OK on QuickBooks, not OK for complete idiots.......1999-09-19
QuickBooks 99 is a royal pain to use, so I bought this book to learn how to use it. The author does a good job of explaining how to use the software (and I really like the way QuickBooks commands are colored in orange), but unfortunately she forgets that the reader is a "complete dummy" who also needs a crash course on accounting. There is some basic information, but not enough to help you understand why you are using a particular function of QB to do something.
Still, I recommend this book over "QuickBooks 99 for Dummies."

Not worth looking at!.......1999-11-11
This is bascially a rehash of everything that is in the manual that comes with QuickBooks/QuickBooks Pro and the help available within the program. The few "hints" have no substance.
Great help for new users! Tells you how ,what ,and where........1999-07-14
After struggling with the manual supplied by Intuit I was overjoyed to find the answers to my questions in this Special Edition of Using Quickbooks and Quickbooks Pro. It contains a wealth of information and tips from one who obviously has used Quickbooks extensively.Worth twice the price.

Customer Reviews:
Didn't say anything new........2001-06-06
This book is in a very user friendly format because it is spiral bound. But, the info contained in it is not any different than what I had learned by using the program or reading the help menu or the manual that came with the software. I never did find out how to do the things I didn't know how to do, which is why I bought the book. This book seems like it is a copy of the software's help menu and manual. I've already gotten rid of it.
Not too technical.......2000-07-12
Just covers the basics. This is not the book for more technical info.
Step by Step instructions- Just do it!.......1999-04-09
As an independent software instructor I love training with my Byte by Bite Quick Reference guides. Whatever the problem, we can solve it with Byte by Bite! Don't sit up late reading a manual. Get a good nights rest and start working immediately with QuickBooks Pro 99 or any of the other Byte by Bite Quick Reference guides!
quick guide.......1999-03-31
simple quick guide, but if you need more information, this book doesn't have it. Not as informative as other manuels, but ok for very simple reference.
This book should only cost $5.00, instead of $15, considering "Offical Quickbook 6.0 "guide cost $15 and have a ton of information. Try that book instead, if you want more infor.
Quickbook pro user.

Book Description
This book shows to plan and plant a diverse natural lakeshore landcape. Features information on how to restore wildlife habitat, wildflowers and clear water--preserve or restore the natural beauty that attracted you to lakeshore living in the first place. The principles and techniques in this book are also applicable for landscaping along rivers, streams and wetlands. Also features lakeshore rules and regulations for Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Customer Reviews:
This has been a very useful book.......2007-06-29
This book is wonderful for two reasons.
1: It sumarizes & clearly illustrates basic concepts for those unfamiliar with how landscaping & vegetation choices/arrangements effect water quality. I've resorted to showing more than one person sections of this book when I'd failed to explain how to, or why to, restore native vegetation in someone's yard. I imediatly saw a smile of comprehension.
2: Appendix A, is a useful reference even for people familiar with native plants. The "Restore Your Shore" CD, that I also own, is a waste of time. Use this book.
I've many books that focus on subtle floristic diferences on which traditional taxonomic names are based, yet say hardly a sentence about the ecological niche and life requirements of the plant. Some books catalog what county species have been sighted, yet fail to mention that a plant requires ponded water. I hope this book sets a new standard.
This appendix has basic information one needs to find a good home for a purchased plant.
Flower color, bloom season, typical height, appropriate spacing
moisture habitat(deep water, shallow water, wet soil, upland mesid, upland dry), and light requrementsFull sun (8+ hours), Partial Shade (4+ hours), and Shade (no direct sun).
What animals use it...
Besides typo-errors of the sort Google corrects if you search for "Hevchera richardsonii", I've yet to find a substantive errors in this reference. Plant spacing and heights are by nature variable.
Please read this if you own lakeshore!.......2002-06-19
We are upsetting nature and killing our lakes with lawns to the waters edge and removing all the natural vegetation. Read this book before you start landscaping. You can make it a win-win situation with you and nature.
Invaluable Resource For Lakeshore Property Owners.......2000-06-12
As a lakeshore property owner in northern Minnesota I would like this book to be read by all lakeshore property owners. Lakeshore environments are in need of our best conservation efforts.
Learning about the role of "aquatic weeds," dead trees, "brush," and live trees enables us to improve lake water quality and our relationship with wildlife. The information, presented by authors with expertise, will be useful in the planning of your lakeshore while learning about and understanding the wonderful diversity of lakeshore environments.
The layout's inviting, full of graphics and easy to read. The nine chapters deal with lakeshore landscaping and problems, site preparation and plant installation, shoreline stabilization and maintenance, good stewardship and more.
There are also thirteen useful appendices that include the state rules of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan, while other appendices help you identify and locate native plants and invasive non-native plants.
This is the perfect gift for every lakeshore property owner! Full of information and fun to read!

Book Description
rady Flood and his mom, Lila, have been on the road ever since Grady's dad died seven years ago. When their old car breaks down, they find themselves stranded in rural Pennsylvania where Lila gets work as a cook and caretaker. There's nothing out of the ordinary in that, unless you factor in her new employer. Eighty-five-year-old Charlie Fernwald, a skilled mechanic and bird enthusiast, is definitely out of the ordinary. In fact, if Grady's not mistaken, Charlie is a certifiable 'wing nut.' Grady and Lila plan to leave as soon as they have enough money to repair their car. For the time being, Grady figures, he can help Charlie with his birds and maybe even learn how to fix a car engine. But before he can do either, something goes terribly wrong. In her warm and engaging style, MJ Auch crafts a compelling novel about family, forgiveness, and the true meaning of home.
Customer Reviews:
Wing Nut.......2007-08-13
I thought that this book took place a long time ago with the look of the cover and reading the first few chapters, but it takes place now. It's about a 12 year old boy Grady and how he and his mom are trying to just get by. Grady reads in this book about another character to make his life feel better and if you think your life is tough you may feel better about your situation after reading about Grady although there is a more happy than sad ending.
Characters shine in this story.......2005-09-12
Twelve-year-old Grady Flood shines in this story of a boy, his mother, and the strange old man who reluctantly takes them in after their car breaks down in a rural Pennsylvania town. After his father was crushed under a car he was repairing, Grady and his mother, Lila, drift from place to place trying to survive. Lila, a hard but uneducated worker, falls back on her skills as a housekeeper and cook to find work in communes. Grady is alternately annoyed and worried about his pretty mother. He feels an urgent need to protect her from unwanted male attention, yet wishes in turn that she would worry more about his needs for a permanent home.
At first, old Charlie Fernwald, a retired farmer who knows how to repair engines and has a passion for saving purple martins, refuses to take the pair in. But since his son insists he needs a caretaker, he allows Lila and Grady to stay just long enough to fool his son into thinking someone is caring for him. Lila works hard to prove her worth as a cook while Grady follows the old man around. He thinks Charlie's fascination with purple martins makes him a "wing nut" and soon he is secretly saving the house sparrows that Charlie wants to kill because he insists they attack his purple martins.
Charlie and Grady form an uneasy but endearing friendship. Gruff and stubborn, Charlie can't help being disarmed by Grady's willingness to work hard. He soon sees Grady's vulnerabilities and worries and takes an interest in Grady's spotty schooling, even offering to home-school Grady.
M. J. Auch gradually reveals more and more facets of Grady's character. He comes across as a multi-faceted and realistic boy. His thoughts reveal a boy who is struggling with a variety of developmental issues. He willingly takes on responsibility but soon makes mistakes that reveal his need for guidance from Charlie. And Grady does make plenty of mistakes. He's stubborn, opinionated, and determined to control some of Lila's choices in an attempt to control his own life.
Charlie, too, is well-developed and endearing. He reveals his own prejudices and hard-headedness, yet soon shows a softer side as he tries to father young Grady. Grady and Lila have a difficult time accepting help from Charlie, and he has a hard time giving it at times, but soon the three of them begin to form a family unit despite their determination not to get involved with each other.
Their attachment is threatened by Grady's mistakes and Charlie's anger, but each character has grown just enough to overcome the failures and hang on to what they've found together.
There's a lot to learn in this quiet story. Just as they grow to like each other, these characters grow on the reader, pulling you into their lives and leaving you satisfied that despite their many challenges, they've all found a hopeful new beginning by story's end.

Product Description
This study covers the world outlook for flat, washer, crowned, heavy, track, sleeve, and machine square nuts, sheet metal nuts, weld nuts, wing nuts, and nut retainers excluding aircraft types across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-à-vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

Book Description
WHAT IS LATENT DEMAND AND THE P.I.E.?
The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly defined by economists as the industry earnings of a market when that market becomes accessible and attractive to serve by competing firms. It is a measure, therefore, of potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) or total revenues (not profit) if a market is served in an efficient manner. It is typically expressed as the total revenues potentially extracted by firms. The “market” is defined at a given level in the value chain. There can be latent demand at the retail level, at the wholesale level, the manufacturing level, and the raw materials level (the P.I.E. of higher levels of the value chain being always smaller than the P.I.E. of levels at lower levels of the same value chain, assuming all levels maintain minimum profitability).
The latent demand for flat, washer, crowned, heavy, track, sleeve, and machine square nuts, sheet metal nuts, weld nuts, wing nuts, and nut retainers excluding aircraft types is not actual or historic sales. Nor is latent demand future sales. In fact, latent demand can be lower either lower or higher than actual sales if a market is inefficient (i.e., not representative of relatively competitive levels). Inefficiencies arise from a number of factors, including the lack of international openness, cultural barriers to consumption, regulations, and cartel-like behavior on the part of firms. In general, however, latent demand is typically larger than actual sales in a country market.

The market is defined at a given level in the value chain.
For reasons discussed later, this report does not consider the notion of unit quantities, only total latent revenues (i.e.,
