Practical resource.......2002-04-06

This learning resource is an excellent addition to any developers' library of materials. It has clear, practical advice on how to develop effective coaches as well as a collection of fine exercises. The exercises are mostly based around real life practice. Too often these kinds of collections are full of exercises that look fun to do but are disconnected from work. This pack does not fall in to that trap. The exercises are graded - from easy to use to those that are more advanced. However the authors give very clear guidance on how to use them and show some examples of how the exercises could be put together to create workshops on different aspects of coaching.

I would recommend this pack unreservedly. It meets a real need - organizations desperately need to develop the coaching capability of their managers and this material will really fill a gap in the market.

Very Valuable Material.......2002-03-29

I have found this material very valuable for developing managers as coaches. The big plus for me is that the exercises are mostly based around real work. I find that managers do not like artificial exercises that seem too disconnected from real work. Also the provision of the material for use in workshops is first rate. Finally I liked the fact that the authors have given guidance on how to put the materials together to produce a coherent workshop.

Excellent resource.......2002-03-26

This is an excellent resource for trainers. It has many original exercises as well as clear guidance on what to do with the matierla. Also the introductory material gives a clear jargon-free explanation of the value of coaching. It is the best on the market, as far as I can see.

Celia Thaxter was already a popular poet when she began to publish the essays of Among the Isles of Shoals in the Atlantic Monthly in 1869; they were an immediate sensation. Charles Dickens called Thaxter's essays "admirable" and Horace Greeley declared, "The best prose writing I have seen for a long time is Mrs. Thaxter's 'Isles of Shoals' in the Atlantic. Her pen-pictures are wonderfully well-done."

Published as a book in 1873, Among the Isles of Shoals remained equally popular, printed not only in hardcover but also in a fifty-cent guidebook edition which was sold in railway stations. Now generally considered to be Thaxter's masterpiece, Among the Isles of Shoals is available once again in this new edition.

Thaxter herself was raised on the Isles of Shoals, a group of nine small, rocky islands off the coast of New Hampshire, and she lived there off and on for much of her life. This lyrical volume seamlessly blends natural history, oral tradition, and personal observation to create a work that one critic says feels "somehow distilled from the islands themselves."

The bleak landscape of the Isles of Shoals has changed little since the time that Thaxter wrote this tribute, but as the Hartford Courant noted upon its original publication, "whether the traveler goes to these isles or not, if he has this little volume in his pocket, wherever he is he will have a most charming companion."

Well written. had to keep reminding myself this was written in the 1800's. Good overview of the islands and reflections of life in those times.

I absolutely loved this book...........2004-06-08

I had trouble putting this book down. I only did to make it last longer.
Celia totally loved her garden. She wrote about the flowers she planted, the birds who came to visit, and her battle with slugs. How I pulled for her to defeat those slugs!
This book had me itching to work in my own garden. I plan to read it every spring.
If you find it interesting reading about other people's exploits with their own gardens then you should enjoy this delightful book.

haney needs to write another book. i think he does have a great understanding of the swing, but it doesn't come through at all in this book. he pretty much loses the reader in the first chapter and it only gets worse.

he opens by stating the goal of the swing is to keep the club on the same arc established by the shaft angle at address, but doesn't really explain why this is the objective and then proceeds to make a complete mess of trying to explain how to achieve this goal.

Haney's best comments are saved for his TV color job - which at times can be very good - and I guess his work with Tiger Woods. for the rest of us, if you're looking for instruction on developing an on-plane swing try jim hardy's "plane truth."

I am a 50 year old struggling 25 handicapper who has finally decided to take lessons or quit. People, you can read 100 books on the golf swing, and I imagine some of you have, but you won't know what you're doing wrong without feedback. Take a golf lesson and have someone show you, through video, what is going on. Oh sure, there are some gifted athletes out there who can self improve just by reading a book. Not possible with an average person. In the long run lessons will be cheaper than buying books. I have read many books including all of Hank Haney's and I thoroughly enjoy reading them, but you can't fix what's broke without help- trust me. Go ahead and read the books, but take a few lessons and your game will take off. Improvement takes time, some money, and practice. With three lessons I have started scoring in the mid 80's. It is fun to play again. I can't wait to get out there and beat my best score.

Good book, but suggest Steve Elkington's book instead. Go back to the fundamentals and stop over-analyzing your swing.

Couldn't put the book down. It is a well written, straight forward guide to self assessment of golf swing issues. I love his approach to fixes and improvement and found it far more useful than any other golf instructional book I've read. I wish he had a local school.

What you NEED!.......2002-06-07

If your a RolePlayer , this is deffinetly a game to have. Jam packed with adventures and fun filled things to use. If your a DM/GM this book is also great for using with other adventure games.

Blast from the Past--before the Cartoons and the Movies.......2000-05-08

The first time I played this RPG was eight or nine years ago. Still, I think of it as the basis by which all other games I play are judged--which shows how much of an impact it has made on me.

First off, this was the first product (besides the original comic book) featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to be released. To that end, the entire game, as well as the gameplay, retain the "edge" that the comic had when it was first released in 1984.

If you've never played a Palladium game, then I highly recommend this one. The character generation system is unique, providing a flexible way to generate thousands of variations of major animals--including psionics, animal powers, and size levels. You can create characters that range from intelligent animals with all of their natural abilities intact (claws, teeth, etc.) to completely human-looking creatures who have only slight flaws that reveal their animal background, as well as any of the types in between. There are tons of supplements, as well as easy crossover to any of the other settings Palladium has established. (Rifts, Heroes Unlimited, and Ninjas and Superspies, to name a few). I know it might be considered blasphemy to the "Siembiotes" (fans of the Palladium CEO--Kevin Siembieda) out there, but Erick Wujcik is the more talented writer of the two. His direct, often funny style, makes you forget that you're reading a game book.

On top of all that, the book is filled with great illustrations from Eastman and Laird that are of exceptionally high quality--and you won't find them printed anywhere else. Also included is a short B & W comic.

My copy is frayed and torn from use. A bargain and a great introduction to the Palladium "Megaverse" at large.

Great Game!.......1999-11-20

This is a great RPG not only for fans of the original TMNT comics, but also for those who like mutant animals or good role-playing in general. Forget the turtles cartoons, it can definitely have a very gritty and serious feel if that's what you're after. It's also compatible with several other great RPGs!

Very good quality and fun RPG, but very vauge rules........1999-07-04

My friend and I picked this up quite some time ago and we both, along with a few other friends find it thuroughly enjoyable. As an RPG, it's very fun as long as you can figure out how to play. The rules are vauge and inconsistant, and leave tons of room for interpretation by the GM. I have found that the other books for this RPG (After the Bomb, Transdementional TMNT, etc.) are good quality also, but are hard to link into an already existing game.

Mad Max meets Mutant Animals.......2006-02-01

Road Hogs is a supplimental rule book for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG. This book gives Gamemasters and players a detailed rules system for the construction and combat of various vehicles.

Though many of these rules have been re-published in Palladium's Heroes Unlimited RPG, this book (as many TMNT suppliments contains excellent original artwork not seen anywhere else.

Road Hogs brings the excitment of the Road Warrior to the pen & paper gaming table, and works quite well with the "After the Bomb" scenarios created for the TMNT game.

If I didn't enjoy this product, I wouldn't have written a review.

One of the few RPG supplements to take a look at Australia.

In this case, a postapocalyptic setting where you can play mutated animals, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but this time from Oceania and surrounds.

The Best Australian Sourcebook.......2003-10-02

What I loved about this book was the simple element of absurdity and fun it brought into not just "After the Bomb" but the entire Palladium Universe. What other game system could make a Trans-Dimensional Platypus Character possible? If you take RPGs too seriously, and you wish you were a Wizard this book is not for you. But if you're looking for a good way to spice up your Heros Unlimited or Rifts game, be sure to spend the [$$$] and add this book to your collection.

More mutants and hackmaster esque goofiness.......2001-07-20

Technically part of the After The Bomb line this book is chock full of new mutant species, some of which you might not even have known existed in real life. It also includes some intresting to not so intersting setting information on post apocalytpic australia and the surrounding regions, including the menacing human empire of jakarta. Very goofy in a deadpan ad&d way, very eighties. But it holds a place in my heart as one of the earlier rpg's I ever played. I'll never forget the night my mutant platypus named Guido got in a fight with Cristos's porcupine character over who got the last jolt soda in real life. Ahhh, those were the days.
