Sustainable Soils.......2003-11-13

A must have book for anyone that deals with soils for a living.

The vast amount of usable knowledge contained in this book is impressive. Even though the information is highly technical the book is structured so that it is easy to understand. Covers most, if not all, areas that will be encountered by someone in agronomy.

The best book to buy for backpacking in Denali........1998-04-01

I met the author and his wife during my visit to Denali National Park last summer. They recently built a wonderful lodge, EarthSong Lodge, in which they share natural history and help their guests plan hiking and backpacking trips. Wonderful place, and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend anyone going to Alaska to buy Jon's book and stay at EarthSong Lodge.

Exactly what I needed!.......2003-11-05

I'm going to be managing a Little League team this year, and I haven't done it before. I've found many helpful books but "The Baffled Parent's Guide to Great Baseball Drills" is exactly what I've been needing. This book helps show how to format a practice so that it keeps moving, maximizing your time, while keeping things fun and simple. I have bookmarks and yellow highlighter all over the thing! I'm really glad that I found it. ...God bless to all you coaches out there.

A Unique Approach.......2002-03-24

The Great Baseball Drills book is a unique view on teaching kids the skill of baseball. The drills are fun ways to involve lots of kids and keep them active. Too often one player is pitching, one catching, and one at the plate, while everyone else is waiting to get involved. Not with this approach.

Don't go to Amsterdam without it.......2002-02-02

I went to Amsterdam twice last year and used this map both times. It is extremly durable as I normally kept it in my left rear pocket - still good as new after two trips. I like the laminate since I can use those erasable markers used for presentations to mark landmarks or places of interest. Once done, simply wipe them off and add new ones. The main map showing Amsterdam could be just a tad larger to show areas to the east and south. Bring this map and a small compass and you won't get lost. Worth every penny.

Good map except for metro & trams section........2001-09-18

The maps are actually very good. And I like the weather resistant finish (A real asset considering the climate).
But the section (map) of the trams makes it very hard to figure out or get your bearings. Fortinatly, good maps for this are easy to get, free, and well posted at every stop. However I geuss
I would still say it is a pretty good value.

I am on holiday in Amsterdam as I write. This is by far the best city map I have ever used. First, it is durable enough that I anticipate it will survive the entire stay. The street names are clearly indicated; the public transportation facilities are identified. Amsterdam can be a bit disorienting because it's a city build with concentric streets. North and South can be confused easily. I have found my bearings several times when I would have been lost without this map. If you are interested in finding you way about Amsterdam, this map will be interesting to you.

Definitely worth having........2000-09-19

We found this map really useful and easy to follow. I don't what the other reviewer means about the street names not being printed on it because they were on my copy! Where a canal has a street either side of it, both streets have the same name-really the two roads are just differnt 'lanes' of the same one, so perhaps this is what confused them. Some of the suffixes of street names are abbreviated to save space, but it is always obvious and the abbreviations are listed and translated. The map is laminated, so it survived the heavy rain better than we did. Just don't stand in any cycle lanes whilst you're reading it.

Well, this book is really great. When I first saw it and I thought this is gonna be some cheesy highschool romance novel that is gonna stink. But boy was I wrong, I finished this book in 2 days(if you know me then, it has to be an awesome book if I can finish it that quick)! It's a book about three girls conquering boys,highschool,and one of the school's bullys. Fleur,Ronnie,Claude make wonderful plans for a school concert and the book is about all the laughs(and ok some crys) about it. I don't want to give to much away, because if I do then you might not read it, but you should cause it's awesome as I have said before.

Ronnie, Fleur, and Claude are Les Bambinos Dangeureuses (LBD). In LBD: It's a Girl Thing the three friends are dying to go to Astlebury Music Fest, a whole weekend of music, dancing, and snogging. When their fun-hating parents refuse to let them go, they decide to have their own music festival at school. The festival is harder to pull off than they first expect, especially with Year 11 bully Panama Goodyear trying to steal the limelight and Ronnie's crush, Jimi. But with guts, determination, and some surprise help, the LBD are convinced to make Blackwell Live run smoothly, while snagging the spotlight and the boys. The girls' quirky friendship and crazy adventures will have you laughing and believing in the power of the LBD.

The Biggest Party of the Year.......2006-02-10

There is supposed to be a rockin music festival called,"Aslebury Music Festival ". It is going to be an awesome party. It will have loud music, crowd-surfing, and staying up all night. There is this group of girls called the LBD that can't go. Their parents will not let them go. They get all mad, and decided that they were going to have their own awesome party. This party will be featuring the most talented students at Blackwell School. They are having trouble finding funds needed to make this party happen.
I liked this book because it was about a teenager's life. I thought that it was very interesting at times. I didn't like it because it took to long to get interesting. I would recommend this book to most teenage girls that aren't tomboys.

Grace Dent's LBD: It's a Girl Thing is a great fictional book for teen girls. The LBD ( Los Bambinos Dangereses) aren't allowed to go to a posh music festival. They decide to put on their own music festival at school. They must make Blackwell Live! a success and even though they have to override some obstacles they don't worry because after all the LBD are in charge! I liked a lot of things about this book, but the think I liked most was how they reached for a big goal and try their hardest to succeed in fulfilling their goal. Something I didn't like though about this book was ,Panama Goodyear a snotty 11 year, telling the LBD that they needed her, for the concert to be any good. I thought that was a bad example towards younger girls.
My favorite character was Claude Cassiera because she sounds kind of like me, she is outgoing and a go getter-a leader. On page 138 to 139 where Claude gives the other two girls the definition of what their title meant. I thought that was inspirational and inspiring for the reader and the characters. I would tell someone else that this book is a good teen girl book and that it keeps you wanting to read. It is a good book like the Mates, Dates,... series. After reading this book I wonder how did the three girls meet originally and why they became friends,after all they are so different. I recommend this book because I love British authors and how they write.
