtful, personal gestures that signify real appreciation--and don't necessarily cost money.
A chock-full guide to rewards of every conceivable type for every conceivable situation, 1001 Ways to Reward Employees offers over 1000 innovative ideas beyond the expected raise or promotion. They range from a simple, unexpected "thank you" to Ford Motor Company's use of employees in commercials to programs such as Home Depot's Employee-of-the-Month Award--honorees receive $100 and a merit badge, and get their names engraved on a plaque.
In researching the book, author Bob Nelson interviewed supervisors at all types and sizes of businesses in all parts of the country, finding inventive and effective employee rewards in every sector. No matter how many people you manage, you will find lots of ideas that will work for you and your business.
Customer Reviews:
Reward yourself- buy this book........2007-09-07
This book is great and works under the premise that you get the best effort out of people not by lighting a fire under them, but by building a fire within them. In short, its simply a collection of ways to reward employees for doing a good job. Its divided into 6 sections (day to day rewards, intangible rewards, tangible rewards..) so there's definitely a boatload of reward ideas to fit just about any work situation. Examples from companies across the United States make it a fun read as well. Also recommended: The Sixty-Second Motivator to learn the basics of motivating people.
Management Techniques that work........2007-08-13
Finding management and team building books in 2007 is easy. The problem is finding what works. Bob Nelson may not be the most prolific writer, but what he does write is usually of high quality, and 1001 Ways is no exception. I learned many new ideas that I was able to use right away. The results were startling. I was so excited that I showed the book to a friend that works in Human Resource at a large company. As it turns out, she had also read the book and agreed. This book will get you results.
1001 Ways to Reward Employees.......2007-04-02
User friendly, Great examples, works well in group discussions. If you want to examine your organization's recognition and rewards program this is an excellent source.
Decent ideas.......2007-01-04
This book has a lot of ideas on how to reward employees. Most of them only seem possible at larger companies or with the right type of people. Still worth reading for ideas.
It says "Money isn't everything" - but apparently it is.......2006-12-24
I own a charity-focussed website, and have over 300 volunteers who donate their time and effort towards the site's efforts. We deliberately channel all the extra money we can towards charities. I greatly value and appreciate all of the volunteers efforts and try to do my very best to show them my appreciation. I bought this book looking for ways to help those volunteers to feel cared for and respected.
You get about 225 pages worth of one-paragraph blurbs describing specific ways that companies have recognized their employees. Many of these, despite the book's subtitle of "low cost ideas", are rather expensive. Leo Burnett provides $3,000 in adoption assistance. Kollmorgen Corporation takes its people for ocean cruises. Domino Pizza holds company-wide Olympics, giving away $4,000. I just don't have that kind of budget.
Still, as with most management books, if you go through the details, you can pick out a few great ideas amongst all of the ones which are entirely unworkable. You can make a hall of fame of outstanding employees. Create awards for individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty. Recognize great contributions immediately, and encourage people to offer up suggestions on how to improve things. Find ways to help your employees become healthier and happier.
I really did appreciate many of the suggestions, like offering cash prizes, would help companies with spare cash. I think I was disappointed because right at the top of the book it says "money isn't everything" and "low-cost ideas". There were a few inexpensive ideas at the beginning of the book - and then it promptly went into things requiring a fair amount of money or are simply cash bonusses. If I had money to burn, then I could *easily* think up thousands of ways to reward my volunteers without any help at all. That would be easy! The balancing act is that I do *not* have a lot of money - but want those volunteers to know how incredibly valuable they are. That is the challenge, and I had hoped this book would help me with that. The book claimed on its cover that it would ... but that wasn't quite what it offered.
For those with a fair amount of money, the book will be a great help. However, I think that it should remove the "money isn't everything" title at the top, given how many of its suggestions are either cash awards, or costly items.

Realistic pictures take the cake.......2005-02-17
If you want a book with color photo's that are very realistic in the depiction of objects as seen at the eyepiece then get this book. I have not seen a better book in this respect and use this book as a reference source after sketching an object at the eyepiece. Covers all the Messier Objects and some extra NGC objects.
Deep Sky Viewing.......2000-07-23
The Cambridge Deep-Sky album is exactly the book I wanted. It shows some of the more common deep sky objects. It shows them just as I see them in my small telescope. The pictures are true to life not like the pictures often seem taken with the Hubble. The authors used the same scale for each of the photographic plates. They also used very little artifical enhancement. I finally have a book that shows me what to look for before I find it. I love it. Thanks for finding it Amazon.

The Messier Album by Mallas-Kreimer.......2005-11-28
Mallas wrote for Sky and Telescope Magazine years ago, is a well done book with photos galore and Mallas descriptions using his 4 inch (Unitron) Refractor..
Slight weakness is the locaters not as well done as the modern Messier books available..
Strongly suggest it for anyone using this size instrument..

Book Description
Detailed botanical classic, originally published by Chicago Natural History Museum, presents all known orchids of Guatemala and Belize—a total of 527 species and 25 varieties in 89 genera. All genera illustrated, as well as more than 100 additional species in 204 detailed black-and-white illustrations.
Customer Reviews:
Old orchid classic.......2005-07-28
Orchids of Guatemala and Belize is an old classic, with several volumes which have been reprinted in a softcover, low cost format. It's useful, however most of the taxonomy is outdated. This is a volume that surely is a good acquisition for any orchid library, and good value in the relation to the low cost and thickness, however the reader should not expect many illustrations. There are no pictures, and only a limited number of line drawings in relation to the total number of species covered.
A must for orchid lovers everywhere........2001-08-01
Oakes Ames and Donoval Stewart Correll excelled themselves with this fabulous addition to worldwide botanical knowledge. Featuring a listing of the then-known 531 species found in Guatemala and its northeastern neighbor Belize, it also includes dozens of detailed black-and-white drawings depicting the different parts of the plant like roots, leaves and flowers. Each genus is followed by a detailed description and a key to identify the different species present in it. Each species is followed by its appropriate list of synonyms, a tremendously detailed description, and sometimes a few words to compare and contrast with similar species. It also features a complete introduction to the orchid family, including illustrated characteristics and descriptions, and a brief essay on the distribution of Guatemalan orchids. The book, divided in two parts, was later grouped with a third addition describing some newly found species and other places where they had been found. All three parts make up this outstanding volume, packed with interesting remarks, fascinating facts and beautiful illustrations - a "must" for orchid lovers everywhere!

Couldn't Put it Down.......2005-12-05
Even though I didn't read The Evil Twin first (and still haven't), I loved this book. I honestly couldn't put it down. It was just impossible, especially since I was a little scared. I started on it in the afternoon and honestly stayed up late in the night reading it because I knew that if I didn't read the ending first, I'd be too scared to sleep. When the ending of the book finally came up, a huge grin broke out over my face, and I was so happy that I talked to my dad about it because he was up too. I hadn't talked to him for a while before that. Lol, it makes you do things you wouldn't normally do. The ending just had me so freakin' relieved. I love this book!

At a New Year's Carnival,Jessica disappears and Margo takes her place.Nora Accidentally kills Margo, instead of Jessica.
awsome awsome! book!.......2003-10-26
ok usually i just read sweet valley jr. high but i found this in my school library and omg! i loved it i couldnt put it down ! this is the best book iv ever read iv never read the first eveil twin but im going too anyway fans this book rocks you HAVE to read it even my mom read it and she bawled! whoo!
Good book, too many plotholes though............2002-04-18
This book is the sequel for "The Evil Twin" It's about Margo's twin sister Nora who comes to Sweet Valley at first to search for her twin and then she realizes she is actually dead, but by some reason, that can only happen on books and movies, Margo is really alive and they both plot to take over both of the teens lives!
This book was okay not as good as the original, though plus there was too many plotholes from the first book:
1. This is really 2 years after the Margo thing, not one year, last year was the year Jessica was engaged to that Jeremy guy and he tried to kill her or something.
2. Even if this book takes place one year after the Margo thing, why are the twins still 16 year old high school juniors??
3. When Nora's stepmom is telling her the history about her and Margo, she says Margo was given away when she was 3 or 4, but in the original book, it states Margo was abandoned as a baby.
4. Since Nora is supposed to be just 17, wasn't it illegal for her stepmom to throw her out the way she did?
5. If Margo could have survived the way she did, which in reality is not possible, where had she been the past year(s)? That wasn't explained at all
Other then that the book is not bad, but not up to the original either.
The Best Sweet Valley Book Ever!!!.......2001-10-10
This is probably the best Sweet Valley book ever! It has everything-romance, suspence, drama. I just couldn't put it down and have read it multiple times. It is definately a book you just can't miss, especially if you are a Sweet Valley fan.
