A Waste of Money and Time.......2000-01-31

I was really hoping that this book would provide new ideas, techniques, and inspiration for the use of sociodrama within work, school, and training settings. It offered very little new that has not been better covered in "Sociodrama: Who's In Your Shoes?" The writing is dry. The ideas are limited. If you weren't already experienced in using drama as a teaching and/or therapeutic tool, this book would not help you become skilled or knowledgable about it. I felt like I really wasted my money and my time.

I really rooted for this couple, did not think I would considering the age gap of 25 year old woman and 45 year old man, thought it would be sleazy but it was a beautiful love story. Good read, sexy, funny and sensual.
Would love to read a sequel about some of the other characters.

She did it again. Another EXCELLENT book. I loved this book from beginning to end. Only upset about her books is when it ends. You always want more. What i love the most is that each story is different and each story gets better and better. I cannot wait to see what Trista Russell has next. God has bless you with a talent......

i really enjoyed the story of Thadia's and her friends and the Rev. Issac. I was completely wrong about this book, when I first read the back cover of this book I thought I was going to be reading a drama filled book about this young girl messing around with the Rev. I was completely wrong!!! This is truly a Romeo & Juliet story about 2 adults who are looking for love and find it in each other, but at the cost of possibly a friendship and a close father & daughter relationship. I have enjoyed all the books that have been written by this author. I am now reading going broke, and really enjoyed Fly on the Wall!!

This is the first book to give a comprehensive overview of recent observational and theoretical results on solar wind structures and fluctuations and magnetohydrodynamic waves and turbulence, preference being given to phenomena in the inner heliosphere. Emphasis is placed on the progress made in the past decade in the understanding of the nature and origin of especially small-scale, compressible and incompressible fluctuations. Turbulence models describing the spatial transport and spectral transfer of the fluctuations in the inner heliosphere are discussed. Intermittency of solar wind fluctuations and their statistical distributions are investigated. Studies of the heating and acceleration effects of the turbulence on the background wind are critically surveyed. Finally, open questions concerning the origin, nature and evolution of the fluctuations are listed, and perspectives for future research are outlined. The book is for graduate students and researchers in the field. Other target groups are scientists and professionals interested in space plasma physics and/or MHD turbulence.

It is a great book, lots of tidbits about insects. Little things you wouldn't know otherwise. The illustrations are funny too. I am an entomologist and it is a great source for presentations, because people are always wanting to know little tidbits about insects. The book has info about SEX and DEATH among the insect world. Dr. Berenbaum is a serious scientist, but this book shows that serious scientists can have a sense of humor too.

There are some chapters of this book that are great--they break down the skill into concise teachable parts and give drills that work on specific aspects of the drill. Then there are some chapters that don't help at all--give a vague breakdown of the skill but have no visual items or drills. Each chapter is done by a college/pro coach. This book does break down a lot of the off-court stuff--like pre-season paperwork to how to start a booster club. It also talks strategy (almost more than skills).

This book is worth every penny. It is written by the legends of the the game. I have read the book from cover to cover, and can still pick it up and learn something new. It has some great tips about how to motivate, communicate and teach everything about volleyball.

Great fundamentals and motivational.......2002-10-24

I have just finished this book before my club season is starting and I highly recommend it. The book applies to many areas of volleyball from youth to college/national and from men to women.

If you are looking for a beginners coaching book that outlines the skills in detail with a bunch of drills, this is NOT the book for you.

The caliber of contributors is excellent and the chapters were put together nicely...it flowed from front to back. I've played and coached for many years. I learned a few new things in this book, but I also felt like the book gave me a different perspective on areas I already knew. I will probably read/review this book prior to my club seasons.

There were a few graphics/demonstrations. There were great pics illustrating Conditioning and Stretching. There were a few sketches of attacking and digging. Jim Coleman did a nice job on Statistics.

"Comprehensive" and feeling "Cool" to carry restaurant guide.......2000-06-14

Comprehensive, Good-looking and Feeling so "cool" to carry restaurant guide for Sydney (heavy-pocket) goers. I found this book after I came back from Australia. So it was quite a good memory for me, coz there is one of the restaurants I went to which listed here, and what is said in the book is just what I thought of that restaurant really is. For me, I rated the credibility for 8 out of 10, Practical (how useful of the book) I give 5, coz there are only the expensive restaurants listed, and we all know that there are loads of good food and cheap restaurants out there...so I would say ok, if you wanna go out once a while to dine in a fine restaurants. Presentation (how the book looks) I give 9.5 for the presentation: with the pocket size that you can bring along, the PVC cover that will make the book tougher coz we all know that this kind of book need to open quite a lot and the inside is so cool with the photos (you can't tell what they were taken anyway) good paper and very nice 10 points cover. I would say that overall compare to the other restaurant guide I have read...("Sagat's survey"---Bad. Presentation (which always stays in my passenger side's compartment) but excellence and trustworthy data...The "Tatler's"--- all commercials but really nice with 4 colors photos of the restaurant and mouth watering dishes) So "Out to Eat" is in between---- if you are looking for the restaurants quide, I would recommend this one but do not expect to pay less than 30 Aus$ for a meal.

MONKEYING AROUND WITH SIGN LANGUAGE.......2001-02-06

This is an interesting story about several monkeys that are sent to an island to live out the rest of their lives without humans. The thing that is interesting is that, these monkeys have been in language study labs most of their lives and don't know how to live in the wild. But, these monkeys use their sign skills to TALK to each other. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. Ironic ending .
