I consult to jewelers on QuickBooks; budgeting and cashflow. This book is very easy to understand how to plan 6 weeks out if you will have any money to pay your bills.

All small businesses should read this, this is EXACTLY what big business does and it's rather simple. You have to LOOK at it once a week, but very simple.

Philip Campbell does an excellent job of simplifying cash flow management principles. Cash flow problems are one of the leading reasons for business failures. Following Campbell's easy-to-use program will eliminate cash flow surprises. This book is written in a manner that is very easy to read, comprehend, and implement. This should be required reading in all college accounting classes. We thought this book was so good that we bought a bunch of copies, and sent one to each of our customers.

Never Run Out of Cash is an excellent book. It's easy to read and understand while at the same time contains exclusive methods for managing money that I've not seen anywhere else before. Mr. Campbell doesn't waste the reader's time with empty or simply regurgitated financial advice that you can get anywhere, like many books. His tips are accessible and easy to implement. I really wish I had his methods earlier in my entrepreneurial pursuits - would have saved me a tremendous amount of wasted time and energy and more importantly, I believe that many of the poor money mistakes I made in business, would have been different if I had known what I know now, after reading this book. Simple and Essential - that's what I'd call this excellent book!

"My profit & loss sheet say I made money...but where is it"? This book shows in simple, easy to understand language how to "get a handle" on the cash flow of a business. Profits don't mean much in the day to day operation of a business if you can't manage the flow of cash, an integral part of the business. This book lays out the most direct, simple, rules on how to do just that.

VERY out of date information--stay away.......2007-08-19

In August 2007, I bought this book for my honeymoon in Vancouver Island. We hiked two of the hikes listed. One was completely impossible to locate based on the details given: completely incorrect street names (three incorrect street names). We ended up asking at a gas station and were given new street names to locate trailhead and different directions. The other hike was badly misrepresented, with trail names marked differently than the book indicated. A guidebook should guide the hiker; I personally think the author and publisher should be embarrassed to sell this title.

Best Vancouver Island Hiking Trails.......2007-02-10

I highly recommend this hiking trail guide book and I've been hiking and leading guided nature hiking tours of Vancouver Island for the last 12 years. The trails are a selection of the best ones for each area and not just some boring logging road. The descriptions are detailed, clear and accurate and the maps are great. Windstorms and logging activity can affect trails as the years go by so be sure to check with locals for current information about roads and trails.

This book was a nice read, review, primer, and so on. It was annoying in the number of typhos, jargon, catch phrases, and so on. It doesn't rigidly follow the vignette / summarize / localize / ddx, and so on. The tables are OK. There is a nice description of what to expect on test day, how the test is structured, what the reviewers do, and so on. References are provided, and so on. If you find and-so-on to be distracting, wait for the second edition.

Highly doubtful about my chances, 6 weeks before the board I started this book. In the limited hours that I had, I surprisingly was done with this book in 2 weeks and started feeling more confident about my chances. Then I revised a few topics from other books and revised this book again. .. and I passed!

Need I say more? This book covers the format of the boards and covers many of the same topics that were asked of me. It defused much of my anxiety. Of all the books I used for the Oral boards, this one was the most helpful. Well organized, easy to read in small doses for those who can only spare a few minutes a day to study, and few typos.

Covered better in other books and mock orals.......2007-02-20

This is a decent book but I wouldn't spend the money on it again; the information is also covered in "Boarding Time" in an easier to read format. There's nothing incredibly helpful in it, it's just another point of view about how to approach the boards. I passed, but I can't point to any particular helpful information in this book that contributed to my result. If you are studying with friends, buy one copy and pass it around.

Excellent Guide for Psychiatry Oral Boards.......2006-06-13

This book will not give "everything" you need to know to pass the ABPN Part II exam (aka Oral Boards), but it will give you an excellent framework on how to organize your studies for the exam. I used this book during my studies for the exam and I passed on the first try.
What I found most helpful was:
1) Rayel gives a list of the most common dignoses encountered during the exam. I studied until I knew these inside and out.
2) The book has excellent outlines for presenting the "live patient", with helpful vignettes.
3) At the end of the book is a list of commonly asked questions which were helpful to gauge the actual questions.
The only drawback to this book is it doesn't describe the new vignettes which are now included in addition to the videotaped patient. However, since these vignettes are brand-new (as of May 2006), it isn't a fair criticism. I would expect the vignettes to be covered in later editions.
