Titles are decieving..........2003-08-24

This book is by no means basic as the subtitle "an introductory textbook" states. In fact, this is one of the most detailed, and comprehensive books available on the subject. Covering everything from total plant anatomy all the way to pathology, nutrition, propagation, and beyond, it is an invaluable resource for any hort or botany student. Hobbyists will also find this book invaluably enlightening, as it can help them answer common questions such as why leaves on tomato plants are turning yellow.

Great book invaluable to horticultural students.......2000-11-15

I have recently completed a BSc (HONS) in horticulture and found this book very useful. I used many text during my degree, however this was the one I refered to most. I think that students particularily in the initial stages of a degree or diploma course would find the book most valuable. Many areas of interest are covered e.g. biological control of plant pathogens, irrigation and many other areas that may not be apparent from the books title. There are many good pictures and diagrams and each chapter has useful references. This book will also be of interest to horticultural professionals.

I am not a coach but I try to know as much as I can about the sports that my children are involved. My husband and I used some of the drill techniques with our children and the results were great. We did not get frustrated and we had a great family time. My husband stepped into the "assistant coaches" position half way into the season and he saw marvelous results by using these drills. The team begged to practice some of the drills! A must-have for all coaches!

Billie Winkler and Steven Wakefield are going to have a baby! Billie is pregnant! Elizabeth blows the top off a restauraunt called "Kitty's" I think it's where prostitutes hang out. She gets fired. Billie loses the baby by miscarriage.

This book was great! Billie and Steven go through hard times, with a surprise ending. Jessica sees her ex-husband, Michael McAllery again, and is determined to prove she can handle anything. Even a new job. Elizabeth works undercover as a waitress for a sleazy night club. I loved this part of the storyline. She had to put up with a lot of perverted guys, but really told them off! The nightclub only allows women with large breasts to waitress it. Elizabeth does some padding and heads on in! It was really cool how she and the other waitresses showed those men a thing or two! This is a great book!

Some great lessons on REALLY growing up..........1998-11-18

Jessica has the unfortunate tendency to be flighty and boy-crazy, but with Steven's help gets a job. Hopefully, she'll learn what maturity is and realize the difference between deep love and infatuation. And that Lila...boy, does she learn a lesson when she gets fired from her job that the world does NOT revolve around her just because she's rich! Great job Liz did on exposing the porn business at Kitty's. Also great on how the other women stood behind her. I think Steven ought at be happy for Billie that she has musical talent and not pressure her into law. Sure, she may go away for a while, but REAL love is when you can spend time apart as well as together.

The single best business book I ever read.......2006-07-20

One year after receiving my MBA, I happened by my old campus library and found this book in the discard rack. Since it was only about 75 cents, I took a chance. Boy, did I get my money's worth and then some. Talk about a positive Net Present Value investment!

Apart from being very funny, this short (166 pages including the index) tome contained more practical knowledge than any of the textbooks that I had trudged through in the previous 2 years.

The book is set up as a collection of 32 essays broken up into 5 general topics; Marketing, HR, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, and Change.

The common tool in all these essays is the fictional interaction between the author and famous people (the Pope, Micheal Jackson, Gandhi, etc.) that the author freely admits he has never met.

No ambiguity here. Mr. Gibbons says whatever is on his mind, and there is no missing his central points.

This is an excellent book. I would have given it 5 stars, but with a copyright of 1996, I fear it' Pop culture references are growing a bit dated.

Perhaps it is time for an update (working title: "This indecision is ABSOLUTELY final. (This time I mean it!)")
