A detailed discussion of the effectiveness and the limits of homeopathy in the treatment of infectious disease, allergies, chronic diseases, psychological conditions and dentistry, as well as its applications in pregnancy and labour, women's health, pediatrics and sports medicine follows.

The final part of the book gives concrete advice on how to learn more about homeopathy, in particular about homeopathic self-treatment, and on how to go about finding a homeopathic practitioner. To avoid misunderstanding, this is not a self-care book. Detailed remedy pictures and usage instructions are beyond the scope of this book. If that is what you are looking for, I would recommend "The Consumer's Guide to Homeopathy" by the same author, which gives a condensed version of the historical and philosophical background of homeopathy as a prelude to a detailed discussion of the self-treatment of acute conditions.

Essential Reading for Serious Students of Homoeopathy.......2006-06-09

So, your serious about studying homoeopathy? Well, after the Organon and Chronic Diseases, this book should be your next step in learning the philosophy behind this unique system of medicine.
This is an essential book which every practicising homoeopath will return to again and again throughout their practice. If possible, I would recommend you buy the editions printed in the United States or the UK as these will last longer and the investment will be worth it.

James Tyler Kent is one of the best known homoeopaths in the modern world and the reading of his work is essential (in this student's opinion), but it is a guide only to the philosophy, as stated in the preface. It should be read in conjunction with the Organon and used as a study guide. Being clearer than the Organon, it will help steer you in the right direction.

The title says it all.......2006-08-20

Decided to take up bluegill fishing as it is available in some nice places close to home. Thought flyfishing for them would be fun as I did that for trout over the years.

Searched for some sort of guide because I was the only fisherman in the US that never actually fished for or caught a bluegill.

This book on Amazon certainly had the right title, so I bought and read it, ebayed some suggested flies, went out to a beautiful reservoir, caught a bunch of bluegill and ate them.

This is an informal and informative little book with beautiful illustrations and mostly decent photos. It does focus mostly on the south and lower midwest. The north and west are, I think, a little different, but still the advice is good and the author's passion undeniable.

This work is an absolute joy to read and putter through. The writing is concise and is quite appropriate and helpful to the long time chaser of Bluegills as well as those just getting started. I have been after this particular species for well over fifty years now, and I learned quite a lot reading this even after all that time. The illustrations and photography are wonderful and add much to the narration. There are not many aspects of this sport not addressed in this work. I highly recommend you add this one to your collection.

A great addition to the fly fishing library........1999-06-12

This is an excellent book on blueguill fly fishing. There was only one bit of bad information in the whole book. The author makes the assertion that graphite rods are a far superior fly rod. This is a useless statement as it is presented. The bamboo rod could just as easily have this claim made for it by someone who is partial to that type of rod. This type of a statement is a sore spot for me, especially when no supporting data is provided.

Overall the book covers all situations and presents some classic and new bluegill fly patterns.

Informative and entertaining.......1999-06-02

This book was found to be both informative and entertaining. The many techniques explainined help even the experienced bluegill fishermen catch more fish. The plates showing different bluegill fly patterns are all beautifully presented. The autors are great story tellers too.

This is an awsome book that every serious smallmouth angler needs to have. This contains a no-nonsence approach to improving your enjoymet of catching the smallmouth. It will teach you where to find the bass, how to catch them, what flies to use- from top to bottom, how to tie effective patterns. This is written on a level that a beginning angler or vetran fly fisherman can understand.

If the tourist thing is your appeal buy this map........2003-10-22

For a general map this is a very resourceful map. But for more detailed streets and more tram details this map could of definitely used. After traveling in brussels for a week, there are at least hundreds of streets this map needed to display. There were too many times my partner and I got lost. I find the Lonely planet series to be extremely helpful overall, and would look forward to the new edition of this map to be more descriptive.

One of the Best LP maps available.......2003-06-01

I'm a big fan of the Lonely Planet series of books and maps - but the maps run the gamut of good to bad (see my reviews on Paris and London). This map was a very helpful tool in getting around Brussels with the very handy LP walking tour. Given a long weekend and this map and the matching LP book, you can cover Brussels fairly well.

I love the weetzie bat books..but.......2004-07-08

This book, like Goat Girls has 2 previously published stories:Missing Angel Juan and Baby Be-Bop, both in which are fantastic. Missing Angel Juan is a story about Angel Juan and Witch Baby who fall in love. Baby Be-Bop is just as amazing as Angel Juan but has 3 different parts. It has a really interesting plot with Francesca's amazing writing style. If you want to buy this book, I'd reccomend Dangerous Angels instead because it has all 5 stories, and not just 2 like this one. All the weetzie bat stories rock.
