Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
Japan has achieved a number of triumphs due to the cultural traits inherited from their samurai ancestors. Examples include the country's transformation from a warrior-dominated agrarian society to a modern industrial nation, and its rebound from the destruction of World War II to its status as the second largest economy in the world.
Japanologist Boyé Lafayette De Mente identifies the character traits in the samurai code of ethics that made these incredible transformations possible. He explains how these traits can be applied by anyone to enhance their own personal skills and performance, making The Japanese Samurai Code a success manual for everyone.

Boye Lafayette De Mente does it again.......2007-08-07
Such a prolific writer of fascinating and interesting books all of which as so easy to read and understand. No mumbo jumbo or faffy long technical words, just GREAT writing.
I've only become aware of this writer over the last couple of years and must have all of his books by now, his style is so infectious, you just have to investigate them. He's just a natural when it comes to explaining the Japanese & their mysterious way of life - one would think he was a native.
This book was written for an audience who may be interested in doing business with Japan. The truth is that this book is an absolute "cracker" for anyone interested in life and how to learn to live it properly.
The author does get a little carried away at the end of most chapters and gives his personal opinions - as I'm doing now - but in spite of all of that I loved it. It could even make it onto a school curriculum.
Make sure that you also check out his "Samurai Strategies: 42 Martial Secrets from Musashi's Book of Five Rings" - a successful book on how to achieve successful & happy & fulfilling life.

Book Description
In 1860 farmers accounted for 60 percent of the American workforce; in 1910, 30.5 percent; by 1994, there were too few to warrant a separate census category. The changes wrought by the decline of family farming and the rise of industrial agribusiness typically have been viewed through historical, economic, and political lenses. But as William Conlogue demonstrates, some of the most vital and incisive debates on the subject have occurred in a site that is perhaps less obvious--literature.
Conlogue refutes the critical tendency to treat farm-centered texts as pastorals, arguing that such an approach overlooks the diverse ways these works explore human relationships to the land. His readings of works by Willa Cather, Ruth Comfort Mitchell, John Steinbeck, Luis Valdez, Ernest Gaines, Jane Smiley, Wendell Berry, and others reveal that, through agricultural narratives, authors have addressed such wide-ranging subjects as the impact of technology on people and land, changing gender roles, environmental destruction, and the exploitation of migrant workers. In short, Conlogue offers fresh perspectives on how writers confront issues whose site is the farm but whose impact reaches every corner of American society.

Book Description
In 1987, astronomer Alan Dressler made the electrifying announcement that much of the cosmos is being drawn down toward a massive stellar body comprising thousands of galaxies. In this lucid and intellectually suspenseful book, he tells how he and his colleagues ("the Seven Samurai") discovered this Great Attractor, whose make-up may answer fundamental questions about the origins of the universe. 23 photos.
Customer Reviews:
Intergalactic Samurai .......2005-05-21
This is the story of the journey of the Seven Samurai. I am glad that Dressler is the one to tell it. Alan knows how to turn a phrase, construct a sentence, and piece together paragraphs that I found myself highlighting, not only for what was said, but how he said it. For all its prosaic goodness, the Great Attractor is a completely alluring topic in the Big Bang revelations.
A great book on the topic of mapping the cosmos........2000-03-01
This is a wonderful book for anyone who is interested in astronomy. It tells the story of seven astronomers who would come to be known as the 7 Samurai for their work in researching the topography of the cosmos. Come to find out, the 7 scientists discovered that the Milky Way (as well as the entire Virgo Supercluster) is being pulled towards a huge black "wall" in space that is over 450 million light years across. That phenomena has come to be known as the Great Attractor. Amazingly, the galaxies (and we, too) are moving towards it at an astonishingly 750 miles per second!
The book is filled with great facts about astronomy & its history (particularly the groundbreaking discoveries of the 20th century such as the Hubble Redshift). I learned a lot about how astronomy "works" and how the people involved in the field come to understand the data that is rendered them by their equipment.
One of the things that Dressler did very well was incorporate the "human element" to the celestial quest for knowledge. He described very nicely the personalities and quirks of the other 6 astronomers & also did a great job of being honest about what happened when things went wrong (often blaming himself for quarrels which broke out). I felt as though I knew all 7 of them personally by the end of the book. This is a nice feature in a science book as in this day & age so many books of the genre come across as cold and indifferent.
This is a great book. Buy it, read it and you just might feel compelled to invest in a telescope! (I did!)
Voyage to the Great Attractor: Exploring Intergalatic Space.......2000-01-17
This is an astonishingly good book. Having spent most of my life ignoring the sky, based on simplistic reasoning of "what's the point?", besides the fact that I found it less than interesting squinching my eyeball into an eyepiece to look at spots of lights, I picked up this book and found that there was much more to Astronomy than met my eye. Having at the same time discovered that CCD (charge coupled device) cameras and compound Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes could photograph deep space objects instantly at a reasonable cost, and could be displayed and edited on my home computer with ease, I became addicted. Alan Dressler has the knack of explaining the complex in terms that can be understood, and he makes Astronomy come alive, particularly when it comes to deep space and the sheer magnitude of space-time. Photons really did leave that galaxy 10 million years ago and are just now reaching your retina, but what does the galaxy look like now and where is it in the time that has elapsed since those photons took off in your direction? You may find yourself rereading parts of it just to try and understand, but I have never seen many of these concepts better explained, and I have done some considerable amounts of reading since my awakening. I am getting a copy for my Astronomy professor (yes, I am auditing a college course despite the fact that it has been 25 years since I graduated from college)as I think that this book is just as useful for novices as professionals. You will not be disappointed, particularly if you are a novice and considering getting into the field of amateur astronomy (astrophotography in my case) but you have to learn the basics first before you charge out there with your brand spanking new telescope and camera. This is a very non-boring way of getting started and turned on! We really are made of the stuff of old stars! Dr. Dressler...you need to write some more books!
Managing a 7-year, intercontinental project of 7 astronomers.......1999-04-01
The journey was marvelous and the serendipitous discovery of the enormous structure of the universe was dazzling. The Seven Samurai's formal output included the seminal paper by the Lynden-Bell et al. Et al. being the six other authors including Dressler. And what did they discover? Not what they were looking for. They found evidence of the biggest structures in the galaxy. In this case they found a "wall of galaxies" 200,000,000 light years distant that is accelerating the Milky Way and its companions toward it.
For me, the story of how the Seven Samurai who undertook a seven year journey of discovery had a more comfortable human scale. Consider there are a variety of projects. These range from the repair of earthquake-felled overpasses and releases of new versions of software package to - well, to treks of discovery like Lewis and Clark undertook. We follow their footsteps into intergalactic space.
One of the themes of this book is how a woman astronomer assembled a team of Americans, an Argentine, and an Englishman. The achievement was their ability to sustain a collaboration long enough for them to make and understand a discovery that fewer folks could not have accomplished.
Dressler interweaves the history, the scientific background and the process of contemporary science with his own personal story as a loner in a shared enterprise. I only wished that I could have had a time machine and sent him a copy of "Knights of the Tele-Roundtable" by Jacqueline Kostner. If he'd had it Alan and his colleagues might have been able to better prepare for the hardest part of science - the art of how to work together.
A first-hand view of the astronomer's world.......1999-03-03
Alan Dressler excellently illustrates the politics and personalities behind the scenes in the astronomical world, as well as the actual SCIENCE behind his Great Attractor work. The book is an easy read for those of scientific mind, and will not bog down the novice reader. I heartily recommend VOYAGE TO THE GREAT ATTRACTOR to those interested in galactic astronomy.

Essence of Ninjutsu
ASIN: 0809253437 |
Book Description
Ninja . . . that single word conjures up images of mystery and power. The ability to move swiftly and silently, to mesmerize one's victim, to strike infallibly, and then to disappear into the night--this is the legend of the ninja. These nearly sorcerous aspects of the ninja, as well as the exotic weapons they use, are the focus of The Mystic Arts of the Ninja. Its author, Shidoshi Stephen K. Hayes, is the sole American to be granted teaching credentials by the 34th grandmaster of the Togokure School of Ninjutsu in Japan. Going beyond the basic conditioning and training techniques of his best-selling Ninjutsu: The Art of the Invisible Warrior, Hayes explains the most sought after secrets of his ninja training:
- Hypnotism: Saiminjutsu, the ninja's hypnotic powers are described and explained. Sample exercises are provided to help develop your hypnotic powers.
- Invisibility: Stealth walking and camouflage are discussed. Hayes provides examples of how to move silently across various kinds of terrain and how to blend into your surroundings to become invisible.
- Weaponry: The Hanbo cane, the sword, and the infamous shuriken throwing stars are ninja trademarks. Hayes fully describes their use in grappling as well as in attacking.
More than 400 black-and-white photos are used to illustrate the secrets and techniques that have been used by the ninja to surprise and outwit their foes over the past 800 years. The authenticity of Shidoshi Hayes's instruction is perhaps the most important aspect of this book: no other book represents the true ninja tradition.

judging the book from its cover and reviews here.......2007-09-09
You get one guy saying it is the best, one not, and so on, alternating.. This says to me "this book is controversial".. Get it if you like pissing people in the martial arts off.. Great for evoking hell in any martial arts classroom, then you can use the book to defend you from swords and throwing stars.. It's not really thick enough though.
Good and Great!.......2007-05-04
This book had a great chapter on the Wind Element and techniques envolved.
Makes Ninjas Look Bad.......2006-09-05
This is one of the few books I would give no stars. You will learn nothing from this book, and you will not have to read much in this book ( becuase there isn't alot of text). The most interesting thing about this book is that you can cut out the pictures, put them in order and make little bearded ninja flip books out of them. These will include crawling in the grass, climbing on a roof or walking past a guy with a big stick. Ooooh.
For elementary school kids. If Stephen Hayes is such a well respected ninja then he should stick to lurking in the darkness and throwing metal objects at peices of wood. Stop wasting paper! Oh yeah, don't buy this TP guide, unless you want to make those flip books.(Seriously, I couldn't even give this book away)
Also note, that all of you who gave this abomination five stars, I want you to know I will never buy a book you give a good review and I will ask Amazon to start screening it's book reviewers with a preliminary IQ test.
An Interesting Overview of the Exotic Arts of the Ninja.......2005-11-14
The Mystic Arts of the Ninja begins with a discussion of the history of ninjutsu and some of its historical figures such as: Hattori Hanzo, Fujibayashi Nagato, and Kato Danjo. This historical view of ninjutsu is then compared with the limited conventional view of the day revolving around moonlit nights with black masked assassins murdering their enemies.
Following this discussion of history, Stephen Hayes then explains the Fu No Kata, and how fighting skills for self-protection are much different than the martial arts often taught in sport focused schools. Japanese ninjutsu evolved from the need for pragmatic self-protection under difficult odds in a time of continuous civil warfare.
The Mystic Arts of the Ninja then continues with a discussion of ninja aruhi ~ stealth and ningu ~ ninja tools to include the han-bo and ninja sword. Both of these sections contain several photos (as does the whole book) helping the reader learn the techniques described.
In-ton the art of concealment and camouflage is discussed next. This chapter includes a discussion on gontonpo ~ the five element concealing and escaping methods. Gontonpo looks at general combat and escape strategies as represented by the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
Stephen Hayes continues with a discussion of the shuriken. Although often thought of as a "ninja weapon" many other Ryu included shurikenjutsu as part of their training. Here however we see the way the shuriken is employed within the art of ninjutsu.
The book concludes with a brief discussion of saiminjutsu ~ the ninja's power of directing the mind.
I enjoyed reading The Mystic Arts of the Ninja, and found it to be well written and illustrated with numerous photographs. This book should be in the collection of any student of ninjutsu.
Pretty good.......2005-11-13
I was trying to decide whether or not to get this book or the Ninja and Their Secret Fighting art also by Stephen Hayes. I didnt buy it off Amazon so I was able to look inside the actual books and see what they were like. The other book kind of seems to be teaching you about ninjas.(I know duh)It looked to me like it was just telling you about ninja stuff but not how to do it.(some of it did but....)I looked in this book and it had pictures and how to do stuff and everything. This probably isnt the greatest choice if you are already involved in martial arts, but it was perfect for me. I like it so much I think I'll buy another one of his books sometime soon.

Book Description
A recent Maritz Poll reported that 60% of Americans are interested in their family history. And with good reason. Through genealogy, you can go back into history to meet people who have had more influence on your life than any others -- your ancestors. And the better you get to know your ancestors, the better you will get to know yourself: the who's and what's and why's of you.
Barbara Renick, a nationally-known lecturer on genealogy, tells the uninitiated researcher the steps needed to find out who their ancestors really were, and brings together for even the more experienced genealogical researchers the important principles and practices. She covers such topics as the importance of staying organized and how to go about it; where and how to look for information in libraries, historical societies, and on the internet; recognizing that just because something is in print doesn't mean it's right; and how to prepare to visit the home where your ancestors lived.
Genealogy 101 is the first book to read when you want to discover who your ancestors were, where they lived, and what they did.

Good Starting Point, I Hope.......2006-02-21
I am getting into geneology to see if we are related to Cotton Mather, the famous 18th century preacher involved with the Salem witch trials. There has always been a unproven rumor in my family that he is a cousin through my maternal great grandfather Mather's side of the family tree. As a result, knowing nothing about geneology, but being retired and having time to do research, maybe now is the time. I therefore bought a book with the most logical title, Geneology 101, written by an accomplished and enthusiastic geneologist of her own family, Barbera Renick, to get some general idea of how to proceed and what the ground-rules are.
Barbera Reneck has spent the last 30 years looking into her family history and seems almost like an evangelist for geneology. As a result,I found that her book was more information than I was looking for; but, then again, I need the lay of the land, and too much information might not necessarily be bad. She cautions us how important it is to cross-check and analyze information; for example, it is a good idea to double-check dates to make sure a person's age at birth, marriage, first child, and death flow and coordinate properly. Also, one should analyze the relative accuracies of the sources. A case in point is a death certificate, which is likely to be more accurate than an article in the paper covering the death, or a note in the family bible covering the death. She also recommended hooking up with a geneology society, reading geneological articles and newsletters, taking classes, and doing whatever you can do to get connected with the subject matter you are seeking.
I was a little surprised that she seemed to want to find every distant cousin and great great uncle in every branch of the family tree. Maybe I'll change my mind later, but now I am just interested in tracing my heritage back in time in a focused way, just going after direct ancestors. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind later, and expand my research.
Since I hope to do most of my research online, I was pleased for the websites she recommended, and especially for recommending a follow-up book called Online Roots.
The book seems like a good starting point for someone new like myself. I'll let you know later.
Possibly the best thing of its kind.......2004-10-16
Because genealogy is possibly the most popular hobby or avocation in the U.S. today, there is no shortage of how-to books aimed at the novice - though very few of them are really useful. Still, anyone publishing a new basic textbook faces stiff competition. The more expert and experienced the author, the more accurate the information presented is going to be, and Renick is certainly a widely-known and respected author and lecturer, as well as an experienced teacher. Moreover, she combines attention to the most essential lessons in fundamental genealogical instruction with an easy, informal style, successfully walking the narrow line between textbookishness and superficial offhandedness. She expects her audience to include not only complete novices, but those who attempted unsuccessfully to carry out family research without foreknowledge of methods and sources, and also those who have picked up bits of information on the Internet and don't quite know what to do with them. Of course, any well-written text can also serve as a refresher for the experienced family researcher.
For all these classes of reader, the author makes her key points early and often: Start with yourself. Record everything you find, and everything you don't find. Cite your sources for all of it. Don't throw anything out or disregard information that might be useful later, or to someone else. Don't make assumptions about names or dates or places, or anything else. There are excellent chapters on basic method (including answers to such beginners' questions as "How far back can I go?"), interviewing relatives (because Renick assumes you're interested primarily in researching your own family first, not someone else's), assembling your results in a logical way that identifies your next set of questions (organization is everything), and why and how to profitably use computers in keeping track of your research (without taking sides over the question of "best" software, though she uses Legacy for examples). She tends to spend less time on the best genealogical use of Internet resources, referring the reader instead to Online Roots, another volume in this series which is reviewed below. She'll show you in detail how to begin what she calls the Survey Phase and how to progress through it to the Research Phase, including how to document your search, how genealogists prefer to handle dates and abbreviations (and why), and goal-setting as a research tool. She covers libraries of all types, writing and reading queries, commercial electronic databases (though I wish she hadn't mentioned Brøderbund's World Family Tree series so uncritically), and the evaluation of compiled sources and published family histories. Then comes the Evaluation Phase, including how to properly evaluate data and construct hypotheses for testing, and how to recognize success when you experience it. (It's not always obvious.)
Finally, she addresses the questions of publishing what you've discovered (not just to stroke egos but to preserve your labors for future researchers), preserving photographs and fragile documents, whether or not you should consider joining lineage societies, and the role of serendipity, which genealogists learn early never to underestimate. You may need to consult a professional at some point, perhaps to carry out research for you overseas, and she provides excellent advice on all aspects of this complex subject. You may even want to become a "professional" of some kind yourself. And throughout all of this, Renick strews carefully targeted, tightly drawn anecdotes, taken mostly from her own diverse family, as illustrations of what she's saying.
So: Is this the "best book available"? It may well be. It's certainly a very strong contender. Anyone teaching a basic genealogy class could do far worse than to adopt this as their textbook. If you have a younger relative you're trying to interest in taking up the family's history, give them a copy. If you think you're too experienced to need a book with "101" in the title, read it anyway. You won't regret it.
A handy and practical guide.......2003-12-13
As a member of the board of directors of the Association of Professional Genealogists, Barbara Renick brings a special expertise to Genealogy 101: How To Trace Your Family's History And Heritage. This handy and practical guide covers all of the steps of learning more about one's family, ranging from the tools available to a novice genealogist; to dealing with issues such as culture shock; and the good and bad aspects of using the internet as a resource. Genealogy 101 is strongly recommended as being a superbly organized and presented beginner's instructional manual. Also very highly recommended for the genealogical instructional reference shelf and published by Rutledge Hill Press is Online Roots: How To Discover Your Family's History And Heritage With The Power Of The Internet, the expert and collaborative effort of professional genealogists Pamela Boyer Porter and Amy Johnson Crow.
Genealogy for neophytes.......2003-05-15
This is a great book!! And a must-have for beginning and intermediate genealogists. I wish that it had been in the bookstores when I started working on my family history two years ago. Not only the rudimentary basics of querying family members are covered but also strategies for searching online--databases, library catalogs, and repositories.
Renick assists readers in developing a research strategy and tutors in the importance of accurate documentation. Get this book!!
