I've started using this book and it serve's it's purpose: it translates business terminology into and from Spanish and English. This is an effective dictionary/glossary if you are looking for a quick and correct translation. There are no explanations nor acronymns. It is worth the money.
There is a new Spanish business dictionary from Wiley, buy that one........2006-05-11
I am a business translator, and have used this book for many years now, and have been very pleased. It is now dated, and happily Wiley has published Webster's New World English-Spanish/Spanish-English Business Dictionary. It has a 2006 publication date insuring that it has all the current terms. Buy that dictionary, and do not buy this one. It has a publication date of 1996.
Not for Every Context.......2004-02-03
I purchased this dictionary after reading all the 'rave reviews.' Unfortunately, it has been very inadequate for my work as a translator in the business field. I find it particularly lacking for today's stock reporting and financial lingo. Perhaps a new edition with updated terminology is in order. YET, the dictionary is also lacking because it does not provide examples with the terms or phrases in context.
I will be returning the copy I purchased and will post a suggestion for another text when I find a good replacement.
Way way way above the rest!.......2004-01-22
I have had this dictionary for three years now, and time after time it has what I need to find. Since I bought it, a couple other business dictionaries have been published, and I have also bought them to be sure to have all the available resources. I have had to send the other dictionaries back, as the selection of terms they offer includes all sorts of general terms which I can already find in my regular bilingual dictionary (and online at wordreference.com), and few of the real-life business terms that you encounter on a day to day basis.
This dictionary has over 40,000 terms, all useful, all precisely handled, and the format is easy to read and comprehend. If you need to have a bilingual business dictionary, then you must get this one. If you want more than one, then get this one first, then see if any other measures up to it! You will see it is Way way way above the rest!
Maximum usability!.......2002-11-08
This dictionary makes translations and other inter-conversions between English and Spanish easy and secure. The headwords are very plain to see, which is not always the case with such dictionaries, and each phrase has its own entry, so that you can find the exact equivalent phrase used in the other language quickly. After buying this book I went ahead and verified many terms that I am already familiar with, and was happy to see them all there, each with the proper equivalents for each business-related area, such as finance, banking, foreign investment, real estate, contracts, taxes, and so on and so on. The book earns its five stars each time I use it, and it has not disappointed me yet.

This is not a book that will teach you how to tie any particular fly. What it will do is give you loads of patterns with comments on tying each pattern. Is that enough? Not really but the book is a great source as a reference on a myriad of patterns by a lot of really good saltwater fly fisherman. Where the book shines is where Lefty gives a recommended group of flies for a particular species. For instance, do you want to know which seven flies Lefty takes bonefishing? In the order he fishes them? Its all here. Is that valuable? This book will always have a spot in my library.
Comprehensive collection of fly patterns; don't expect step-by-step recipes.......2007-01-09
Lefty Kreh presents a comprehensive listing of saltwater fly patterns and their application for various species of fish. As a novice fly tier, I found this book to be indispensable at deciphering the quirky names of saltwater flies. The text is sprinkled with little gems of advice on how to fish these flies. The photos are good, but they could provide more detail in places. Lefty gives lists of ingredients for each pattern, but does not give detailed step-by-step tying instructions. This is not a problem if the fly tier knows the basic methods for tying saltwater flies. The chapters could be better organized; for example, bonefish flies can be found in chapters 13, 25, and 28. The chapters are numbered in the table of contents, but not numbered in the text.

Lefty has provided to both the amateur and seasoned angler a detailed but "plain language" styled guide to the identification, pattern (with recipe) and use of those salt water flies he (Lefty) has found to be both sucessful and productive in the art of saltwater and "flats" Fly Fishing.
Lefty presents the basic information that most of us non-professional anglers can easily read, understand and apply to our most enjoyable past-time.
I highly recommend this very well prepared and professionally illustrasted book for all anglers. As usual, Lefty has again provided me with massive amounts of information and instruction that I continue to enjoy which for the most part, made my mere 35 years of Fly Fishing an extremely pleasurable part of my life.

This book has a wonderful variety of saltwater flies. Most of the plates have a ruler in the photo giving a dimensional reference to make it easier to build your own. This book, written by one the formost fly fishermen in the world, is very pratical in content as well as advise

Score one for civilization.......2007-02-14
Some of the polite arts that become trumped by technology on a functional level nevertheless preserve their potency as communicative acts. Such is the handwritten note in the age of email, voicemail, and Instant Messaging.
Rarely is so much practical wisdom found in such a diminutive book. A GENTLEMAN PENS A NOTE is chock full of the kind of all too rare courtesy that sets its practitioner part and contributes to a kinder, gentler world. Although the topic is how to pen that appropriate brief note for almost any occasion, the respect for the other that this work embodies has application to many other facets of life together. That very respect is the core of what we honor--or neglect--as civilized life.
Every time I read a new volume in the 'Gentlemanners' series, I feel that *this* one is surely the best. WIth the equanimity of hindsight, each one makes a genuine contribution to what is in fact a superb series on how to make someone else's life just a little bit easier.

This little book is perhaps the best guide to personal note and letter writing available, which is surprising given the number and size of other books that purport to do the same thing but fall horribly short.
The author offers insight about the hows, whens, whys and whats of gentleman's correspondence, clearly and succinctly. Especially helpful are the "A Gentleman Does Not Write" sections.
This is a valuable tool and worth much more than its asking price. Highly recommended!
Does Exactly What It Says.......2004-06-09
This book does exactly what it says - it provides a concise, contemporary guide to personal correspondence for men. I read it in one sitting, and the insight I gained was well worth the price paid. Bridges and Curtis share about when to send a note, what to write, what stationery to use, and even how to deal with poor, illegible handwriting.
Men often don't have the habit of writing notes. Cultivating the practice makes a world of difference in both professional and personal life. Give it a try!

Under the Lilacs is a wonderful story about a young boy and his dog. I loved all the adventures that the kids had. A must read for anybody who loved Little Woman.
Juvenile yet complex.......2003-03-02
I enjoyed Under the Lilacs immensely. It is a wonderful story of children and how they mature. The characters at times seemed rather flat and uninteresting yet the story is a very fun one. It is full of laughter and tears and eventually a happy ending. I would recommend this book to people who have enjoyed Louisa May Alcott in the past or those who enjoy a relatively juvenile book yet will be able to understand references to relatively older literature.

I was asked to read this book over the summer of 2000 and it was great. This is the first book I have read by Louisa May Alcott. I really enjoyed this book and it was sometimes boring but great. I would recommend this book to some that has lost touch with life.................

Under the Lilacs is one of LMA most wonderful novels. I thought it was brilliant and outstanding. I loved all the charecters, and how they delt with their own problems and ways. Be sure to read Under the Lilacs.
