As a first-time reloader, I found this book especially helpful. It covers all of the basics and has some good information on specialty loads. I find the reduced load information especially helpful and plan to try some of the turkey loads for my .243. Highly recommended for any beginner.

The required first read for a New Reloader!!.......2007-06-25

Having recently entered the world of reloading I asked what was the best book for a beginner to read? The consensus was The ABCs of Reloading. This book provides an excellent history into the development of firearm ammunition components from their simple beginnings to the current, modern components. The science of reloading, including ballistics is also well explained.

The reloading process is shown step-by-step for the beginner with descriptions and photos. This helped a lot since I had no experience reloading.

Be prepared for a heavy read, but this is no bestseller. There is a lot of useful information in this book, all of which should be read by any reloader. I heartily recommend this book for anyone considering beginning to reload.

A good read for anyone who is thinking of trying out reloading. I gives you a good idea of what you will need to aquire equipment wise and time.

Not much help if you have already begun reloading. Covers all different types from handgun to cast bullits to shotshells.

What more can you say except this is a fundamental reference everyone should have on their book shelf if they reload ammunition. There is more here for the beginner but there is also plenty here for experienced handloaders. I am glad I finally have this reference to use.

I'm just getting into reloading myself, and this book came highly reccomended from a lot of my friends that are already involved in the hobby. I ordered it and read it through and I must say that it does a very good job of explaining how to set everything up and do all the steps, but also a lot of the science behind it. I learned a lot from this book and I would most definately reccomend it to anybody that wants to start reloading!!

Twelve-year-old River was having a hard enough time just figuring out how to humanly interact with the real people in her life. Like, she was happy that D.B. was her sort-of boyfriend, but now Kirstin was always flirting with him! And River was happy her friend Margaret had found a boyfriend, but then Noah passed River a note asking her to phone him at home. What was that about? Sure River wanted to keep Kirstin from D.B. and Margaret with Noah, but did it all have to be so confusing?

Notes passed from girls to boys and boys to girls and girls to girls, dating and mating, flirting and posing--River could never have guessed that talking to a boy would be so difficult.

Dissapointing.......2003-04-13

I am a mother and when my daughter told me to read it...i was dissapointed. I found one or two mistakes in the novel and the dialogue was not life-like at all. It was annoying how the main charachter (river) kept making comments about every statement someone said. The slang was used through out the book and was outdated and some were inappropriate.Also throughout the book, sex-education was being taught to the students which i thought was unnessacary and a nuisance to add to a child book. The good part about the book is that it has a good climax and you don't want to put the book down, although the dialogue is annoying.

Parents should read this before handing it to their child........1999-10-13

There were many problems with this book. I expected more froma Newberry Honor. I read this book for a book review in my Children'sLiterature class. The constant dialogue and slang is frustrating, andsome of the slang is outdated. Jukes tries to make this book current with the use of slang, which is a poor choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to connect with the characters, because of the lack of description and trite plot. Jukes even changes point of view at one point in the book. Another problem the editor should have caught, was she misplaced a character name at one point in the book. Jukes was supposed to use the name of the main character's sister, Megan, but used Margaret instead. Part of the story was unnecessary when describing male anatomy. Somewhere on the cover should be a clue to the parents of the content, so they can make an educated decision whether they want their child to learn these topics in juvenile fiction. Overall I was very disappointed.
