As a PhD student in Organization Behavior and i have read a good deal in the field. This book is the both the most impressive synthesis of the existing literature and the most useful handbook for organizing future research ideas that i have seen.

This book examines the quantitative role of respiration in the growth and productivity of major field crops, an issue of profound significance for theoretical and applied plant sciences. if you are a fan of the game, this is for you.

I'm a fan and always will be. I got this book, mostly for myself, but also for my son, who someday I hope will be as big a fan as I am. I wanted to get something that will help to give him a visual history of the game and I think SI captured it perfectly here. Kudos to SI on this book as well as the baseball book.

Compared in price to other books of this quality, you can't help but feel you've beaten the house in this deal.

I gave this book to my son for Christmas. It was a hit. The celebration was forgoten and all we did from then on was look and wow at this book. If you want a book that will really blow a football fan away, this is it.

I'm not a football person, but my teenage nephews are, and they couldn't put this book down on Christmas day after opening it. They were intrigued by the articles as well as the pictures - this hefty book had every football fan waiting for a turn to look at it. My son is mad that I didn't get one for our family.

I remember getting this book as a kid for christmas from my dad. Every christmas he would get me a book he thought I would enjoy. This is actually my favorite book from growing up. I must have read or looked through it hundreds of times. There is pretty much any information you would want to read about pertaining to the history of the Dallas Cowboys, everything from the creation of the franchise to season by season accounts. I think fans of other sports teams will enjoy reading this book. The information may be a little dated now but anybody that enjoys reading about the history of the NFL should enjoy it.

A bit quaint, but good.......2007-01-14

For all the talk about Xs and Os in today's football, there isn't that much mention of technique. Coach Wilkinson's book acts as a corrective. Linebackers are instructed to take thier first step backwards, tacklers are asked to aim for the belt buckle, and pass rushers can choose between The Swim, The Cross Cut and The Wide Loop. Not that the book is only about technique. There's discussion of the 3-4 and the 4-3, overs and unders, the four-deep secondary, and so on.

You don't however, here anything about zone blitzes or the Cover-2. To some extent, this isn't intended to be that type of book, but it's also a bit dated. Throughout, defensive tackles are called guards, and defensive ends are called tackles. On a couple of diagrams, cornerbacks are referred to as halfbacks.

There's something quaint about this book, but I suspect some NFL players could learn a few things from it.
