Disappointed.......2005-09-19
I placed an order (with expedited shipping) for a book that cargolargo said they had in-stock. On the date that they said I would receive it, I checked online and they had not even shipped it. I wrote them an email asking when the book would be shipped. They replied with a "sorry, we shipped your book to the wrong person" and they immediately cancelled my order!
When I emailed them as to why they are cancelling my order they replied that they didn't have any other copies available. A total WASTE of time!

very in depth.......2007-02-28
Its a good book, easy to read but the chapter cover a lot of material in one chapter.
Great!.......2005-09-10
I took one basic biology course in college and have never taken a chemestry class, so parts of the book were over my head. However, the book was everything I had hoped, covering a number of topics at a level I could easily grasp. If you want to really understand the role of microbiology in plant growth and how it afffects the soil in so many ways, this is a great book.
very handy well written book.......2003-06-13
This book was recommended to me by my tutor at university and he was right good well written easy to use book on a complex subject. I still use it today and think its an essential in any soil or agricultural consultants library.

The alien, cratered landscape of our nearest celestial neighbor, the Moon. The twirling spiral arms of a remote galaxy glittering from the combined light of 50 billion stars. The rolling multi-hued cloud bands of Jupiter. These impressive wonders of the universe have been captured by the cameras of talented amateur astronomers and the Hubble Space Telescope and are presented here in brilliant high-resolution color. This 12-image collection was compiled by stargazing authority Terence Dickinson, author of NightWatch, who brings a wealth of practical experience to the calendar's daily diary of predicted celestial events, ranging from meteor showers to eclipses.

Amazing.......2006-08-29
A PGA master professional told me that my greatest problem was rhythm and tempo. He introduced me to a few aspects of "quantum golf" and I suddenly hit my 3-iron longer than I previously hit my driver.
Back in Europe I still focused on my rhythm and tempo but after several months the length of my shots decreased and I went back to classical golf.
Only after reading the book "quantum golf" I saw that I was missing one essential part of quantum golf - the Q-position. I went back to quantum golf and my results are amazing: my length and precision off the tee improved a lot.
Quantum Golf.......2006-06-05
I have found most "self improvement" golf books to be difficult to grasp without great photographic portrayal of the techniques being taught. Video would make them all that much better. This book, however, deals with easy to grasp concepts and exercises that are practical and efficient. What a great thought process the super fluid concept is! This is just the book needed for those who need to take a break from the physical grind of improving their golf game and get into the mental end of the spectrum.
Quantum Golf.......2002-12-28
A fascinating novella, where a Mr. Smith learns about himself as he explores golf with a mystical teacher in the middle of Iowa. Great reading for tennis players or golfers who want to learn a "superfluid" swing, but also for the golf/tennis metaphors that apply to life. Delightful
Excellent Book To Learn Rhythm.......2002-10-27
I'm a pretty good golfer, and I knew that my game was plateauing. I was stuck at about 79-83, and I knew that spending time beating balls at the driving range was getting me no where. I bought this book based on the reviews I saw here, and I have to admit I am SHOCKED. The book is that good. It's a story, that reveals the secrets of golf within it, primarily teaching you better rhythm, and how to "dance with the club", I feel the difference already, and I have owned the book for only 3 days. Its a great read, and very helpful, I would recommend to all level of players.
An inspiration! Should be Ten Stars!.......2001-06-23
This one, little book is the most amazing golf improvement tool I've ever seen. It served as an inspiration for my own instructional video, Tao of Golf. (Which is available through Amazon.com) It is also listed in the suggested reading section of my book of the same title. This book brought my game to the next level almost ten years ago and I have never looked at my golf game the same ever since. If you are stuck in a rut, this book will get you out of it-and fast. If you have good, solid mechanics and are looking for a way to further improve, this is the way. If you think that you've maxed out your skills, you're wrong! This book will move you beyond what you think is your best. When it comes down to it, it's all mental. I have recommended this book to hundreds of my students and customers. It's worth every penny times ten. I read this book a minimum of twice a year. You should too. I cannot offer a stronger recommendation. If I could give this book ten stars, I would!

Excellent book.......2007-09-26
Excellent book, bought it for my grandsons who love to write, and I figured they could use it for school.
useful book for college student writing essay.......2007-08-05
This thesaurus that i purchased here is very helpful,i had some predicaments before to write a well- written essay like a student in college because of my simple words. My essays were very simple because the words make them simple and boring. From the moment that i brought this thesaurus,i did improve my self and my essays are more interesting to read with my varaition using the words.
Great source........2005-09-11
Everyone in the family has used the New World Thesaurus at one time or another since our purchase. It's easy to use and complete. Anyone with kids in school or adults who have to develop content in their jobs will find this book a valuable resource.
Speachless.......2003-12-29
A most complete resource for writers or closet linguists.
I can hardly find the words to describe this book
Wonderfully easy to use!.......2003-10-01
This thesaurus is divided into two main sections: Roget's style thematic index and a dictionary style alphabetized index.
The thematic index is divided into six areas, covering less than 20 pages:
Abstract Concepts
Spatial Concepts
Physical and material Concepts
Human Intellect
Human Personality and Actions
Human Emotions and Beliefs
For researching ideas, this first part is invaluable.
However, the vast majority of the time, I use the extraordinarily convenient dictionary style index, covering nearly 900 pages. It's easy - if you need a new word to cover the same tired old word you've been using, just look it up. For example, here's the entry for the common word, friend:
Friend, n. 1. [a person with whom one has mutual attachment] - Syn. Companion, intimate, confidant, comrade, familiar, schoolmate, playmate, best friend, close friend, roommate, bedfellow, fellow, fast friend, bosom friend, boon companion, mate alter ego, other self, soul mate, crony*, buddy*, sidekick*, bosom buddy*, homeboy*, homegirl*. Ant. Foe, ENEMY, stranger.
2. [An ally] Syn. Compatriot, confrere, colleague; see associate (in boldface)
3. [A patron] -- Syn. Supporter, backer, advocate, sympathizer; see patron (in boldface) 1.
Make friends with (in bold face) - Syn. Befriend, strike up a friendship with, buddy up to*; see associate (in boldface) 1.
When a word is in bold face, it means that the word is included in the thesaurus and may have other suggestions for you. The number after the bold face tells where in the entry to look for suggestions. The noun form of the word friend has three numbers referring to different definitions. An asterisk after a word, according to the thesaurus, indicates "archaic, colloquial, dialect, slang, or other unusual usage." The N after the entry word refers to its part of speech; in this case, the word friend is a noun. Syn. refers to synonym, or a word that is similar in meaning. Ant. refers to antonym, or a word that is opposite in definition.
The very back of the book has a small handful of pages called the Supplementary Word Lists, which include endings of words, such as -cide, --cracy, --iac, --mancy, and so forth and gives a list of words with that particular suffix. For example, for -iac, the listings includes words such as insomniac, kleptomaniac, and paranoiac, among many others.
In short, this is an excellent reference for a beginner (my ten-year-old frequently uses this thesaurus) as well as a seasoned professional. The organization is superb and it is easy to read and to follow. It's nearly impossible not to find the word that you seek!

Maddie can hardly contain her excitement. The plane is about to land, and waiting for her are the McBeans. They had once been neighbors in Illinois; now they live in California. But Beanie McBean is still Maddie's best friend. In fact, Maddie loves all the McBeans -- all but Buddy, Beanie's mean older brother. The McBeans are special, but Buddy is not.
It's impossible to imagine that Buddy might have changed from the cruel, self-centered tease he has always been. Yet when Maddie sees him, and knows he is impressed with the way she has changed in the year since his family moved, she is sure he is a different Buddy. In fact, she sees herself telling people as she starts high school in the fall that she has a boyfriend in California.
Buddy may have changed, but Beanie, long tortured by him, does not think so. Maddie wants Beanie to trust him, to try to be the kind of sister he expects. Is Maddie right? And what will happen if Beanie does try? The McBeans are special, Maddie knows, but is it possible that they are not special enough in all the right ways?
Customer Reviews:
Almost Paradise.......2001-03-02
While I enjoyed reading Don't call it paradise, I also found the book to be very easy to predict. This did not stop me from very much liking this book or reading it, but it stopped the book from being, in my opinion, great or excellent. The book is about a young teenager who goes to visit her best friend (who moved to California) and stay with their family. Her friend's brother harrases his sister and used to harrass the girl visiting as well. But now the girl visiting sees something new in the brother- looks, personality - and so she decides to give him a chance. This book goes through a pattern of events involving the three main characters. In this book the past is something that comes back to haunt everybody and certain people are not who they appeared to be. The twist at the end of this novel makes the book very entertaining worth while. I reccommend you this book, even though it isn't quite paradise.

Great look into a forgotten country........2003-01-29
This book is now out of print and hard to find. After I went to Georgia, I started tracking down all the books I could find on the country, and managed to get hold of a copy. If you can find one, it's worth reading.
Mary Russel's book is somewhat bizarrely written-- it's part travelogue (her stories of dealing with bureaucracy will resonate well with ANYONE who's been to the former soviet republics), part historiography (her research on Georgian and Soviet history is solid, but not presented in any logical or chronological format), and part cultural biography (with heavy delving into Georgian and classical mythology-- Jason and the Argonauts and whatnot).
The book is somewhat annoying in that it doesn't seem to follow chronological order of any kind; the organization is radial, based around the cities she visited, with topics coming off of each place. But she's got a great eye for description, and her overall view of Georgia, as well as her descriptions of Georgians and their customs, was pretty much on point.
Reading this book made me want to go back to Georgia.
I couldn't decide if I'd have liked the book as much if I hadn't been to Georgia, and didn't already have a fairly substantial background in Soviet politics and history. But my final conclusion was that it was worth reading one way or the other: it's light, a quick read, and fairly much packed with information, albeit poorly organized.
