Most importantly, the book lacks any system and after reading it you do not really get the big picture and systematic view of hte auditing process. Many chapters are long winded: it takes the authors long time to say something. The cases are not as many and do not give very good examples of the auditing process as I was expecting before buying the book.

The Best book for learning auditing.......2000-05-15

First, the book begins with a case of small business (Andrew and James, two friends, are going in a busines of selling of a bunkrupt stock; James stays out of active business due to a accidental broken leg till the end of the 6 month period where this the time for sharing the profit of this joint-venture.) which is the clearest one telling the very concept of the subject (auditing in this case). And also the presantion is very good, case studies, activities are very good and subject is clearly explained around those. The small notes at side of each page are also very informative and they accelarate the reading and understanding of the subject. The questions and answers at the second part of the book (actually 30 pages at the end of the book of total 650 or so pages of the book)is very helpful. And each chapter contains at the end a useful list of reading materials as referance and further reading. If you want to learn auditing process both in theory and practice this the book where you should look at first.

This is one of the best written, most comprehensive and accurate children's books about Alaska that I have found. The illustrations are well drawn and clever. This book holds the interest of young children and I would recommend it as a great addition to any young child's library.

I was given this book by my aunt who moved to Point Barrow, Alaska to be a teacher there. She gave me this book to teach me about where she was to be living. This book taught me a lot in a very educational way. I highly recommend it, The pictures are great too!!

Terrific Book.......2006-07-24

This text is great and the CD-ROM which lets u take and review practice tests may even better. I was surprised at the effectiveness of the text. All the material was presented in sufficient detail to answer your questions, but no not so detailed as to be burdensome as a college degree. The end result for me was a perfect score on all four sections of the test, but I took a LOT of practice tests. YOU NEED THIS BOOK & CD!

Get Your Captain's License, Third Edition.......2005-10-09

This new 3rd edition is better than the fist two. It is not a complete guide to all you need to learn to test for a USCG License, but it is a good base. There are still a few corrections needed in the rules that should have been updated for this 3rd edition and not all the study text agrees with the USCG questions. The CD tests is okay for review and gives a good feel of what needs to be studiedfor the USCG exams. Over all makes a great referance and should help anyone looking for a lower level license.

Get Your Captain's License Ed. 3.......2004-10-15

I received this volume in the mail about two weeks ago and have been hard at work using it to prepare for my exam. While not yet licensed, I have boated and sailed much of my life and am familiar with most of the material in it already.

The new edition is quite thorough. It not only presents all the questions, but has substantial guides preceding each section to help you understand the principles, which I find to be the most helpful feature of all. The volume's only weakness is it is written in a very dry, technical manner making it somewhat laborious to read. Also, if you are not already familiar with some of the concepts, you need to read more basic, outside resources to prepare you to study them in this book, otherwise it will leave you behind. However, if you are not familiar with the material in this text, you probably should not be applying for licensure yet either.

Finally, the new version of the software is very good. It still does not offer to test on the navigation problems. The author correctly states it cannot do this because one cannot plot with compass and parallel ruler from charts on a computer screen. However, I wish the software offered the tests anyway so that I could at least put my answers down and have it confirm them. It would just be more convenient for practicing.

A Good Start.......2003-01-08

No single text is going to allow you to ace the test, but this should be one of the ones you use. This is the second edition and supposedly updated as of 2000. While much of the information is available on the Coast Guard web site, Wing does a good job of "packaging it" to make it much more readable. I found the light and signal summaries worth the price of the book. Without these two summaries, memorization of the many, many lights and signals would be much harder. Another plus is a "plain english" version as well as the original rules - much more readable and easier to learn.

introducing guide to city highlights and surroundings.......2005-08-26

I was looking for some guides to get an impression of what is to do and see in San Fransisco and browsing the internet came to this book which looked attractive. Well, that's what this is, an attractive guide to the city highlights and S.F. suuroundings, in alfabetical order. Wheter it will be useful as a guide when you are in the destination it self remains questionable, although there are throughout some useful tips for sightseeing but don't suspect to much of that. For example only the most expensive hotels are mentioned. It is lavishly illustrated with beautifully pictures, much of places outside the city centre and it includes an outfolding map. Having several other books about S.F. I doubt that this book will give me more or other information but that is not its primary goal, just to give an overall impression of what to expect and how to get there et al. To that it has sufficient to offer and comes in an handy format. It is certainly not comparable to the Lonely Planet S.F. edition which has much more inside information. Or the Michelin Green Guide which goes deeper to the attractions of S.F. and is much more detailed. But overall not a bad guide to start with. Recommendable.

This book is a great continuing adventure of Con's. When you find out that Con and Hannah are going to Romania you know that the adventure is not going to be the same as the last two adventures. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every thing is full of suspense.

While still not as good as the first book in the series, Secret of the Mezuzah, this is a well-written adventure story that continues the theme of anti-Semitism in present-day Europe and also introduces the poverty of post-communist Romania. Despite some amazing coincidences that keep the plot tidy, the book is highly recommended for mature children and young teens.
